I just deactivated the plugin and now the text is gone. Sorry about all that. I was under the assumption you needed to have the plugin activated. Sorry and thanks again.

I have made most of the alterations to this template that I’d like to, but I still can’t get rid of the double images.
http://www.davidmarkbrownwrites.com/
I only want the actual image, not the additional expanded thumb across the top. I am only loading the image once, using the built-in image uploader (the add an image icon in the add new post editor).
Help please.
Are you seeing the double image on Tumblog Image Posts or All Post Types?
I have not made any tumblog posts yet, so the double images were only with regular blog posts. I finally found a line of code on the single and page.php files that seemed to clear up the double image,
but, I am still having trouble with captions and buffer space between the blog text and the image, like @sethneal noted below. I hadn’t noticed, but it does seem to work fine when I don’t use a caption. But captions break it.
O.K. I just read the rest of the next few comments. It sounds like an update is coming. I will download that and keep my fingers crossed!
Thanks.
Not sure I’m following on the spacing issue, are you talking about images or? Can you post a screenshot.
The wraparound text runs right into the image border. (1px gap)
Gotcha, that’s been fixed in the coming update.
Sounds good. THanks for the update.
And in case people were wondering, the line of text I cut out for the double images:
<!
- <?php ct_first_image_blog(); ?> -> in the index.php page.php single.php respectively for dealing with the home page, the pages, and the single blog post. And I was adding: in order to deal with an issue from a previous template actually (breaking from captions). Those posts were imported. It seems to be a common problem.
I really like the look of your theme! Great job!
I’m considering purchasing but I have a couple serious concerns about using this theme as a blog. It appears to have some major image issues when used that way.
I hope hachebrown doesn’t mind me using the blog he just mentioned as an example…
1) Why are these images being doubled up? Can you disable the image at the top of the posts on your main blog page?
http://www.davidmarkbrownwrites.com/
2) It also appears that the theme is breaking the styles on some of these images. Check out these 3 posts…
Thoughts on this?
Sorry to be such a stickler, but I’ve bought themes that weren’t coded real well and the frustration just isn’t worth it.
1) Working on this
2) If you look at his code some images are wrapped with div’s with floats and some aren’t. However the default alignments on some have been corrected in an update thats been added to the approval queue this morning. If you purchase I can shoot the code over to you.
Thanks for the reply. I’m glad to hear you are working on something! I’m assuming the images that are wrapped in that div (with the float: right) are his attempt at fixing the issue.
And it definitely seems like captions break images even on single post pages. Doesn’t it?
I’ll wait for an update. But I’ve bookmarked the theme. It really looks terrific!!
The update will be released by tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the update but at the moment I’m not sure if all changes I’ve made so far within the css and the other code will be gone after updating.
Though it says that the theme is supported by IE7 I got feedback from people using this browser that the second level dropdown menue disappears on mouse-over behind the subline row (the line where also the searchbox is located). How can this problem be solved?
If you’ve modified any templates or css, your changes will be overwritten by the latest update. I’d recommend using some version compare software, here’s one I found with a quick search:

Can you post a screenshot of the bug you’re seeing?

Much appreciated
Hi
When I add something into the “VIDEO EMBED ” box and save it, nothing happens and the video embed code disappears.
Am I missing something?
- Stephen
I’ll look into this and get back to you.
Hi, I’m new to Themeforest so I apologize if this is a stupid question. I’m thinking about buying this theme for my self-hosted Wordpress blog, but before I do I wanted to ask:
Does this theme support/allow Google AdSense ads? Tower format, mainly.
thanks.
Hi, I went ahead and bought the Notebook theme. So far, so good. Google AdSense is working fine. One big question though: How do I make it display a “Home” or “Front Page” button on the navigation bar? I keep seeing answers online about modifying the functions.php file, but nothing I’ve found so far seems to work. I want a “Home” button to be on the nav bar so that users can immediately jump to the home page wherever they may be.
You’ll use Appearance > Menus to build out your navigation, the Home button will be a Custom Link — Label: Home, URL : /
More on the Menus panel here:

Hello, I’m a novice user of WordPress and bought your theme before your latest update came out. I’m having a few issues that look like they may go away if I apply the update – how exactly do I do that?
Hello, I’ve validated that I am running the latest version (1.0.8). However, I’m still having the issue where the image shows up at the top of the page (or as previous users have stated “doubling up”) as an enlarged image. I simply just want to have it where I specify it to be on the page. Can you please help me to correct?
Shoot me an email and I can send you some modified files.
Hello again, sorry for the multiple emails. You can disregard my previous two posts as I’ve been able to figure those things out. Here is my latest question:
Is there a way to display forward and backward navigation links in each single post? What I mean is, in other themes, if I am looking at a single post, I see something like “next post” and “previous post” links either on top or at the bottom of each post. How can that be done in Notebook?
Yes, you’ll need to add next_post_link(); and previous_post_link(); to the single.php template.

Just wanted to say an excellent theme!
It takes a while to get into it and customize it according to your wishes and needs (especially if you like me already have a well established blog with a couple of hundred posts and a dozen of categories) but once everything is in place it is really nice.
Much appreciated, thanks for your purchase.
Oh and by the way, the support is speedy and excellent!
Thank ya
Hi
I am interesting in buying this for a techie blog. Just wondered if this allows different layouts say for different types of post. e.g. full screen layout for a a detail article and perhaps a slimmer layout for a simple set of instructions.
Although I am new to wordpress/php I am not new to programming so I don’t mind a bit of customisation.
Anythings possible, just depends on your skillsets.
Hi
Hmmmm. I can code if necssary…..so how easy would it be to get different types of layouts i prevuoussly describe with this theme?
Again the difficulty all depends on your knowledge of WP and the code
Just want to say thanks to you and your team on all the quick support you’ve given. This is a really nice theme and I’d highly recommend to anyone.
Thanks!
Much appreciated!
I am new to WP, I’ve downloaded the theme and installed it. But I can’t figure out how to to add menu items. Say, I want to have Home, Video, Articles, Images, About and Contact. I understand About, contact would be some new pages I created. But how to add them to be seen on menu bar? And as for Video, Articles and Images, they should automatically display the filtered categorized posts from all the posts I have? But how do I make this happen?
The other question is about posting the images and videos. For example, in my “Test” post, I used the default insert image from WP and also add Custom Fields image url, I noticed that the image added from custom fields is displayed at the very beginning of the post. How do I change the position of it? Say, I would like it to be in the middle of the post or in the end of all the text. And same question with video post. I’ve tried both insert video from default WP dashboard option and also tried the custom field embed code. How do I change the position of the custom-field-added video? And how do I change the size of the video frame? I’ve tried to change the width and height of the embed code with no success.

Detailed explanation will be appreciated. Thanks!
You’ll build your navigation with Appearance > Menus, see below:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_SubPanel
In regards to the image, there’s an auto post image function by default. Shoot me a message from my profile and I can send you some modded files which removes this feature.
Is it possible to translate this template in dutch myself?
Yes, pretty easily — there’s really no hard-coded verbiage except for footer.php. I plan to make it translation ready in the next update.
