very nice and clean …

I have a question: in portfolio single-posts I need the “auto” size for the featured images – how can I get this?

And another: in which file I can edit the blockquote-tag?

Regard, r.

DryThemes

Hi rappel, thanks for purchasing :)

For portfolio single post – can you be more specific. We use custom image sizes so feature image can fit in our design. If you want different look (size), you will need to modify functions.php file, and feature image part.

As for the blockquote – It’s not a custom tag, it’s just a regular wordpress paragraph with blockquote class, you can add your own style in common.css file on line 374.

Enjoy :)

What a fantastic theme!

I just wished that the blog design was the same as the portfolio show off. Hope you are doing this in a future update.

And what about mobile support?

DryThemes

Hey thanks, I’m glad you like it. Maybe in some other ver. Portfolio and blog is different attentionally :) If you wish to be the same, it’s just a minor code change.

Wp Show Off – Portfolio & Blog WordPress Theme UPDATED to ver.1.1. Smaller bugs fixed :)

Enjoy

Hi ! Nice theme ! Are you working on a html version ? Thank’s ;)

DryThemes

Hey Fenjislaan,

thanks Buddy. No, html ver. is not in our plan for now. I’m glad you like the theme :)

The images above pages are not working correctly. The only way it will show up is if I add the image to the content of the page, then it appears twice. Same with the blog images.

Also: is there any way that I can remove the post tags from the left of pages that I don’t want it to appear on?

Is there something wrong with how the featured image integrates into the theme? The documentation doesn’t seem to have any level of detail about images at the top of pages or anything.

Thanks for helping with this.

DryThemes

Did you set this page as front page? Go to the “Readings Settings” section, and set front page display to following: - Choose static page radio button. - As front page select “Portfolio” page. Please see Theme Setup section in documentation.

Thanks

I looked at the theme setup in the documentation, and it says nothing about how to make a portfolio function outside of it being your home page. I don’t want it to be my home page, I want it to be a section of my website.

Is this even possible? I seems like there are a few serious limitations, if so – I am hoping not. I would really like to use it, I like the design. Things like that really shouldn’t be that difficult to figure out or be that limited.

Hi fujicanon, sorry, we didn’t see your comment. Well, this theme is designed to be portfolio, so portfolio is home page.

About flashing, can you send us at support.drythemes.com your website url, and we will investigate that.

BTW , we will release one major theme update by the end of the next week. We appreciate our customers, and special thanks to you, and kbarczuk for your suggestions. We will fix some minor bugs, and custom size image upload will be available, along with options to choose which images you want at the top (slider), so we can avoid showing all uploaded images there.

Apparently I had the same problem as above poster. I would not recommend this theme if you want to upload photos in various sizes for the portfolio section, in blog posts, or on pages. This theme automatically puts all “attached” photos in the top 714×370 slider, in fact you get an error if you try uploading a picture smaller than that! You cannot have a photo on a page that is not also in that top slider. Weird. It also generates the square thumbnail from the 714×370 image, so there is not much control, it just crops the center of the image I think. I would like to be able to upload separate smaller (squarer) image for thumbnail. The design sold me (it’s very nice), but the functionality is lacking. I will be buying something else for my project…

DryThemes

Hello kbarczuk. thanks for purchasing the template.

If you try to upload smaller image than 714px as top image, you’ll get the error. That’s not the bug, it’s just the way theme works. Why? Because of two things: First: If you have larger image (let’s say 1500px), theme will automatically resize that image to 714px and will fit in the design perfectly like we have on the demo. Second: Smaller featured images than 714px will look really bad. You’ll have awkward withe space (check: http://i.imgur.com/9GhMh.jpg ) and that’s why we prevented that and fixed featured image to 714px. So, you think that’s lack of feature and we think it’s a great thing. Customers do not have to use external software like photoshop for crop and resize.

Portfolio section looks just like we show you on our demo ( http://drythemes.com/demo/wpshowoff/ ). No larger containers, or larger and smaller images. That will scientifically change our design.

And one more thing mate, theme does NOT automatically puts all attached photos at the top 714px slide like you said. Theme puts there just “featured” images. You can attach/upload tons of images, but theme will show just “featured” ones that you pick.

We are glad you like our design Bud :)

Perhaps this theme is too simple for me then, I am a professional designer that uses Photoshop, and I just want to be able to add images (smaller than 714 so they don’t look squished) to my portfolio posts without them automatically appearing in the top image.

I understand why the top image needs to be 714 wide.

But how do you upload an image that is under 714 pixels wide then? When I click Media from the left nav and upload that way, I still get an error that says “Image dimensions are too small”. Uploading this way should not be attached or set as feature image for anything, so you are saying this should work! It does not.

And how do you specifically set the images for the top image? Set as featured image? Your documentation is not very good on this. I uploaded 2 images for this page: http://teamdesign.com/portfolio/table-mountain-creative-concrete/ ... I did not set either as the featured image, yet they both appear in the top image. So this seems like a bug to me, because your last paragraph says I should be able to use photos in my content that do not appear in the top image.

Why don’t you try uploading some smaller images to one of your portfolio posts on the demo and see what happens.

DryThemes

Hi kbarczuk,
it seams that we misunderstand eachother, and sorry about that mate.
Yes, this is a simple theme, and we try to keep it simple because we didn’t want to use any custom tags, and stuf like that to confuse our clients. So this theme have some limitations. One of them are small images. As for the documentation, we will have an update on that.
As you notice, all uploaded images in blog/portfolio post will be displayed at the top of your post.
Only one of them, which is selected as featured image will be cropped and displayed on the front page like thumbnail. Anyway, I like how you started with your teamdesign site. Looks promising.

nice theme

Hey dalemo, thanks Bud :)

Haven’t received an answer on these items. Maybe they were overlooked. I’ll paste them below, for reference again. An answer would be nice. :)

Also: It seems that when there is an image on a page, and it uses it at the top – it flashes every once in a while, like it’s trying to cycle through a set of multiple images, but there is only one image on that page/post. It looks unprofessional, is there a way to prevent that, or is it just a bug in the code?

Hi all,
we updated the theme to new version 1.3
What we updated:
- No more image size limitation for posts.
- You can chose which photos you want to include into the slider above the post with just one click in your media dialog window (no additional tags).
- Fixed flickering if you have only one photo in slider.
- Documentation.

Enjoy :)

Thanks for the update. I downloaded it, but when trying to install it says “Image dimensions are too small. Minimum width is 714px. Uploaded image width is px” I am uploading through the WP amin site, not FTP . Just so you know.

Thanks again, looking forward to those fixes. :)

DryThemes

Hi fujicanon,
you can delete previous ver. and try to upload new ver. through the WP admin panel. That should work :)
