Hi there,

Many thanks for buying.

Index.php is used as your homepage. If you want to have a different homepage please amend this page.

Many thanks,

Hello, I added some buttons to a page other than the contact page. The contact page buttons are displaying as I have set them up in the WOW > Nav menu (white text on mustard background).

Oddly, the buttons I added to this other page are displaying as turquoise (not white!) on mustard background.

Is there another place to change the button colors?

Thanks!

realdesigns

Hi Rosemary,

What changes have you made to the base css?

Thanks,

ps I am unable to get CSS to display the button text color as white; it is immediately “crossed-out” or over-ridden.

Hi,

Is is possible to add an optin form or paypal/clickbank e-commerce buttons anywhere on these pages?

Also, can the sites made with this theme be viewed on a standard desktop or laptop pc?

Thanks

realdesigns

Hi,

You can add paypal buttons if you wish. It can be viewed on a desktop too. It scales to the width of the viewport.

Hi,

You mean a password protected membership area? What plugin are you using?

Rd

I would likely use wp-members. It’s for a client site and I haven’t started it yet. I just want to make sure I can do what he needs before making any promises.

realdesigns

Hi there,

WOW ! mySite can deal with most plugins and WP-members looks like it will integrate from what I can see.

I have installed this them on a seperate install of wordpress on a .mobi domain. I followed the instructions for installing the redirect script but getting error on desktop site after doing so… something with headers does not exist or something..

It says the following script should b added to the header.php of your desktop theme… does it go between the <head> and </head> tags?

also says not insert this other script into the functions.php file. Does this go into the functions.php file of the desktop site also?

I did it this way but breaks my desktop site

Thanks for any help

realdesigns

Hi Scott,

Many thanks for purchasing this theme.

The script needs to be added right at the top of header.php of your desktop website. You will also need to add the other script into the function.php file of your desktop website too. You might not be closing the <?php ?> tags correctly.

Let me know how it goes.

You need to upload Mobile_Detect.php to the root of your server. That should do it.

Thanks RealDesigns! That did the trick.

downloaded 2.1 http://code.google.com/p/php-mobile-detect/downloads/detail?name=php-mobile-detect.v.2.1.RC.zip

How would you go about this if the desktop site was not Wordpress? and would this Detect.php have to be put on the root of all domains for all sites…?

realdesigns

It’s in the user guide if your desktop website isn’t WordPress. The page only has to have .php extension to work and same code.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.. One other thing, how does this render out on and Ipad? I noticed your feature images in the dummy content are 300px wide. Does the ipad detect the desktop version or the mobile version and then stretch the pictures?

Thanks for your quick help!

realdesigns

Hi Scott,

WOW ! mySite renders correctly on the iPad. The featured images resize proportionately to the size of the viewport.

Please use the same thread for sending requests.

When using this theme on a Multi Sit install and editing top left logo folder , it will affect all sites since the theme is edited from the network admin section and all sites would pull from the mail theme file.

Is there a way around this.. could create a child theme but all sites will still pull from this. Any advice appreciated

realdesigns

You would need to set up the theme with the logo first then add the theme to the multi site install.

Please email me with further requests.

Hello Marcus, I haven’t made any changes to the css, or anything else. Brand new installation. Buttons’ text color is set to white in your theme options menu, and showing as white on the contact page, but showing as turquoise on another page. The turquoise is the same color I used for the menu button (upper right corner…main menu.) Thanks,

hi there, thank you, your last answer brought me a huge step further. unfortunately, now i am stuck with another problem. i can’t make the theme showing the layout it should using the “post template”. my posts on the front page under “latest” and on the news site look pretty ugly, because the featured images are floating somewhere above the text and the footer line is a chaos, too. the other pages, that don’t have any articles, are looking fine. how can i solve this problem? i didn’t find the answer in the manual. thanks a lot! cf

realdesigns

Hi,

Please take a look in the faqs at the top of this page. You will find an answer there for your front page shows latest posts.

Hey Man

Great job on this, anyway, can I load another page besides the home page as set in the Settings>Reading Panel? Basically I have a desktop version but I need to direct the mobi home page to another page. I know in the theme it can be done but that makes my desktop page also use that page.

Best Regards

Anyone had any luck changing font family and size or adding icons next to the menu items that they want to share?

Got the text to change when viewing on desktop but not mobile and icon is their but not showing.

p {
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;!important
    font-size: 18px;!important
   }
#menu-item-12{
    background-image: url("http://campbellairsecurity.mobiyes.mobi/files/2012/08/mail24.png");background-repeat:no-repeat left center;display:block;padding-left:23px;

}

Thanks for any help…

realdesigns

Hi Scott,

To change your font you can do this. It will add the font to the configuration panel under fonts so you can switch back at a later date to other fonts.

In wps-panel/wps-panel-options.php look for ‘fonts’. Here add your font after ‘Times New Roman’ => ‘times-font’, like this:

'My Font' => 'myfont'

Now in theme-options.php look for this:

if(isset($options['wps_select_Font']))

Then add your case statement:

case "myfont":
            $fontFamily =  "'myfont family";
            break;

This will add your font to the theme configuration panel and will display your font accordingly.

Hope this helps.

Your css doesn’t look quite right:

Try this

background: url("http://campbellairsecurity.mobiyes.mobi/files/2012/08/mail24.png") no-repeat left center;

I tried that css change for adding images to menu item but it just moved the about me text back in line like the image is not ever there.

#menu-item-12{
    background: url("http://campbellairsecurity.mobiyes.mobi/files/2012/08/mail24.png") no-repeat left center;

}
realdesigns

Hi Scott,

The size of the text has been optimised for mobile. I was very careful when I developed the theme to cater for this. If you change the size of the text it might break the website for you. Please leave it as it is. Otherwise you will have to alter p tags, heading tags and line heights. Fonts will display in various ways which can be inconsistent too.

What file would I add an icon for linked IN, Mail , And and Phone Icon and have it show up in the options panes so I can Just add the links there? Would if just be a matter of adding to the one file wps-panel-options.php?

i thought of adding to the footer but using this on multisite so that would not work. Also noticed that the logo has to be uploaded to files so would not work on Multi Site either..

Please advise and thanks for your help here Real Designs :)

Scott

If you want to add new icons simply add them to the text editor panel in your contact page.

Rd

Ok but I dont think that would put them below the footer of every page like the twitter and facebook icons are now. I don’t use the actual contact template for contact page because I needed a form where the user could fill out additional info. Wanted to add a mail and phone and linked in icon below the footer to everypage like the twitter / facebook shows from the options panel :)

Anybody have any luck with a child them… Thought this would work but site is broken with it.. missing a style sheet?

  /*
Theme Name:     Child Wow Theme
Description:    Child theme for wow.
Author:         Scott Heliker
Template:       mobilecustom

(optional values you can add: Theme URI, Author URI, Version)
*/

@import url("../mobilecustom/style.css");
realdesigns

Hi Scott,

You will need to define the child theme like this:

/*
Theme Name: Twentyeleven Child
Description: Child theme for the twentyeleven theme
Author: Your name here
Template: twentyeleven
*/

@import url("../twentyeleven/style.css");

#site-title a {
    color: #009900;
}

There is more information on the WordPress codex http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes.

I am not trying to make the twenty 11 theme a child. Jut your mobile theme , I have created child themes before. I have renamed the directory theme of your theme to mobilecustom hence why you see that in template name. Checks out ok but the styling is messed up. I then used a plugin 1 click child theme to make sure my setting were correct and the 1 click gave it the exact same setting that I did manually but the styling seems to be broken. Not sure if it has something to do with where it is suppose to pull the styling with your theme. I noticed it had two urls in the original theme

realdesigns

Your @import url(”../mobilecustom/style.css”); doesn’t look right. There are further imports in style.css which should be included. This should be working though.

can you paste the further imports needed here what doesnt look right? that is the name I named the directory

Can’t get entire page wrapped in a div to accept font css. Only first couple paragraphs accept the changes

<div class="fonthack"> Puttting all page content in here but only first two paragraphs accept the changes. When viewing on desktop seems to work</div>
CSS
.fonthack{
font-family: Arial Black; font-size: 18px; color: black;
}

Been trying to just get this text bigger all day. Anybody have a fix. The default font is rather small and defeats the purpose of having the site optimized for mobile… Thanks
