How easy/hard is it to convert the mobile device <select> “main menu” to the more modern “Twitter Bootstrap Responsive Navbar” as seen here: Responsive Navbar ?
I would like to use the responsive NavBar with the 3 bar icon found on the Bootstrap Docs. If this is fairly easy without a major overhaul of the CSS & JS, I’ll purchase today
Hello,
Unfortunately, this would require a few customizations in the CSS due to the custom sub-menus that are being used.
However, I would be willing to assist you in making these customizations but it could take up to 2-3 days.
I’m actually a developer, and completely understand Twitter Bootstrap, but when looking at the code of the demo site, I couldn’t tell what was completely producing the select drop-down other than a custom JS file, and some CSS.
Is it fairly simple to remove this and go with the default collapse menu? I’m willing to purchase the theme for a quick project I need to complete, but if this could be done for me (removing any customizations from the base bootstrap files so that it is easily upgradable to future versions, as well as removing this styling of the main menu) I will purchase today.
Is this possible? If so, what’s the next step? -Thanks!
... if you could just tell me what to modify, I can take care of it – I just need to know what & where
Hello,
I’ve spoken to my colleague who designed the navigation and he advised that it would take a lot of customization to the CSS to implement this feature.
He recommends adding a separate navigation using the Accordion element (http://www.yinkle.com/themes/ventus/elements.html), which will give the same effect once styled, and then including a media query which would display it on mobile devices.
The short answer is: Yes it would be quite difficult to convert the dropdown but it is possible to get the same effect by adding an Accordion element.
Thanks
Ok… one more quick question (thanks so much for the fast responses!) about the template:
Is the CSS for the theme (ex. the CSS that styles the backgrounds, colors, custom elements, etc.) contained in a separate file from Bootstrap? Or are they combined? Just curious as to updating the Bootstrap framework on future releases.
Hello,
Yes all the styling and custom responsive features are placed in separate CSS files but (there’s always a but) we used bootstraps custom generator (http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/customize.html) to create our bootstrap file to customize gutter widths and removing some of the features that weren’t being used, so for future updates, you will need to generate your bootstrap file through the generator.
Thanks
So for a future update (for example, Version 2.3.0 was just released on Feb 7) how will I know what settings to enter in the customized download?
(Last question I promise
)
Hello,
Sorry for the late response. I have asked my colleague for more information regarding this.
Can I get your email address so I can get him to email you.
Thanks
Yes – I’ll send it to you through your profile contact form on here. – Adam
Please respond to the email when you get it so I can more accurately describe what I’m trying to accomplish
Jaynesh offers GREAT SUPPORT!!!!! Highly recommend!!
what are you using for a contact form?
Hello, I am using a custom script developed by myself. It is AJAX powered, so it will submit emails without refreshing the page and all that is required from you is to enter your email address in the contact.php file.
I have trouble uploading the ZIP file onto Wordpress. Who can I directly contact for assistance? I keep receiving a warning asking, “Are you sure you want to do this? Please Try Again.”
Hello,
Unfortunately this isn’t a Wordpress theme, this is a HTML template. The Wordpress version will be released in around 2-3 weeks. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
Thanks, Jaynesh
Hello Jaynesh,
Great work on the template, love it! I ran into a small issue, with the tinynav option for the drop-down menu. When visiting a page, it doesn’t set the visited page from the dropdown as the current page visited. It defaults to the last page in the dropdown menu.
Thanks
Hello
Currently looking into why this is happening, will get back to shortly with a solution
Let me know if there is anything else.
Thanks
Thanks so much! I dug around in the javascript a bit and tried a couple of things, but couldn’t see what needed to be put in place. I appreciate you looking into it.
If you could please reply to this message once the WordPress version becomes available, i’ll get a notice that this comment received a reply, and i’ll buy the WP version immediately.
Hi, Do you have any idea how to make contact form work without JavaScript? For example on mobile phones? Submit button here is just styled “[a]” which action is captured by ajax… And now if we add “href” or change it to ‘form submit button’, then ajax doesn’t work, cause form redirects to another page before ajax start working/showing errors etc;) So… is it possible to have contact form working as now when you have javascript enabled, and to do what it should do (sending message) when JS is disabled?
Hi, Currently looking into the best way to achieve this. Can you give me your email address so I can attach the files when I’ve done it.
Thanks
Thanks for fast response:) I’m sending priv message.
Any progress in my case?
Hi, i’ll be speaking to my colleague who was working on this particular case. Hopefully, he should have a solution by now. I’ll email you once I get a response.
Hi, I’ve spoken to my colleague and he has fixed it. Can you send me an email again so I can reply with the files attached.
Thanks
Hi how do i remove the style switcher from the template?
thanks
Hi, the style switcher is disabled by default. Can you send me your wordpress url please.
Thanks
leisure-systems.co.uk
its the settings tab on the left i cant remove
sorry!! www.leisure-systems.co.uk/site
Ah yes.
To remove it from the HTML, remove this piece of code from the pages. It should be located near the top at around line 53.
<ul id="navigation"> <li><span /> <div id="panel"> <div class="colour-container"> <a class="style_green"></a> <a class="style_blue"></a> <a class="style_red"></a> <a class="style_turquoise"></a> <a class="style_turquoise2"></a> <a class="style_purple"></a> <a class="style_orange"></a> <a class="style_brown"></a> <a class="style_black"></a> </div> </div> </li> </ul>Let me know if you are still having trouble removing it.
Thanks
fixed, that’s great thank you

Has there been any updates on this? Great template overall, but need this issue resolved in order to move forward.
Hello,
I’ve emailed my colleague asking if he has found a fix. Can you send me your email address so I can send it to you when he has replied.
Thanks
On the sample it shows a blog, is this real? Can a blog be implemented on the site?
Hello,
The blog isn’t functional. It’s just pure html/css incase you ever want to include a blog in the theme.
Thanks
How easily can a bg photo be added to the home page slider to replace the grey bg. Is this a simple css change? Thanks.
Hello,
Yes, this is a simple css change. Send me an email if you require information on the specific class to change.
Thanks
You’ve got a couple of bugs—the dropkick.js file isn’t included and your document.ready should be in the body tag. Once those are fixed, you need to tweak your responsive.css to hide the dropkick’d wrapper div instead of the select id so it will hide and show appropriately.
otherwise, nice theme. thanks.
Hello,
Thanks for heads up. Will be fixing these in an update.
When the screen size is smaller and nav changes to drop down, the current page is not selected. How can this be fixed?
Hello,
Can you send me an email so I can reply back with the fix.
Thanks
I have emailed you a couple times, no reply.
Still no fix? Also the back to top button does not work for me either.
Hello,
Sorry for the delay. I think your email might have been lost in my huge inbox. Can you send me a quick email again so I can bring up your previous emails.
Thanks
Hello,
The ‘back to top of page’ button doesn’t work, could you send me the solution for this? I also had some other questions- I emailed them to you a few days ago from the message box on your profile page. Thanks!
Hello,
is still in the working a WP version of this theme? I would start evaluating a conversion from HTML but before I start I would like to know if is something you are yet working on.
Thanks
Hello,
The WP version is still currently in production. I will update you when it is released.
Thanks
