Sorry to hear you have been having troubled times, glad to hear you are getting through them mate.
Its about the ‘Read More’ button! When i create a new page with a ‘Works – 2 Columns’ template, I set ‘Show read more button’ to NO but the read more button is still there?
Also I can not change the text ‘Read More’ to show anything else? I need it to show ‘View Work’ and have used the program PoEdit to edit/translate the ‘Read more »’ text to ‘View Work »’, saved it as en_EN.po & en_EN.mo and uploaded them to the pk2001_elegant>translate>theme folder, but the button still shows ‘Read more’?
Any ideas?

Regarding the translation, if you look at the doctype of your document, you’ll see:
So, rename you po and mo files to en_US.mo and en_US.po, then the translation should work.
Regarding the option to hide the read more button, you probably set the option in the main PK Options pages of the admin. Remember that those options are for the Works archive pages (when you show a category, for example).
Your page “Videography” is a portfolio page, not an archive (category). So, its options are below the page editor when you edit it… the options for this page type are the same as for the categories, but are specific for the page, so the global settings in the admin don’t affect it, they have a different utilization.

OK mate I tried what you have suggested and the renaming of en_EN.po & .mo to en_US.po & .mo did not work?
Also the hide option for the Read More button is only working when the works template is with 1,3,4 columns!? Just doesnt work with a 2 column page. Not sure why this is??

first of all can you update the theme to the latest version, the version you’re using is the 1.1.0 and it’s pretty old, maybe I fixed something related to your problems.
After updating let me know if anything worked fine, otherwise I’ll make a deeper check for your case.

Hi,
the easiest way is to replace the whole theme folder on your server via ftp. Note that doing this, if you edited any theme file, you would lose the changes.

the menu is there in every page. You don’t see it in some pages, because you’re logged in as admin and the WP admin bar on top covers it in the special layouts. In fact, if you disable the admin bar in your profile within the WP admin, you’ll see it

Hi. I purchased this theme a little while ago and now have to time to work with it. I find I’m quite stuck on two essential parts of my brother’s Portfolio.
I’m trying to have my Portfolio thumbnails open up in a Lightbox but the only way I am able to make this work and not take you to a separate page is the have two images for each work. Surely there is a way around this?
And a second question. My Portfolio page, after loading a category and then selecting “All” the page is now “Works Archive” and not Portfolio. I realize I’m working with works categories here but is there a way to at least make it say “Portfolio Archive” instead?
Sorry if I sound exasperated here. Feel like I’m going around and around and not getting anywhere on my own. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

every website in the world yesterday needed to change the Twitter code, because a huge change on their side.
I’ve already updated the theme, redownload it and replace the edited files or the whole theme folder on your server.
After you replace the folder, because the cache, you will need up to 1 hour to see the Twitter widget working again.

Nevermind, I figured that out with the demo files. However, I notice in your example site with only special pages that we can have a navigation menu on top. But when I use special pages I do not get a navigation menu. Why is that? I have my menus set in the appearance section. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Parker… My site was hacked. I had not updated after the TimThumb security issue, so it’s my own fault, really.
Unfortunately, my host’s “easy restore” only goes back 30 days and even though the problem just showed up, it had been there for awhile. Worse, I have a DB backup from September, but no XML or Settings from then… argh! Again, my fault that I wasn’t prepared.
None of my problems are with your theme itself. I love it, my client loves it… I don’t know how to fix it from here, though. Obviously, I’m open to suggestions. <sigh> Thank you very much!
FYI: I have updated WP and your theme. Most photos are appearing again except for the homepage slider and featured works widget…
FYI: Since my site was completed over a year ago, I looked carefully through the files on my hosting account and removed “odd” ones from the suspected time period. ... Seems to have even fixed the slider and widget images.
All fixed back up! ... ran some security plugins to finalize cleanup. You should see how up-to-date and backed up I am NOW!
Again, my problem wasn’t the theme’s fault at all, but my own newbieness ... lesson learned.
