Just want to thank you for your great work with this nice theme and mostly, your great and immediate help to a wordpress newbie’s all sorts of questions. Thank you!!! Would like to see more of your nice work in the future!
Not a problem, thanks again for your purchase.
I would like to use the post format function of WP 3 .1 instead of the WooThemes plugin. Will that be possible in the future?
This theme was built specific for the Woo Tumblog plugin, so most likely not.
Too bad, it’s a nice theme
I’m interested in this theme but not sure what all this stuff is about it working like tumblr & it using the WooThemes plugin tumblog posting format….. could you explain further?
Wish it was just a normal theme.
It functions as Tumblog and a regular WordPress theme, so you have the option of either.
I’m confused….. you say it can run as a WP theme but then told “Elgervdwel” above that it can’t function like normal WP does with regards to the posting or something?
That was in regards to using WP 3 .1 post formats instead of the Tumblog function, you can still make regular blog posts and create pages as a normal WP theme.
I haven’t upgraded to WP 3 .1 yet on my other blog, but will be installing it on the new blog.
Does it contain something new? What exactly is the tumblog function exactly anyway?
Take a look at this:

Ok thanks!
Hey man,
Great theme – it’s user friendly, versatile, & looks awesome. My developer friend was helping me to set up this blog & got me 90% of the way there… The rest I’ve been learning as I go. I have some knowledge of CSS , but not even close to a pro…
One thing that has stumped me… It seems that the “search bar” has moved in the header section. How do I get it to center properly?
Here’s a link so you can see what I mean.

Thanks again for a great theme & all your support!
Kev
Just checked the link and it looks to be aligned properly, guessing you got it sorted?
Ya i got it. Thanks again. Really great theme – I love it!
Probably a dumb question, but for the life of me i can’t figure it out. I recently added a custom header to my blog but I cannot figure out how to remove the “notebook” link that also resides up there. When it’s clicked it just reroutes you to the home page (Im sure you know this).
How do I remove it?
Thanks.
You can upload a transparent .png or .gif in the custom logo field, and that will get rid of the logo.
Thank you so much!! One final nit-picky question but I can’t seem to get the Tag bar to change colors. The option comes up just fine, and it saves with the color code in the appropriate feed, but alas it’s still red. Did I miss something?
Do you mean the post tags on the left? Or the actual textual tags beneath each post?
I am referencing the top red bar that has the editable tag line and search bar in it. Sorry for the confusion.
Shoot me your login details via my profile and I’ll take a look.
Can you please let me know how I would adjust the theme to display the entire post on the home page instead of just a snippet?
Many thanks!
Replace your index.php with the below:

Thanks for the AMAZING support!
One more question…I don’t want to use a logo, just a header that I’ve customized. I can’t seem to get the Notebook logo to disappear without putting a dummy http:// address in the custom logo box. When I do that however, the broken link shows up in the header. How would I modify that so that it isn’t looking for a logo?
Thanks again!
Just upload a transparent PNG into the Custom Logo field, and you’ll be good to go.
Hi!
Love this theme. Just a quick question, how can I change the sizing of the sidebar blog & pages – its way too small for most widgets I need – eg. the ‘like’ facebook plugin. Is there any easy way to expand this widget area? I have a bad feeling it will also mean expanding my header graphic… but that’s okay!
Thanks for your help.
Ya, you’ll need to adjust the overall width of the theme, which will affect the header and footer.
I am thinking about purchasing this theme- it looks great! I just want to ask a couple questions…. I don’t know all the programming terminology so I want to make sure I understand what this theme can and can’t do before I buy. So please excuse my stupid questions.
First off, in the explanation of the theme in the right column, it says “Valid HTML No”. What does this mean? Does that mean the posts don’t have the ‘visual’ and ‘html’ tabs?
In terms of the colour customization… it says unlimited. Does that mean that the user can easily pick colours for each different aspect of the template (links, background, menu’s, ect) or that it comes with unlimited coordinating skins that you pick from that change all the colours at once. Or does one have to use the style sheets to change colors? Essentially, how user friendly is this?
Thanks!
Just purchased this theme.. excited to start playing with it. One problem. When I upload it to wordpress from the .zip file it says the style sheet is missing. Why would the file be missing a style sheet?
Make sure you’re only uploading the notebook.zip and not the entire main zip file you downloaded from ThemeForest.
Perfect, that fixed that, thank you.
More questions though. 1. How do I get the “Notebook” out of my banner? and 2. How do I get the posts to show full text rather then just a few lines? Can I get it to show the full text for, lets say, 3 posts and then have pictures/links to 3-4 more posts? 3. I am trying to change the skin of the theme- particularly the red where the search bar is. I am choosing different colors, but it doesn’t seem to be actually applying in the theme when I save changes. ???
Thanks.

Howdy! The tumblog format really works great for my site and your design is really clean and attractive. Two bits of functionality I wanted to ask about that are keeping me from locking down my active theme:
Any chance for a widgetized footer? Given a couple of my widgets don’t really work in the width provided for the sidebar (see http://gamerrant.com and notice the Xbox Live badge which doesn’t center in its box) a customizable footer might be the solution.
An option to allow full-height images in articles would be greatly appreciated. I understand the formatting choice, but personally I can live with a fixed width, just not a fixed height, unless the full height version is shown on the article page. I don’t want to have to pre-plan the image height just for this theme given my own experimentation with my site, so I upload the image I want to be displayed. WP Notebook then clips that image for display while other themes show it sized proportionally with the article. Allowing that option would really help.
Thanks again for the great theme and the introduction to the WordPress tumblog style!
Chris has restored my faith in customer service! Thank you responding to my many newbie questions so quickly. Love the theme and the ability to change colors so easily.

Thanks Debra, much appreciated
Just purchased this theme a couple of days ago, and am really liking it so far. I ran into a couple of minor problems though. First, I don’t know if this is just a problem with WP 3 .2 (which is what I’m using), but without the following CSS the tumblog taxonomy words appear underneath the icons—i.e., the word ‘Quotes’ appears underneath the quote icon, the word ‘Audio’ appears underneath the audio icon, the word ‘Video’ appears underneath the video icon, etc.
.post-icon a { display:none; }Second, without a float declaration in the div tag the alignment for images in an article that have a caption doesn’t work. In other words, if I place an image at the beginning of an paragraph, add a caption, and then specify that I want it to be right-aligned, after updating/publishing the post, the image is doesn’t align to the right. What happens is the paragraph of text which is supposed wrap to the left of and below the image is displayed below (separate from) the image entirely. Once I put a float in, however, it worked…like this:
div.alignright { float:right; }Third, I figured out how to control the length of excerpts/teasers, as well as customizing the “read more…” text, but it would be very nice if there was a way to do it without having to modify your theme (index.php)—e.g., make excerpt/content, as well as the read more text, part of the theme settings.
Thanks!
One other quick question that may be of interest to others here. I can’t figure out how to use/activate the contact form. I know it must be something simple, but other than the first question in the FAQ I ’m not seeing anything in the documentation that would help me.
Create a new Page > Select Contact from the Templates select.
First thing first. This theme is great and Chris’ customer service is absolutely top notch. He has helped me troubleshoot a number of issues over skype, and couldn’t have been friendlier. I’ve decided to ask this question in the comments section because I’ve seen other people ask about it, and I couldn’t find a definitive answer.
How do I post images so that there is no computer generated preview? The only image I want to see in the post, on the index page, anywhere, is the the one that I upload. An easy to read step by step explanation for non-coders would be highly appreciated
Also, I don’t know if anybody else is running into this, sometimes when the pages load, the body of the blog breaks through the footer. Other times the exact same page will load correctly. Has anybody else run into this? Is there a fix so that it will load correctly always?
Much appreciated, replace the following files, and the auto post image will be removed.
What browser are you seeing the footer issue in? Could you shoot me a screenshot?
Thanks Chris.
The new code got rid of the generated preview pics, but now there are no pics unless I click through to the actual post. How can I fix this?
As for the footer issue, it is on safari, and it only happens sometimes. I have a picture, where can I send it?
Thanks for the quick response.
You could just replace your single.php and that will leave the auto post thumbs everywhere else.
I’m trying to format it so that the entire picture shows up on the index and archive pages, as well as on the single page.
Did you figure out a way to display the full image on the index and archive pages?
Yes, you’ll need to use the original index.php and archive.php and not the updated I posted above.
Chris, I replaced the provided code with the original code and the computer generated thumbs are back. What code do I need to showcase the entire picture in the index and the archive? If I can’t achieve this effect, the theme is useless to me as my blog mainly consists of posting photos.
You could replace line 451 in notebook > admin > theme_functions.php > with:
And it won’t crop the height
It is still cropping the height, although much less. But now the pictures are flowing over text and page formatting. Not good. Have a look http://mittensandbeer.com.
Change line 106 in style.css to 100% and you’ll be good to go.
That did it 100 percent!!! Thanks Chris!
