Hi P&K,
This is my first time using Wordpress and a theme – searched for ages to find a theme and found yours – love it!!
I am having trouble though getting the background image to be fixed even though I have selected ‘fixed’. I have upgraded to the latest version. Do you have any suggestions as to what I have not done/selected ?
Thanking you. Kind Regards, Jacqui
Hi Jacqui,
did you install the Background Manager plugin or are you using the basic WP background options?
Cheers,
Parker
Wow, you really do reply quickly! I installed the Background Manager and believe I am using it – it says Background Manager at the top of the page with all the options…
Sorry, I should have said that yes I had installed the Background Manager. I had even tried changing image sets on my page that I had created. Should it work if you are just previewing the page ? (I havent actually ‘published’ it yet).
Thanks. Jacqui
Hello,
After upgrading to the new version (by renaming folder, zipping it and uploading onto Webhost as do not have ftp access), I have just noticed that I have lost the options panel on my pages (it had lost the template setting) but even when I rechose the template and saved, the options panel still did not display. I have tried adding new pages with selecting different templates and still no options panel ?
Hope you can help.
Kind Regards, Jacqui
Hi Jaqui,
send me via the contact form on my profile page your theme URL and login access, so I can check it
Parker
Hi Parker, I understand you are pretty busy replying to support requests but I can please check that you got the messages I sent via your contact page ?
Thanks. Jacqui
Got it
Parker
Hi,
how can I add the link “view product” in the slider? ?’m using Home Page JigoShop Template.
many thanks..
Hi,
generete with the HTML Generator below the editor a button and then copy the HTML code from the editor. Then, paste it to the description field of the image.
Parker
Thanks a lot Parker..
You’re welcome
Parker
Parker, Sorry.. I have another little problem.. I hope
I followed everything on the online/theme doc first to ask your help… without results.
The problem is that I wouldn’t have the Post comment form in a simple fullwidth page that I have created. However, in IE browser there are 4 fields: name, email, website and body, in Crome appears only the body field and the button. You know why?
as always…. many THANKS !!!!
Hi,
in Chrome you’re logged as admin, so you see only the message form, in IE you’re NOT logged, so you see all the fields
Parker
Cheers,
Parker
Hi, I want to know if your theme is have a area for agents? i mean if i`m online store, i have 2 prices. one for my agent and one price for customers. there is an option like that? its support RTL ? what is the meaning one time using? i can work on it on my localhost and upload it to my server to one place and thats it right?
thank you, if you can give me your mail it will be good for my questions.
Hi,
WooCommerce supports role based prices (agent vs users) with this PREMIUM extension: http://www.woothemes.com/products/dynamic-pricing/
So, this extension isn’t free.
The theme doesn’t support RTL .
One time use means that you need a license for each installation, so localhost + domain is ok
You can contact me via email using the contact form on my profile page.
Cheers,
Parker
Hi, I was wondering how much customization if possible for the home page. You stated there are 5 different ones. Are they static or is it possible to adjust these? Is it widgetized, can you move around the stuff on it? It would be great if you can put up some screenshot on the settings page for creating a own template.
Looks great, but I am wondering how much I can make the homepage “my own” so it suits the kind of home page I want my customers to get greeted by
Hi,
thanks for your interest.
As you can see in the preview, in the Homepages sub menu you can preview all the 5 base templates. Each one has a particular structure and layout that is a starting point for your contents.
As you can see, we added some yellow boxes to display where the widgets areas are located. Well, in those columns you can add all the widgets you want.
Then, depending on the template, you can see some contents displaying: latest works, posts, products, etc. You can enable/disable those contents, but not move them in another position. They are part of each template, so you can chose to hide them.
Additionally, the Business homepage, in the tabs can showcase any sub page of the main homepage.
So, the templates are very well tought, we give flexibility, but controlled, in a way that the result you obtain is always perfect.
Let me know if you have other questions.
Cheers,
Parker
Ok, that sounds great…
So basically I could use the business theme and deactivate the things I dont want in it and add other things as widgets instead!?
Could you share a screenshot on how the setup for a template (business maybe) looks!?
Thanks for your fast replies!!
Hi,
yes, that’s right.
The business homepage is the more flexible and it doesn’t have any fixed content so you can enter anything, I describe it to you with precision, now I cannot take a screenshot because I’m on mobile.
Ok, this is the template: http://sold.parkerandkent.com/sold/homepage-business/
1: The slider gets every image uploaded within the page, so it uses the post’s gallery of WordPress. This slider supports the snap points and texts like the others. These options are managed through the image properties: title, description and some other custom ones for the snap points.
2: Below the slider you can see an RSS feed reader. You can load any feed or if you leave the option empty it will display the latest posts from the blog.
3: The tabs are very flexible. You can decide the button (Compare Pricing) label, color and link. Each tab is a child page of your home page, so these sub pages can have any content into it and then they will be loaded as tabs.
4: Below the tabs there are 3 columns that are widgets areas, you can put any amount of widgets into them.
5: After the widgets area is displayed the page content, so what you enter in the editor of the home page (we added 3 columns via shortcode in the preview). You can also avoid to enter a content.
6: After the content you see an image with logos. That image is simply the featured image of your home page. You can not set it.
This is the business hompegae described in detail. All the options available are to manage these things, but they are very simple, because the homepage gets the information from other pages, widgets, etc… so it’s almost automatic.
Cheers,
Parker
Hello! I’m using the “Home Page Business Template” but the featured image at the bottom is not showing up. I’ve tried removing the image and putting it back, changing the type of template, etc. What could it be? For now I’m working on a local server so I can’t give you access.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
strange, just be sure about these 2 things and it should work:
1: Be sure that the Business home template is selected and then update/save.
2: If below the update/save button you don’t see the featured image, set it again. Be sure it’s set… there’s no way that it won’t show up.
If I was able to log into your theme I’m sure I’d fix it in 1 minute
Let me know,
Parker
Hey Parker, thanks for the quick response.
Yes, I’ve made sure that the Business Home Template is selected and I’ve also checked that the featured image is set.
Also, I just noticed that the color changes I make in the Skin section of the Theme Options are not showing up. I’ve changed a few colors but the original colors still show up on the site.
Hi,
that’s weird… I’d need to check it, can you put it online somewhere? Did you activate the wpml plugin?
For the skin, did you select “custom skin” in the skin option instead of the light and dark ones?
Cheers,
Parker
Hey Parker,
When I select “custom skin” the CSS appears to turn off because when I go back to site there is no styling applied to anything.
I just sent you the login info for the site.
Hi,
do you have the latest version of the theme? The 2.0.6?
Parker
Yes. Just checked I have version 2.0.6.
Hi,
ok, I’ll login to check
Parker
Thank you!
Hi,
fixed. I updated a file that will come with v2.0.7
Parker
Thank you so much! The CSS for the “custom skin” is working. The featured image in the Business Template Homepage is still not working though.
I’ll check it
Parker
Hi,
fixed, basically a small bug. The image was not appearing if the widgets areas were not set yet. I updated a file that will come with v2.0.7
Thanks for finding this issue
Parker
Question: 1) When i change the blog title from” blog-special-grid” to “blog” it wont work any more. How can I just have this say blog?
2) When on Safari and a tab is open it says Homepage Jigoshop | advocate mx . I want this to just say Advocate MX. I went into General settings and it still shows. website—> http://advocatemx.com/
Hi,
send me via the contact form on my profile page your admin login and I’ll take care of your problems. I will fix the blog slug and edit the title to only show your site name and not the page name too.
Cheers,
Parker
Hello and thank you for this excellent theme! Just rated with 5 stars! I have 2 questions if you can help me. 1. I use woocomerce and I cant find where I can enable the breadcumbs in the categories section. Do you know where I can do this?Is it theme or plugin issue?
2. In the woocomerce home page I want to remove all the data after the call to action button and before the footer, remove the space there. Is it possible? Thank you in advance
Hi,
thanks a lot!
Please, send me an email via the contact form on my profile page and we’ll check these things. Send me your theme URL and admin login too.
I’ll be back to you in a couple of hours, cheers,
Parker
Hi there,
I just bought the theme. And have been following the installation instructions. When I got to the part where I set the static homepage, there is no WooCommerce Homepage template. Only the JigoShop Homepage Template.
I’m using the WooCommerce plugin.
Help?
http://thehubgallery.com/newHi,
yes, that’s because in the demo we use JigoShop.
Anyway, just do this: Go to Pages in your admin and edit the JigoShop home page, change its title and assign to it the WooCommerce template from the list below the update/save button and the save. It’s explained in the docs, below the video.
Parker
Had the same issue… now it works…
Hi,
sure, it’s fully supported. Just read carefully the Appearance -> Theme Docs section where is described the demo contents installation and the Important Infos section that explains how to correctly set up the plugin.
Parker
Tried to change the logo under Design/Theme options/General It’s only showing up in the backend… not on the frontend. Changing the header text neither has any effect.
Also tried Design/Header… the same… only backend… no banner on the frontend. ... and saved all of it. What do I do wrong.
Hi,
are you using any multilanguage plugin?
Parker
Deleted all language plugins… now it works. thx
Hi,
well, you don’t have to delete them, just remember that if you use other languages you need to set the options for the additional languages too, otherwise when you will see the site in a different language all the settings set for the default one will be missing.
Parker
That did it. Thank you.
You’re welcome
Parker
Products – I saw that adding a mailto: link to the external link works when configuring a new product which is great for my purposes. However, due to the nature of some of our products which will be ‘quote only’ or ‘inquiry only’ I was hoping that I could put text into the price field for a new product – ie; Inquiry Only. Is there a way to do this or enable text without messing up the php/script. Or do I need to come up with a way to make this work?
Thank you for the quick responses on this forum.
Bryan
Hi Bryan,
you’re welcome.
You could set those products FREE and just change the FREE string to “quote only”... not sure about a better solution.
Parker
Oh, man. That’s so simple and exactly the answer. Moving slow this morning (problem solving wise). Thank you for the solution.
You’re welcome
Parker
. . . . looking for the right php file to edit. Could you help me out?
Hi,
I suggest you to translate it and not touch the plugin files: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/user-guide/localization/
Parker
Hi. I downloaded the plugin. I activated it. I followed the instructions including rescanning the .mo file but the changes did not take. When I looked to the left of the block for WooCommerce edits in in the ‘Localization’ tab it said that there were compatibility issues. If you could please direct me to the correct file to edit it would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been struggling with the plugin for a while now. If you would prefer to communicate privately (so as to avoid confusion for other people reading this board) so that I can see what file it is – no problem.
Hi,
sure, send me an email with theme URL and admin access. Use the contact form on my profile page. Not sure if I’ll be able to check it tonight, but at least tomorrow morning I’ll be back to you
Parker
Hello just checking if you received my email!
Hi,
yes, I will be back to you soon today
Parker
Questions before Purchase please:
1) Blog – looking at your demo, only the single column blog layout has a sidebar. Can sidebars be added to the 2- and 3- column blog layouts? (It’s important for us to have a sidebar on all blog categories and posts.
2) Portfolios – same comment as above for sidebars.
3) Sliders – there does not seem to be a slider shortcode. Can unique sliders be added to individual posts and pages? And if so, how are these added.
Many thanks.
Hi,
1 and 2 yes, they can have a sidebar too.
3 as you can see in the preview there is a slider format for pages, posts and works. With this format a slider will be added at the beginning of the content. To add images just upload them within the post, all the images of the post’s default gallery will go into the slider automatically.
Parker
Hello Parker – Many thanks for your most prompt response – off to purchase now ….
Hi,
you’re welcome and thanks
Parker
Tried another Logo today, size 700×90. 1. Only aligns left like the navigation and slider box on the iphone not on the laptop. 2. Doesn’t zoom in responsively on the iPhone.
What should I do? Any settings or code changes?
Hi,
the loo isn’t responsive and it is supposed to have a normal size. Yours is 2 times bigger than the mobile phone resolution, so you cannot even scale it or it would be to thin because its proportions. It would look like a line
Can’t you elaborate a more proper sized logotype? Right now it’s bigger than a banner.
Let me know if you want to try to reduce it.
Parker
I see… So what exactly is the maximum size of the Logo? width x height
Hi,
there isn’t a suggested size, but I think that a logo wide 200/250 pixels is already huge. The height isn’t important as the width and in any case it is proportional, so it cannot be 1000px if the logo width is 200.
I think that you can just look at the logo size of the most of the websites, starting from envato and theme forest.
Parker
That helped
Zoomed it on 300×60… now it fits exactly to the iPhone’s smallest resolution.
Cool
Parker
Just Purchased and Downloaded ...
... But the change log and style.css both say version 2.0.6 whereas you say in a comment above that there is a bug fix in 2.0.7 – Have I got the latest version?
Many thanks
Hi,
I have not released it yet, you will be ale to download it as soon it gets updated and approved by reviewer.
Anyway, it’s not a proper bug… it’s a small fix for something that happens in a super rare situation.
I will upload the 2.0.7 once I coplete all the things I am doing for this release. 2.0.6 is 99.99% perfect, so use it without thinking about this update
Parker
Thanks for the quick response and clarification
No problem
Parker
Hello!
How do I change the way prices are formatted? it says: Kr27,900 now, but here in sweden we write 29.000:-, or maybe 29.000 kr
Is it possible to change this?
// Patrik
Hi Patrik,
I guess that should be done by translating that string, so changing it: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/user-guide/localization/
Basically if you translate it you will be able to move the currency in your preferred position.
