Common WordPress Installation Issues
Missing style sheet error when installing the theme
A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.
Frequently Asked Questions
Homepage top slider won’t show any posts
In a recent update an option was added to control which posts are shown in the slider. If you edit a post, on the right side under the tags box, you see an check-option ‘Show in slider’ . So in order for the slider to work you must have at least 2 posts with that option checked.
Latest update ( Dec. 13 ) need some front-end page settings to work
Please note that this update has a small difference in setting up comparing to what’s in the documentation from the themeforest package:
The difference is in order for the homepage builder to work, you first need to create a Page with the ‘homepage’ template selected. Then under settings > reading at ‘front page displays’ you select ‘A static page’
Front-page select the homepage with the homepage template and the posts page another page you create at pages to have a regular blog page with all posts.
Automatic resizing of images / thumbs
The theme uses, like almost any theme, custom image sizes that are set by the theme. The sizes used on the homepage depend on what layouts you use when setting up the homepage with the homepage builder.
The images are always sized and cropped if needed automatically by Wordpress. In order to make it work right, you need to use images which are not too small, and ( depending on the layout you build ) with about the same ration so the cropping will be mimimal.
Also note that after activating the theme, only newly uploaded images are sized and cropped with the right settings. If you already had used uploaded images before installing the theme, it can’t find the right sizes because. In that case you need to either re-upload the images, or use a plugin like force-regenerate thumbnails.
Adjust the header height
To change the height of the header there you need to change the ”#heading” styles. From around line 530 you find 3 #heading styling rules. the one with .holded in front is in case you use a boxed layout and the .camed version is in case you use a fullscreen background.
You can change those heights to change the height of the header.
