Being able to edit the ‘A little about us’ and ‘contact us’ on the home page as a widget or admin panel option would have been nice (or at least pointed out in the help).

Otherwise, nice work! :-)

Hi. very nice work. I’m considering buying it for a project I have. Just a question: you can add some captions (ideally, tittle and excerpt) to the images on the front page slider, right?

contempoinc

Thanks, it’s definitely possible but because of all the different slider effects it wouldn’t work out very well unless all you used was the default fade style.

Default-user

I’m sorry to hear that, as I was planning to use it on an online magazine, which makes that feature a must. Could you please elaborate on what the problem is? Is there a way to easily (if possibly, automatically) insert captions through the admin panel, or would I have to mess with the code?

Thanks

contempoinc

Sorry I might have been unclear, you can definitely add the feature its just not something I’m going to be integrating into an update because of all the different options for the slider.

But in your case you could just use the “Fade” effect (default) and you wouldn’t have any issues, however you will have to dive into the slider code and add the ability to pull captions from the loop.

Nice theme! I’m looking for a simple, single page blog, so would it be possible to remove the grey toolbar at the top of the page?

contempoinc

Yes, you would just need to remove the nav from header.php

Your help doc states that there’s an XML file to populate with the demo materials, but it’s not in the downloaded files. can you email it to me?

I am interested in your template. Can you send me your documentation. Or at least some screenshot from the admin panel, including the “create a skin”. Thanks.

Here’s a preview of the “Create a Skin” feature:

I love the theme. For some reason I can’t get my four footer widgets to align in a row as you have in the demo. Any tricks to this?

contempoinc

No tricks at all, just assign the four widgets as normal. Can you post a link to your installation, so I can take a look.

Have you added any plugins? I’m thinking one of them is conflicting with the core.js, which injects a .last class onto the last widget in the row removing the right margin so it can fit within the container. If so deactivate and re-activate them one by one testing on your way.

Contempo, Love, love the look, and the features if we could get them to work….We really need help figuring this out, we cant figure out how to email you. We cant figure out how to get pics in the slider, or pics to show up with each post preview on the homepage. It is almost like something is missing in the template. We can send you a link to ours if you want. Please get back to us, we are using this for our adoption site and need to get it up asap. Oh, and for your videos (which are helpful) is there really no sound? Thanks, Jamie

contempoinc

Thanks for your purchase.

You’ll need to make a “Featured” category for the slider and assign it in the Admin Options panel, then assign your posts that you would like in the slider to that category.

If you watch the “Creating a Post” screencast it will show you how to assign pics to posts

And yes there is no voiceover in the screencasts

Whenever I try to upload the theme, it says, “are you sure you want to do this?”....great theme nonetheless.

contempoinc

Really odd, haven’t had anyone else with that issue. Could you post a screenshot?

We tried to create a post the way you instructions and the screencast suggested, but we are still having problems. Is there a certain size that the image needs to be?

contempoinc

Have you checked everything in the FAQ

New feature in the queue:

Added Post Title & Excerpts to the featured slider, along with the ability to turn them on/off and customize the color of the title & excerpt background. I’ll post a notice once the updated files are up!

great home page design!

question: are the posts category driven, like a magazine style theme?

that is, can i have one category of posts pull into the rotation, one category of posts pull into the recent posts with thumbs section, and one category into a bottom widget?

thanks!

contempoinc

Thanks, yes you can there’s one category for the slider one for the posts underneath and the area below them is widget driven

knee-deep into an install, i’m pretty impressed! you put out a call for new features, so here are a couple things:

1) thumbnail images won’t right align when defined as such (bio pics on about page).

2) as seen in the demo, the slider captions tends to bump over to the left, out of the field of view. if i refresh after leaving the admin panel it seems to go away. any solid fix would be appreciated.

3) the second paragraph of page text tabs in, as if it has a mind of its own. no troubles in post text.

number one is pretty important to me, so i’m hopeful for a mini-update! thanks for a great theme!

contempoinc

Thanks for your purchase.

1) I apologize I left the float left and right out of the declarations, replace your style.css with this and you’ll be good to go.

2) I haven’t noticed what browser are you using?

3) This is done with the style on line 192 in style.css, you can remove it if you like.
