Hello again
My next question concerns to difference between qTranslate and WPML plugins for your wonderful theme. As we know, there are very useful possibility to create the snap-points, tittle and description for each of slider and other kind of images. Do you know which kind of these two plugins can translate and show the translated texts of this fields in multi-language WP-site?
I need making the multi-language site (with language switch), based on the one-copy wp-installation only, and try now to make choice of which plugin is better for this.
Hi,
I’d use WPML , it duplicates the media so you can translate images and descriptions too obviously.
Cheers,
Parker
Hello!
Don’t know why, but I’m having problems with the template on WP 3 .4.2 (last version) and Sold! 2.0.6 with Jigoshop.
Check yourself:
http://esportacus.net/product/barcelona-2013/ http://esportacus.net/shop/Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Hi,
you did not set up the pluin correctly. Check the Appearance -> Theme Docs -> Important Infos section and set Jigosop as explained.
Once you set the plugin with the right image sizes ou will need to regenerate the thumbnails with this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
Parker
Hi,
Just purchased this and so far is working out well except I cannot enable the background image of the sketched cameras? How do I do this? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
did you activate the Background Manager plugin and set the images for the different pages/sections? You should find the plugin interface under Appearance -> Background, after you activate it.
The sketched cameras background isn’t included with the theme demo, but if you want that image just send me an email via the contact form on my profile page.
Cheers,
Parker
Hi, I really love the theme. Been searching so long and just want to decide on one, but I need to know the following please:
1. Can I have categories and sub categories, i.e. shoes (cat) and men shoes, women shoes, children shoes, brand shoes, etc. 2. I need to select colour/size before adding to the shopping cart, for some of the products, will this be possible? 3. Will I be able to charge shipping for some, no shipping for others? 4. I couldn’t see checkout, just need to know what payment methods are accepted. 5. Will I be able to set it up in Rand/cent as I’m from South Africa? 6. Can I put advertisements on some pages on the sidebars?
So sorry about all the questions, but thank you in advance, Madelein
Hi,
1: Sure you van.
2: Sure you can: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/user-guide/product-variations/
3: Yes.
4: By default are supported all the basic payment gateways: paypal, credit card, cheque, bank transfer and payment on delivery.
5: Yes, you can change/translate any text.
6: Well, yes, you can add images with links into sidebars… so ads.
Cheers,
Parker
Thanks so much for getting back to me!
Madelein
Hi Madelein,
you’re welcome
Parker
Thanks for all the help so far, coming along well.
Currently setting up the homepage (Jigoshop) with the snap points etc. Having problems with not stretching the photos to the full width and height of the slider. Even if I reduce the size of the photo before uploading (e.g. 300×200), it will still stretch to full width and height of the slider, becoming out of focus and obscuring my chosen background image too.
Any ideas?
Thanks, G
Hi G,
slider images must have a width of 980px and any height… the important thing is the width. Your images are too small.
The background of the slider is meant to be used with transparent png images, like in our preview, that anyway are 980px wide also if you see only a camera in the middle. So, to use the slider background you should use png images without a background.
Parker
Thanks Parker – one for Illustrator I guess.
Been going through the slider process, adding photos etc. and when I get to the point where I want to reorder the photos, depending on the order – they won’t actually show on the site / slider.
Is this a glitch?
Hi,
do you drag and drop them in the media manager of the page? Do you save after ordering? Explain me your steps.
Parker
Hi,
Did a bit of playing around and I think unless the images were a similar size, something was going on.
All fixed now though.
Thanks again for all your help, site almost complete
Thanks,
Graeme
Hi,
you’re welcome
Parker
Hello, I have recently bought this theme. Really happy so far, but I am not sure about support. Where can questions be solved? I have a couple like: 1: How to customize the titles of each page. I have tried different methods but none worked. 2: How to change the opacity of the menu. I want to make it a little bit transparent. 3: How to change the title of ‘Products’ in the shop page into something else. Thanks!
Hi,
you can ask me here or via email if I need more info.
Let’s see your requests:
1: What do you mean? Are you talking about page and post titles or about some titles in particular? Give me a link.
2: Hi, you can change the color, but you can’t make it opaque/transparent via the theme’s options.
3: To edit the strings/words of the theme you should use the .po file included within the translate folder. Read the Appearance -> Theme Docs -> Theme Translation section. You can use the translation method not only to translate the theme, but also to edit/change any word.
Cheers,
Parker

+4 moreHi guys,
I’ve released a new update, v 2.0.7
With this released some known issues have been fixed and I added a couple of new options:
1: You can set the shop and product categories pages to be full width. This option is available under Appearance -> Theme Options -> Sidebar tab. The size of the images for the full width shop pages must be different, ask me for more info eventually.
2: You can disable the RSS feed reader of the business home page template. This option is available under Appearance -> Theme Options -> Additional options tab.
3: I’ve added a couple of new social profiles for the footer.
Sold! v2.0.7 now available!
Changelog:
You can redownload the theme from your downloads page and replace the whole folder on your server to update.
Enjoy,
Parker
Hi,
I forgot to say:
4: Now is possible to exclude any attachment of the posts from the sliders/galleries… so no more the problem of uploading additional images within a post and have them automatically added to the galleries also when that is not needed.
There is a new option in the properties panel of each image/attachment.
Parker
Hey Parker,
Theme looks awesome. I’m looking for a theme that will provide a way for shoppers to get all the product detail on one neat page.
One idea I had was for the shop page to have product images which produce a lightbox with a primary image and all the details. is this a possible (and powerful) addition?
Can you also let me know what happens to longer product titles and different image sizes in the shop/blog page (and across the site). I’ve had a bad run with my current WooTheme functionality (see www.newabcs.com).
Are there any extra plug-ins I’ll need to get the functionality shown on your demo?
Looking forward to seeing if your theme will do the trick for me.
Thanks,
Paul.
Hi,
thanks for your interest.
As you can see on the preview each product can have a litbox gallery, exactly like the one you’re describing… or maybe you mean something else that I didn’t understand.
You can set the shop pages full width or with sidebar, with 2, 3 or 4 columns. You just need to set the right image sizes, but I can give you the table of sizes. The titles, depending on the width of the columns you will chose, will just fit or be on 2 lines… that depends on these factors, hard to say something precise.
No additional plugins are needed, oly the free ones recommended for this theme.
Cheers,
Parker
Thanks for your quick response.
Can the lightbox you use contain the images and formatted text/links/buttons from the post?
Paul.
Hi,
you’re welome. The lightbox galleries support the image caption, not sure if tags are allowed, but I guess so. It’s prettyPhoto.
Parker
Hi again…
Question: Is it possible to remove the bread crumbs on the product pages. Basically so you just se the headline of the product and nothing else…
Also, is it possible to remove the ”+” sign when hovering over a blog article. Basically so you can link to the full article but without the + popping up.
I understand everything is possible with the right knowledge
I do have som basic skills in reading and editing code, but I am wondering how easy it is tho do these things
Thanks for giving us all this great feedback.. This helps a lot!
PS. if I would want to move the bread crumbs somewhere else, like under the info text of the product, is that doable?
Hi,
all the things you’re asking are possible and I can assist you for the modifications, everything is very simple.
Cheers,
Parker
Hi, I love this template! www.bestsdrealestate.com everyone can take a look it is turing out great. Jigoshop works much better then woo.. But the question is I want to turn off the mobile site. What are the options for this? Thank you
Hi,
thanks!
To remove the responsiveness you should edit a bunch of CSS files, are you sure you want to do this? I would keep the responsiveness… that’s not a mobile version, is the CSS itself that is made to adapt perfectly to low resolutions…
Parker
Hi,
in any case your shop and products look wrong. You have to set up the Jigoshop plugin correctly. Follow the instructions into the Appareance -> Theme Docs -> Important Infos section.
Then, because you are working with the wrong settings, after you set up the right image sizes, regenerate them with the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, google about it.
Parker
Thank you notifying me about the important docs. Now it looks like your live example
However, I do not like that on my phone the website shrinks to fit the page. I think I would rather have a full screen, just very zoomed out.
If I edit all the pages (i don’t know how incase you have any instructions?) Will the web page show up full screen on mobile?
Thank you!
You need a suppport forum with threads. I think someone may have answered my question but the 15 pages is too much to look through..
I need to shorten my page. On a full width page its the header, menu, then area that says what page you are on, then another quarter inch then finally the top of my content. So how can we eliminate the area that says what page i am on and maybe eliminate the quarter inch margin in the content area? Please help like before Thank you very much
Hi,
yes a support forum would be better, especially for me. I’m doing the extra work here, because I often answer to the same questions again and again. Unfortunately the comments here are not the best way to offer support, but many buyers don’t like to have to register to a different forum for each theme they buy, that’s why I’m keeping answering here
Regarding the mobile thing, as I said, the only way to achieve that is to remove the responsiveness and make the theme to work like a non-responsive one. By editing the pages, you edit the contents, not the layout. They will be displayed differently on the different devices, this is how responsive theme works. I told you that to do this you need to remove some CSS , so if you want to do that let me know.
Then, you need to remove those elements from all the pages or just from specific ones?
In any case send me a message via the contact form on my profile page, for your requests is better to continue via email
Parker
Is there a way to make products in the product page align even if they have different length on the headline for the product. Right now in your demo there is nothing with different length, but some of the pages people have shared have it (it usually is like that in real life), and it does not look very organized when the boxes become different heights.
I hope you get what I am asking… if not tell me so and I will try to explain it better
Hi,
there isn’t much you can do about these things. I mean, if you have 2 products with one title short and one very long it’s normal that you loose alignments.
Depending on your need you should chose the layout that better look with your contents… so 2,3, or 4 columns, with sidebar or not. Choosing a bigger layout would let you use huge and short titles without problems I guess…
Parker
Ok, thanks for letting me know… One way would be to make the titles smaller I guess…
Thanks
Hi,
you’re welcome… yes, you can play with CSS to reduce the font size, etc… I think you should find the best solution for you, the way you choose it’s up to you
Cheers,
Parker
Anyway, when you see links here, consider that many don’t even read the theme docs and so they don’t setup the plugins as explained… and the result is what you see
Parker
Yes, I can understand that that might be the case in some situation. Best i to try it out your self… thats the way it always is
Support like this is awesome, which is he BIG plus … I am definitely going to buy your great theme!!
Thanks
Parker
Hey Parker! Thanks for previous answers!
I have met with strange bug (maybe) of my WP – I couldn’t turn off the comments for fullwidth template (as it explains in the theme documentation section). I have already tried all combinations of checkboxes in “Discussion Settings”. In order to avoid this I have updated the theme to 2.0.7 and then I have created the copy of fullwidth page with the same content and adjustments too. The strange thing is: the copy of page has not the comments section (it is ok), but also it isn’t fullwidth! (that’s strange!).
The links for both of pages sends to your e-mail. Is it possible to lose the fullwidth template functionality after updating of theme? (I have replaced whole folder for this via FTP ). So, now I have two pages with the same contents/settings, but with different looking in browsers.
Another question is here: is it possible to make the fullscreen slidershow from a few background images in this theme?
Thank you for maximum attention to our questions – this is the best support here!
Hi,
I’ll be back to you via email
Parker
Ok, just be informed: something happened with my site during of the updating to 2.0.7 (via FTP ). Now I cannot create page with any homepage templates as before updating… When I open the earlier created pages, the “default” template is indicated in select-box for each of page…. There are the aother templates, of course, but nothing happen when I choose one of them – the additional fields stay still hide… I will try to install the 2.0.7. version to the clear WP site as new. Will inform you about of the results after this…
Hi,
an update shouldn’t cause all these things. You probably did something wrong. Send me your admin login access and be sure that in your Appearance -> Themes page there is only one Sold! version… maybe you did something wrong with the ftp.
Let’s continue via email.
Parker
Hi,
in any case, when you update you just need to replace the theme folder on your server, don’t delete the old theme folder, just overwrite it.
Then, never run the demo contents twice, that’s not needed.
Pages and posts created before the Discussion set up will have comments, but you can disable the discussion also for each page and post. Above the save/update button click on the Screen Options tab and activate the discussion panel for the page/post and then once the panel appear below the editor just unchek comments and trackbacks.
Parker
Thank you for answers here in comment section of theme. Yes, I just overwrote the folder with theme, nothing more. Also I didn’t install the demo content of theme.
As I need create a few languages for client’s site, I just try to do it with 2.0.7 version of theme for the other necessary language. Inform you ASAP about of the results. Now I can say – the clear installation of your 2.0.7 version of theme works fine.. I must be careful with the updating of the theme in the next time…
Hi,
ok, anyway updates are safe. Next time just let me check if womething seems wrong, it most cases is just something overlooked.
Parker
Hello – I just purchased your theme and I am going through the initial setup process. I am creating a Multi-Language site and have not used either WPML or qTranslate before. I saw in an earlier discussion thread that you recommended WPML . So I am going to go with that. I installed all your recommended plugins except qTranslate and jigshop (as I will use woocommerce). Here is my question: After installing the WMPL plugin it says there is an upgrade available (from 2.0.4.1 to 2.6). Is this needed or recommended? I assume so but I just wanted to check. The upgrade is a Paid version and I assume the now installed version is a free version. Thanks. I am sure I will more questions in the near future. I am impressed, by the way, how quickly you have been getting back to people here – and further how helpful you try to be. That’s appreciated.
Hi,
thanks for purchasing.
I guess that the latest WPML version is more stable and complete than the one you have. As developer I created the theme using the latest one, so I can’t say much about older versions.
I think you can try with the one you have and if you see any prolem with it let me know… eventually, if there’s something wrong with the old version, you can always upgrade in the future.
Parker
Thanks – I think I will upgrade. I want to be current with my plugins for security and bug reasons. I just wasn’t sure how you developed the theme and what you recommended.
Hi,
sure, working with latest version is always recommended
Parker
I see a way to add custom CSS in the WP Admin | Theme Options, but is there no custom.css file that gets imported that would allow me to add my own CSS via FTP and without being logged in to WP?
Essentially I would like to add my own CSS without fear of it being lost with a theme upgrade but in its own css file. I see an empty editor-style.css file and tried using that but it does not seem to get imported by the theme. If I create my own CSS file and edit the theme’s php code to import it then that code would also get overwritten upon a theme update. What do you suggest?
I just think that web pages look messy with all the CSS that gets added to the actual body of the page last minute, upon page build, as opposed to linked to as a stylesheet. Thanks.
Hi,
yes, that field is for small changes, it’s just easy to use in certain situations.
Anyway, if you add an import in the custom field with the ABSOLUTE URL of your custom file CSS you can import a file without problems
@import url("http://www.yoursite.com/custom.css");So, in this way this file will be imported and you can just update it
Parker
Hi, all of my images on the sides inserted from ads widjets are turning to be visable in a very poor resolution, despite being done in a right size, is any reason for that? http://www.slavsagan.com/
Hi,
well, they don’t look so bad. In any case the original images are a little smaller the the exact size of the sidebar… you should upload them bigger I guess. We don’t do anything to those images, so they will look depending on how you create them.
Parker
How do I change the title of my Blog page? It just says ‘Blog’. I’ve tried changing the page name through the Dashboard to no avail.
Hi,
I suggest to translate the “Blog” title instead of edit the string in the theme scripts. That’s the proper way to edit the fixed strings of the theme. Check the Appearance -> Theme Docs -> Theme Translation section… is very easy to make translations for your language.
Cheers,
Parker
I don’t want to translate the blog into another language, I want the page title to say something other than blog..like ‘News’ or something like that.
Hi,
header.php, line 284:
if ((is_home() || is_archive() || is_singular('post')) && !is_tax() && !is_post_type_archive() && !is_author()) _e('Blog', 'pk_translate');Parker
I am having some major issues with this theme. I’ve decided to use it without the eCommerce issue for the time being. No commerce plugin is installed. I’m using the standard homepage renamed and when I am logged in, everything looks fine. The moment I log out, everything looks completely out of wack and I have no idea why.
Hi,
so the problem was caused by your plugin?
Parker
Yes it was, very strange and not sure why but I’ve found something similar that will work for me.
Glad you solved
Parker
Looks like it was an issue with the Better WP Security I will need to test some other comparable plugins.
Hi,
if you want I can check what’s went wrong using that plugin, maybe I can make it to work. Let me know,
Parker
Hi,
I don’t know how to contact you. it seems color/logo of theme are changing when i change french to english language do you know what to do ?
Thanks
Hi,
also the options need to be set in the other languages, because there are some selections that are language dependent. Just switch to french and set the options for it.
Parker
