I just got an error message trying to install the theme from the zipped file:

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Hi Joefrey,

I’m having a few sort of major problems with the theme. I would really appreciate some insight if you could.

1. The SITE OPTIONS are resetting themselves. For example, the Header being either Sticky or not is getting constitutionally reset to STICKY . Another example is the settings for the slider, all the default settings are being turned back on. A third example is the Google map still showing up in the Contact section even though I have unchecked that option and saved changes countless times now. Does this have to do with me uploading the sample content XML document and altering the pages to suit my needs?

2. For as much as I’ve tried to read your two previous posts concerning how to customize the size of home page slider, I can’t figure it out. I want my image to be shown at 978×650. I don’t want the images cropped, nor do I want them enlarged. Is this possible? and if so, exactly how does it get done?

3. Is there a way to justify a logo being used on the menu bar so that the bottom of the logo is justified with the bottom line of the menu? It’s currently set to be aligned with the top line of the menu.

I’m a bit frustrated as the documentation is lacking on this theme. It’s beautiful the way you have laid it out on your demo, but not intuitive for a first time theme user.

Hi Joefrey, is it possible to implement a facebook like button for each portfolio item and blog entry? Also does this theme support Mail Chimp / newsletter sign up to collect email addresses?

Sorry I’m asking so many questions but just want to make sure I buy a theme which works for my requirements :)

If you buy this theme. I can add a facebook like button for each portfolio for you :)

Currently the theme does not support mail chimp newsletter subscribe. Perhaps I will add it in the next version. :)

Hi Joefrey

I am having a problem with [button] shortcode – the link function doesn’t work.

I have tried using the following parameters and none of them work the link remains the domain name link=”xxx” href=”xxx” url=”xxx”

I am running v 1.3 . Please can you advise.

Also, as a request for the future, can you create a list of the parameters each shortcode can accept.

Hi Joefrey!

I try to install the theme via worpress and while I upload the zipped file of whitespace, the error that occurs is: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP _ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature.

What am I missing?

Thanks for the purchased! Please unzip the zipfile and copy and paste “whitespace” folder to your newly installed wordpress, specifically in wp-content > themes folder.

I have the same question as twofoldLA: I want my image to be shown at different pixel dimensions than you have it set up for (950 x ~300). I don’t want the images cropped, nor do I want them enlarged.

I can probably find the answer easily if you can just tell me what css or other file is this located in for editing? I’m familiar with coding, just couldn’t find it right off.

I am seriously looking at this theme for a new project but I have a question about the width of the sidebar – that being what width is it and if less than that how hard would it be to adjust it via CSS ??

Hello Steven,

Thanks for your interest on my whitespace theme. Regarding with your question, the width of the sidebar is 222px in pixel and 22.69% in percent for fluid design. If you want to change the width you can easily edit the style.css file in line code 377

Thanks for the reply.

My CSS skills are just enough to make me dangerous :) could you perhaps share with me what the width settings would be in order to increase the width to 300px ??

Also if there is a change made there for the sidebar is there a corresponding change that would have to be made to the “content” section?

(I’m off to purchase the theme now)

this theme is awesome! it was easy to customize. i have an issue tho. when i visit my website on my iphone. i keep getting the following alert on every page: “The Google Maps API server rejected your request. The “sensor” parameter specified in the request must be set to either true or false”

ps: i have maps turned off on the contact page.

any ideas why?

UPDATE .. i fxed the problem. it was the plugin “Better WP Security”.. i just unchecked “Display random version number to all non-administrative users”

Hi – I’m helping a friend use this theme. Are there any docs on how to add images to portfolio items or the image sliders? Looks like you can set a ‘featured image’ for each slider or portfolio, but a slider with only one image looks a bit weird. I must be missing something…?

Hello willpearce,

If you want the images to be displayed on the slider on portfolio single page, just check the slider option. If you want to add more images just upload them and it will automatically added on the slider. :)

Hi JoeFrey, very good template! I am finishing the customization, have a question. How can I delete the “position” text inside staff template? I don´t want that text to appear below the picture in staff. Is it possible? Great theme, absolutely.

I just have one issue that really bugs me:

In the portfolio section one can only use either 1 video or photos. Not videos and photos together. And not 2 or 3 or 8 videos…only one. Unfortunately quite inflexible for a portfolio.

Would you by any chance consider adding that flexibility in a future update?

I have a weird issue - The google maps graphics doesnt show on the contact page. I haven’t made any changes, it justed ceased to work. The outline of the div where the map is in shows up, though??

Just ignore the google map thing – seems like that the gmap tags balcks out if the description has more than one line of text…
