Versatile Newsletter 2 - 9 layouts, modular system

Well most of the work is behind the scenes, in the source code.

The update made to Hotmail last summer brought with it some bugs: headers turning green and a layout centering bug. And then there was an bug in Hotmail and Gmail that made some space to appear under certain images.

The new version fixes these bugs and some other ones, brings subtle changes to the typography, also the source code formatting is improved and the code is streamlined. The documentation and layout creation are updated to reflect these changes.

There is a difference between working with campaign monitor and having it’s templating system implemented – when I said it works I meant it’s code won’t break when sent / viewed with that particular newsletter client / service.

I usually encourage people to edit it locally and then use the service to just send it as it is much more simpler and flexible then using the online editor and the templating system, but in some cases like setting it up for a client i understand that that is not possible.

The download .zip contains the templates as well as the layout creator system. It is basically pieces of code that you piece together to make a new template or extend an old one.

In mail chimp choose to create a custom newsletter template and just paste the code in.

Take a closer look, the layouts in the demo are included just with dummy images instead of the ones used in the preview.

After you add their tempting system in the html newsletters provided in the item then yes, you will be able to edit it using their online editor.

It doesn’t have them, you have to add them yourself. The code is listed as compatible with Campaign Monitor meaning that if you copy paste the html and send it through them it will look just fine, but if you don’t want to edit it locally and paste it in every time you send an newsletter, you need to add their template system yourself before you can edit it online.
