Vortex Portfolio Premium Wordpress 10 in 1

Hi,

I quite like the theme, it’s simple, clean, and the most important thing is it’s fast! I’d like to ask a few questions before I purchase (I don’t know anything about PHP ):

1. Is it possible for me to change the feature image size in every post? (not the size in the lightbox after click but the size displays in the post)

2. I like the multi image function in the Blog posts. Is this multi image function built into the system or it’s just a shortcode that I need to type it everytime I write a post?

3. How does the Portfolio paging system work? If I’ve got 50 images will they be on the same page or they will be devided into pages? Can I define the number of how many images can be displayed on one page?

4. At the bottom right of each page, there is a few thumbnails, is it just a widget that I can change to something else or it has to be 9 images?

5. Does this theme support other languages? Say Chinese?

6. Is it possible to let me have a look at the help document? victorcdw@gmail.com

Is it possible to use a different slider for the home page? Like an accordian slider or nivo slider, etc?

I feel like I kind of wasted my money on this theme. The earlier comments say that in order to display a slider image you have to change your permission to 777. This is not in the help folder and is very vague when mentioned. I tried to change the themes cache permissions in godaddy but there are no numbers to change. Is this where it is changed or can it be done in the WP admin pannel?

Also, I read from wordpress that 777 is the lowest amount of security and that it should only be change to this for short periods of time if ever.

How do I display an image in the slider? Please be a bit more clear on this. Are permissions changed at the host file level? Is there a way to display an image in the slider without changing the permission to the lowest security level? Help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the lovely theme! I just have on issue I’m trying to figure out.

I’m trying to use Flash mp3 player plugins (Audio Player and WPAudio) and both are not working correctly. Audio Player reports: “Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.” I’m certain that I have the latest version of Flash and JS enabled. Any ideas on what could be going on here? My other sites which are using these plugins are all rendering correctly.

Hi, regarding the issue with the Flash mp3 player plugins (Audio Player and WPAudio), I confirmed that this is an issue with the theme. If I switch out the theme, then the audio players render correctly. As soon as I switch back to Vortex, they stop rendering and report that I need the latest version of Flash or need to turn on JS.

Anything on the Flash issue? I had to turn the maintenance mode plugin for my site back on, but you should be able to reproduce this pretty easily. It’s definitely theme related.

I purchased this theme this evening and have made awesome progress. Very easy to follow and I plan on rating it highly. I am having an issue however. First you should know:

1) I am working locally on my Mac running MAMP (like WAMP ) so it allows me to run PHP and Apache.

2) I have set my Category ID for my Portfolio in the Vortex Options under Appearance for the Portfolio correctly. I know this because I can post new Posts, designate the subcategory of Print and the post shows.

Here is the problem:

I create a new post that is in the Print subcategory of Portfolio, I then upload an image through the Media panel in WP to grab an absolute URL . I paste this URL for the image into the box of the post (special custom field you created) at the top and while it shows as a Post and on the Archive page for the main Portfolio page, it doesn’t do the great thumbnail view for the Portfolio overview page. It looks like the Blog category rather.

Is this a 777 issue because I am working locally? It would take a while for me to install this and configure on a real server and I like to work locally. Is there a way around this?

Hi Mondre, how can I modify the code on the portfolio page overview where all the images line up, so the image doesn’t click through to a lightbox of portfolio images listed, but instead just clicks through to the actual portfolio page, like it’s description underneath? Thanks for your help
