In the index.html help file it says to -
“Upload the “morningnews” folder located in the themes folder from the zip archive you extracted after the download”
I assume that this should be

At least that is what I am doing now. It is taking a very long time since the file (the coding) is so enormous, I assume.

and not only youtube or vimeo, but own hosted videos with embed code.

That’s a very good idea! I don’t know how we missed this one! I will implement it right away, but be aware it is only possible for the frontend slider and probably will require the autoloop to be turned off.

And yeah, not only vimeo and youtube. But what exactly do you mean by own hosted video? Are we talking about flash or another type (quicktime, windows media, normal mp4…)?

I’m considering buying a couple themes right now just for the ability to have self hosted video in the slider. I think most are ugly but I hope I can spice em up. I’ve bookmarked a total of 15 themes here that support self hosted video and not all support the use in the slider which to me is critical. I hope authors will start considering this when developing themes. It’s hard to buy a theme like Breeze and then be happy with going backwards…
To you, too, the question: do you want only flash videos or also mp4?
I strongly recommend not to use mp4 videos – although it might be possible with html5, but even then, its not very good yet (firefox does not support h264,...).

Well, it depends both on how quickly I find an video / audio player under the correct license. I don’t think the implementation would be that hard, but as I ‘ve never done this before, ...

Ok, just finished the video functionality for the slider. It only works with the big mainpage slider and is really easy to set up. Take a look at the screenshots (the options panel appears when creating a new slide (custom post type, dead simple!)):

About the mp3, I actually meant using mp3 in the slider? I just thought to make a true multimedia site, why not finish it off right and take care of audio as well

As for the audio – would not make much sense in the slider, the box would be too small. Will look into implementing it into the portfolio – although I cannot promise anything.
I just found out about the possibility to add a background image to the player – so I will probably implement audio for both slider and portfolio.

With the Update 1.1, which I will upload tomorrow after running some more tests to make sure it works as expected, I will add audio and video support to both the slider and portfolio.
You can use your own files, if you want, .mp4, .flv, .. all cross system compatible files are supported. As for audio, you can use .mp3, .m4v, ..
It is dead simple to add these files through the backend, you can enable auto play for the audio files and clip the featured image as background, so the player won’t look so boring.
If the reviewers are tomorrow as awesomely fast as today, you can have the files tomorrow.
If you bought the theme, you will get notified in the backend of the theme, right when the update is released and online on themeforest.

I can’t thank you enough Bebel, you saved me from having to buy a couple themes I didn’t really want to work with.
If you’re looking for the next logical thing to do might I suggest individual timing on sliders so it doesn’t cut off videos/audios set to autoplay? Or maybe you already thought of that
I’ve got to believe that by the time your done with another update or two this would be a 35 dollar theme right? Freshface had showtime upped in price after he did some wonderful updates. Anyway, if they raise the price, let me know where to donate the extra 5

Yeah, still heavily working on the features, want to make it quite perfect.
I added an audio shortcode, enhanced the video shortcode, so you can not only add multimedia to the slider but to the post, too – without any third party plugins.
As for the slider time, I added an option to the bebel backend so you can set up the pause between two slides.
The designer is not available today, so I will reschedule the update for tomorrow – we need some graphics for this update, too.
If you want to get informed about the update right in your bebel backend, make sure you enable the update notifications! (Bebel Configuration Panel -> Misc, below the css box)

I’ve only been playing with the theme for a few hours but your backend puts most others to shame. It’s absolutely amazing. This has to be one of the most flexible themes I’ve seen and does things I’ve never seen before. Love the way you worked the widgets too. Well, back to play, ahem, I mean work.

Not sure if I missed something but when I create a static page, it’s putting the author information at the end on it’s own as if it were a post. Any ideas?

yeah…it just said ‘by…’, it didn’t actually put ‘by admin’ so I removed
