when I click on the category, no item shows up, but the items is on the recently added list on the left hand column. When click on the item there, it give me an error.

It does not seem that you have set a static front page yet or that you have updated your theme settings so I would encourage you to do so

Also, why is the category showing up on top as part of the pages?

I was wondering if it’s possible to remove comments from the featured products page, but not the blog pages? I have unchecked the allow comments checkbox, but the comment box still appears under the product pages. I can removed the comments php out of the single.php file, but then it’s also removed from the blog posts – which I want to remain. Any help? Thanks!

The comments are optional both on blog posts and product posts. Do you have the latest version of the theme? There was a small bug but it has long been fixed.
