Hi, I’m a new user (not a professional) of ViroShop theme, and I’ve some issues to solve.

1) Contact form I’ve used the suggested code, now I would like to - translate fields and the message “Thanks you for you message…” - insert the captcha - increase font size of the message

2)Shipment costs - Is it possible to set up a scheme as follow?(no need a guide of course but only a yes/no, then I’ll find the way!...any suggestion is anyway appreciated :-D): a)For National Shipment 1 Order < 50€ – shipment 9€ Order 50-150€ – shipment 7€ Order >150€ – shipment free b)For National Shipment 2 (i.e. 2 or more islands of the same nation 1) Order < 50€ – shipment 13€ Order 50-150€ – shipment 8,5€ Order >150€ – shipment 5€

Thanks a lot for the kind support!

PixelStores

Hi,

1) The contact form provided has a basic setup, for use of captchas i recommend using a third-party plugin such as Contact Form 7 plugin.

Within the shortcode you can replace the “Thanks for your message…” with the translated text,

[contact success="Thankyou for your message! We will get back to you shortly."]

2) For shipping, you can add a number of shipping classes with rules, your best bet would be to experiment.

WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping.

You can choose different countries with specific shipping costs.

This may help,

Product shipping Classes

Table Rate Shipping

Hope this helps.

Hi all.

Im still running viroshop 1.5 and have jsut discovered a huge issue regarding my tax options.

Right now i have set my tax’s to zero which illigal :(

And if i add 25% (0.25) – the shopping cart will add the 25% tax to the total cost’s…

Is it possible to include my tax rate25% and have as if it is already included in the total price instead of a addition to the price?

E.g tax 25%

product A: 1000$

In check out page, it will show likethis:

tax 250 $ – shippinh 0 – Product A 1000$-Total 1250$

Can I have check out page to show like this:

Tax: 250$ shippinh: 0 – Product A 1000$ – total: 1000$?

Is it possible to addjust this setting in the latest version of Viroshop?

Thanks in advance,

/Nhat

PixelStores

Hi Nhat,

Please try and update Viroshop with the latest version, the tax settings were very limited in the old Viroshop.

The tax settings in which you mentioned are possible with Viroshop 2.6 and the WooCommerce integration.

The best way to update to the latest version is to setup your site on a localhost and upload directly to your server. Its not a matter of overwriting a few files unfortunately due to the WooCommerce integration.

I’m available for freelance and be able to upgrade for you if you choose.

Some reason I cannot make the favicon show up. I have tried a few of the usual ways and no joy.

Hi There,

Have you tried uploading the favicon via the Theme Options?

Hi, I was just wondering what the permalink settings for Viroshop theme should be. For WordPress I use Post name. What should the Product permalink base be to follow your demo. Thanks, DJ

PixelStores

Hi,

The permalink structure from the demo is using the “Post name” one. By default WooCommerce has the “shop” within the url and you can change the product page url to anything.

Within the WooCommerce settings under the pages tab you can change the “base” page permalink from shop to something else.

Hi, I build my home page with top menu and left categories and nivo slilder, everything is perfect until i put my home page as a static page, the image got full screen and my left menu categories go under my slider?? 2nd problem I need to use inventory with size option I don’t know where to manage that? thanks Chantal

PixelStores

Hey mate,

If you decide to use an image or the slider for any given page and then make that page the static homepage, the slider will become fullwidth and look like the demo.

I take it you want the sidebar to display on the left and the image next to it along with content? Theres is a fix for this but requires a few file edits.. Send me an email via my profile.

Product Variations is something you will need to configure for your products, they include a stok inventory for each variations.

Hello, the shop for my client is ready to go public, but after running some tests, it seems stock management is not working, although I’m sure it has been set up correctly. We use direct bank transfer and Ogone as payment gateways, but the stock doesn’t sync when an item has been sold…Plug ins don’t seem to be the cause. Could you possibly have a look? How can I reach you by private message? Thanks!

PixelStores

Send me an email via my profile. :)

Have you tested the stock inventory with the default payment gateways provided by WooCommerce?

Cheers

tigrakitten

Hi, thanks for your reply. The problem was I disabled the SKU field. After enabling it again, the stock synced like it should!

Before updating to the new Viroshop 2.6, what do I do about the old Viroshop 1.5 I have running at present – just deactivate and delete it from my Wordpress dashboard and install the new Viroshop or can I just install Virsoshop 2.6 anyway and it will overwrite the old 1.6 no problem?

Thanks

PixelStores

Hi,

Due to the in-built shopping cart in Viroshop 1.5 and migration to WooCommerce in the later versions the upgrade won’t be simply copying over a few files and overwriting.

WooCommerce now handles the eCommerce functionality and therefore the product fields, shipping, taxes e.t.c are different than in Viroshop 1.5.

I would first setup a WordPress installation on your localserver and install the new Viroshop and WooCommerce, familiarise yourself with both.

You could duplicate your current site and transfer to the web host.

If you have many products you could always give the WooCommerce CSV Importer a try.

I know its a bit of a hassle upgrading to 2+ but we had to scrap the old version and start from scratch to integrate a new framework along with WooCommerce.

I am working with a client at the moment making the update for them, if you need some help i’m available for freelance.

Thanks – but is deactivating 1.5, then installing 2.6 and activating 2.6 a viable thing to do if I upload all posts etc once more, or, could I deactivate and delete 1.5 then instal and activate 2.6 and begin creating the site again? Would there be residual issues from 1.5 if I did either?

PixelStores

Yep, Your probably better off making a fresh installation of WordPress with the latest copy of Viroshop and Wocommerce if you want to go down the route.

Hello again, I am using a custom background, but in IE8 it doesn’t show – background is plain white. How can I resolve this?

PixelStores

Hi There,

I’m gonna check the IE8 issue now and will let you know.

Cheers

PixelStores

Ah yes your right, good find ;)

I will include the fix in the update, to resolve this…

Open up the following file,

/viroshop/includes/theme_customize.php

And look for the following code around line 495..

http://pastie.org/7899997

Replace with this,

http://pastie.org/7900002

The only change was the ”!important” added onto the end. Via FTP replace the theme_customize.php with the new one.

Thanks for reporting the bug :)

Hi,

The carousel script that is used for the featured items unfortunately doesn’t have an autoslide option unlike previous Viroshop versions. We are gonna scrap the script and replace the current one in the next update that will have this option.

Hi,

I cant get my background image to center top;

Thanks

PixelStores

Within the Appearance > Customizer settings you will see some preferences for the theme. To center the background at the top you can use this css in the style.css or custom stylesheet.

body {
    background: url(images/background.jpg) no-repeat center top;
}

Hi, I tried to make changes in the header – to center my logo, change the cart details etc..

What happens is that when the page loads i see the changes as I made them but the they are overridden with the original cart details display.

I searched the code and couldn’t find another piece of code which contains this <div class="bag"> Except for header.php the location in which i have changed the code.. This has become really frustrating.. This is the url to the site - http://store.hypo-mania.com Waiting for your help :) thanks!</div>

PixelStores

Hi,

The shopping bag in the header is AJAX enabled so you would have to change two files with the new code that are exactly the same.

The first is the header.php file, make your adjustments to the html/php code for the bag, when you are done, copy & paste the code to the

woocommerceframework_header_add_to_cart_fragment

php function in the theme_woocommerce.php file.

The theme_woocommerce.php file is in the includes folder, you will see around line 122 the relevant code for the shopping cart.

Hi, I’m having some trouble with the ‘blog’ page.

I have created a dedicated ‘blog’ page en selected it as a static page (just like ‘Home’). I also selected the ‘page attribute’ but there doesn’t seem to be any styling in it. It only showing the content text but no ‘featured image or titel, and the text is overlapping de sidebar.

What could be the problem?

Thanks,..

PixelStores

Hi,

To have the blog enabled you first need to create a new page and select the “Blog” option for the page template. You should then publish this page, this is the only steps you need to take, you do not need to set it as a static page.

Once you have your blog page you can link it on the menu using the custom menus.

Blog posts are handled by the default WordPress process. Posts > Add New. e.t.c. Setting a featured image for the posts will display on the blog page you created earlier with the correct formatting.

Now is the different colors add to cart button and different styles of product description, and different styles of form style, I need to and you demonstration sites http://demo.pixelstores.com/viroshop/ just like the style

Please reply as soon as possible

PixelStores

Hi,

Thankyou for purchasing Viroshop :)

When you first install Viroshop, the default theme colours are the same as the demo, you can configure this by locating to the customizer (Appearance > Customizer) in your WP Admin.

I’m not entirely sure what the output is on your site, but we have recently changed the style of the “Add to Cart” button to match the theme along with other minor changes to the css to support the latest WooCommerce version. so instead of the add to cart button being orange the button should now show blue.

We have a fair number of frequently asked questions regarding the setup of Viroshop so this might be helpful…

1. For the slider to display on the homepage be sure to select the “Home” page as the “Static Page” in your reading options.

2. When you upload your slides via the media upload after clicking “Set featured image” make sure you close the window rather than selecting a featured image, unless of course you want a static image.

3. In the custom fields select “NivoSlider” in the select box.

4. Products can be displayed using the WooCommerce shortcodes. The homepage uses only the following shortcode to display the recent products.

[recent_products per_page="6" columns="3" orderby="date" order="desc"]

5. Featured products are displayed on the homepage, be sure to click the “star” icon next to your product where all your products are displayed in the admin.

6. In the documentation there is a section for setting up the homepage under the “Homepage” link in the navigation.

7. A sample.xml file can be found in the theme folder ready to import to get your site looking like the demo.

Heres a screen recording that may help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGZGqGImBnE

Hi,

your template is very nice.

I’m trying to set up a website with it but i’m facing an issue.

The size of my pictures is 300px x 450px but when i create a product page it is shown as 300×300. Futhermore, i want to display the recents products on my home page with the short code [recent_products per_page=”6”] and it displays the picture in 150*150 and a part of my pictures are cutted.

Could you help me please

PixelStores

Hi,

The product photos that are displayed throughout the shop are set with the dimensions 440×328 (double the size for retina displays).

You can set the sizes in the WooCommerce settings in the Catalog tab.

I recommend you keep to the width above 300px so the layout won’t break.

After you have updated via the settings the images will need to be regenerated, or uploaded again.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you require further help via my profile.

Hi David,

Place the following php in the function.php file, WooCommerce has a handful of hooks to help customize the plugin.

remove_action( 'woocommerce_before_main_content', 'woocommerce_breadcrumb', 20 );

I’ve found that having woocommerce ‘base page’ set to the same ‘homepage in Settings was why the Slider Images were not showing on the home page (which I presumed was also ‘base page’.

PixelStores

Ah ok, The shop page which is created by WooCommerce is a custom post type and setting this to the homepage will not make the slider work. Because the base page is a custom post type it is has limited editing options.

If you have experience with some coding you could try overriding the templates.
