Frequently Asked Questions

How can I integrate mailchimp into subscribe form of this template?

First, you need to have mailchimp account with existing list and created form containing single field – email address.

Then you need to open this form in web browser and look at the source code. Find source code for FORM element and copy INPUT fields with type=”hidden” into Violet template to the form responsible for subscription.

Then copy ACTION value from MAILCHIMP FORM and paste it to Violet form. Method of sending info should be already set to POST.

Rename tag called NAME in Violet form from name=”form-subscribe-email” to name=”MERGE0”.

Last step is to disable AJAX which controls Violet subscription form. Open file SCRIPT.JS and delete this part:

#validation for subscription form
$(”#form-subscription”).validate({
errorPlacement: function(error, element) {},
submitHandler: function(form) {
$.post(“subscribe.php”, $(”#form-subscription”).serialize(), function() {
$(”#form-subscription”).each(function() {
this.reset();
$(”#form-subscription”).toggle(“blind”, 1000);
$(”#subscription-sent-ok”).fadeOut(1000).toggle(“blind”, 1000);
});
});
}
});

And replace it with simple:

#validation for subscription form $(”#form-subscription”).validate();

Now, your form will work with your mailchimp list.
