wow thanks for the fast help!

line 104 in superfish.css brought the nav up, cool.

that exclude line makes sense, but I’ve tried it and it makes both those categories appear.

Any other thoughts on excluding those categories from the Nav? Perhaps I have done something wrong in setting up categories?

Not a problem, you’ll need to replace the two numbers at the end with your category numbers – the “2” & “6” are just for examples

never mind, got it by removing the whole line:

<?php wp_list_categories(‘orderby=ASC&show_count=0&title_li=&exclude=’.$featuredcategory); ?>

5 STARS , great theme.

Any help with creating drop-downs in the nav? Theme is great! Thanks!

Thanks for your purchase, the dropdowns are automatic. All you need to do is create the categories and sub-categories assign posts to them and they’ll automatically populate in the navigation bar.

I am not able to find the featured category. The only categories I see are the ones created myself. I hope i did not accidentally delete that category. If by chance I did is there a way to fix this. Also I should be able to find the ‘Featured’ category listed under categories when I am making a new post correct?

Hi. Thank you for your purchase. As per the “Getting Started” section in the help file you’ll need to create the Featured & Blog category in your Admin, then you’ll need to assign atleast one post to each before they will appear in the dropdowns on the Customization Panel. Then you’re ready to go.

1. I am having trouble with posting an image. The help file states the following: ‘while still in the “Add and Image” window you’ll notice the “Link URL ” field’

When I upload the image I don’t see a field labeled “Link URL ”.

2. Also, should the categories I created appear as a horizontal menu by default? Because they are a simple list. I do have the superfish CSS file in the right place.

1. You’ll see it towards the bottom.

2. They shouldn’t it sounds like the nav stylesheet isnt loading, did you upload the theme directly into your themes directory? And not into a subfolder? This is probably the issue.

You were right about the file being in a sub-folder. Your tip fixed the menu issue straight away. THANKS !!!

However I still do not see the “Link URL ” field when uploading graphics:-(

Here is a screengrab of exactly what I see: http://www.seebarackrun.com/testing/screengrab.png

Also, many thanks for your quick responses and great theme:-)

No problem, if you go into a post you would like to add an image to and open up the Media Library (by clicking the small photo icon above the content toolbar) once you select a photo you’ll see the File URL field.

Hello,

Love the theme. Question: Can I make it so that for each category the pic slider displays more or less than 4 pictures? Let me know. Thanks,

John

Yes this is very easily done by editing a few lines in the template and functions.php file.

Which lines? Is there a template.php file?

I have the exact same question as Pearible above. About a month ago, he asks:

“Is there a way to change the number of “featured” items on the home page, or number of images on posts? I love the effect, but I don’t want 8 featured entries for the home page, and I’d love to have the option of having fewer (or more) sliding images on the entry pages.

Right now, if there’s nothing there (featured post, or image) then there’s just a blank space that gets cycled through.

and you answered:

Yes, you need to change this bit on line 10

numberposts=8to the number of posts you would like to display and also make sure to change lines 26-33 to correspond to the number on line 10

And my follow-up is: Line 10 on which page exactly?

And what about the individual posts with the 4 images – same type of deal? Is it a once for all posts setting (if I set it to 2, all posts only get 2 images to slide through) or can it be set on a per post basis?

Thanks!”

Pearible figured it out… but didn’t document his findings :( Can you please post an answer to this question with specifics? I’ve found the places you mentioned in the code, but need specific direction. Thanks so much!!

The featured slider resides in index.php

Featured Slider: Change this bit on line 10

numberposts=8

To the number of posts you would like to display and also make sure to change lines 26-33 to correspond to the number on line 10

The two sliders for the blog and portfolio entries are in single.php

To add more images its a bit difficult to explain, and is a little more advanced. To remove images you’ll just need to remove each image if statement you dont want on single.php

Blog Category:

Image One, lines 21-27 Image Two, lines 28-34 Image Three, lines 35-41 Image Four, lines 42-48

Remember you’ll need to modify lines 52-55 to correspond to the number of images you have.

Portfolio Category:

Image One, lines 94-100 Image Two, lines 101-107 Image Three, lines 109-114 Image Four, lines 115-121

Again remember you’ll need to modify lines 125-128 to correspond to the number of images you have.

So, by the way it sounds… each category slider has to feature the same number of photos across the board for each category…

Is it correct that I CANNOT have a portfolio entry with one photo, then another portfolio entry with three photos? I’m fine with a LIMIT of four images. Though if I have a have a portfolio entry with ONE photo, and I set the default to three or four, is there no way to control exceptions? Not all of my projects carry the same amount of support images.

If the answer is “No.”, that’s fine. But if it’s “Yes.”, is it too difficult to explain?

Thanks for your promptness!

This is why its setup to insert the default photo if the user inputted photo doesn’t exist. Through more programming it would be possible to just display one photo, or two or three, etc…but that would be a little difficult to explain how to do.

Got it… that’s fine. I’ll work with the code based on the direction you’ve provided above and continue on… Thanks again for your quick response.

Maybe including the ability to easily modify this would be a great feature for a future release?? I would definitely buy.
