Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

When I try to upload the file I have downloaded from ThemeForest I get :

The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.

Please help!

Fear not! It looks bad, but it really isn’t. The file you have downloaded here on ThemeForest contains all of our help documentation (including screencasts etc.) as well as the plugins and the theme itself.

Unzip the file you have downloaded and in there will be a folder called “the-theme”. Inside that folder will be another folder, specifically for the theme and a zip file.

You can use the zip file with the built-in WordPress theme uploader or you can manually upload the theme folder using FTP software.

Thanks again for buying our theme!

The menu is overlapping the content

Check out the 2 widget sidebars for the search bar and the breadcrumbs. If you place a widget in either of those (we recommend the search and breadcrumbs) then all will be well!

How do I get the portfolio slider to work?

Simply ‘attach’ images to your portfolio posts. To attach an image, you upload images as you normally do but rather than ‘insert into post’ you just ‘save’ them. A slider will be automatically created. Easy!

How do I make the top menu static?

On line 718 of style.css, just change the position to static. You’ll also need to change the margin-top of line 885 to 0px.
