question: Can I change the url the portfolio items on the front page are directing to? At this moment, when I add a new portfolio item it’s going to direct to www.website.com/portfolio/title of portolio item. I Would like to direct the four images on the frontpage (uploaded by the portfolio menu) to the same page on my website. Just a page. Not a portfolio page. Is this possible? Hope so!

Yes this is entirely possible this function is in the WordPress Admin Panel. Go to Portfolio Transition Speed and simply change the number to whatever you desire!

I have recently purchased your beautiful theme and have set to work personalizing it to fit my style. I have made pretty good progress on very limited knowledge of css. You can view it here: http://juneletters.com/home/ All of the images are placeholders for now
However the only thing that I can’t seem to figure out is how to change the style of the various buttons within the blog template. The big black buttons are throwing off the design, and I would love to change them to fit within the style.
How can I change the style on the blog buttons? Namely the one that features the title of the post, and the button for “continue reading”.

hey, i was just considering purchasing your theme, one question is it possible to remove the four images under the slider and increase the slider size to fill this area?

To remove the recent work carousel edit index.php and find line 20 and remove the code from lines 20-53:

The default slider sizes for the homepage are: 1020 width by 400 height.

Thank you for responding, but I don’t seem to have access to text.css in my Appearance Editor, I can only edit the styles.css how do I edit the text.css?

Unfortunately the text.css file is in a sub-directory the WordPress editor does not seem to currently support editing in sub-directories so you will need to go in manually with a ftp transfer program such as: http://filezilla-project.org/ and edit the text.css in the folder: /css/ with a text editor such as notepad.

I have a strange problem with filling my portfolio. If I do everything step by step (like in your tutorial) — nothing happens, images is not in slider, there is no images at all, but url’s correct, full-sized pics etc. But! If i add “Featured Image” — slider works, images is loading. Remove it — everything ruined again. Everything is ok, but “featured image” added to slider and also — very shitty resize.
Maybe i need another php module in my hosting or something? I have PHP5 .2.10, Wordpress 3.3.1, and GoogleChrome.
[upd] And this is from Chrome console (if i push buttons left-right on slider)

Hi I want to make separate portfolios like in your preview. How would I go about doing this?
I’ve already created 5 new portfolios but the pages only show the same photos from my Home page.

The way it’s setup in the demo in this fashion is by using the “Portfolio Categories”. If you see the demo those drop-downs say category. So what you do is you separate your portfolio items into their categories then under Appearance—> Menu you can add these categories to the menu as we have done. If you don’t see the portfolio categories in the menu creator, please checkout the “screen options” tab at the top right and make sure they are checked.

I’ve been battling and battling
Im now going to pester your quickly.
I have 2 issues at hand here:
*I want to display a youtube embedded video (centered) on my home page UNDER the Header image. The problem i have is that the theme only allows portfolios to be display in short on the home page and the theme has a positioning that positions anything in the Home_top.php so that it floats on top of the header. If i remove everything from home_top, then home_bottom shifts up and also floats slightly over header.
I want to remove the floating function so home_top sits under the header and does not overlay. Im assuming if i want to add content other that portfolio pages, i must manually added it in one of the php files.

I think you are in the wrong place. The theme you are referring to is another theme named victoria on the themeforest which was released a while after our item you can find their page here: http://themeforest.net/item/wordpress-template-victoria/discussion/1293245

Why does this thing say victoria on all my pages. Why can’t I change that?
Why is wordpress so complicated?
I changed the name in the general settings menu, but It doesn’t even show up. It just says victoria.
Please help me take the Victoria name off of my page and change it to my business name.
Sorry you are having trouble with WordPress. WP is very simple, it just takes some time to get used to it.
The text “victoria” is the logo of the site and it’s an image. To upload your own logo you can do so in the theme settings panel as explained in the theme’s documentation.
