Love it.

One question, is there a way to make the menu not follow as you scroll? Can it be stuck at the top of the page?

iKreativ

Sure, just a little tweak to the JS and CSS .

I was wondering if there was a way to change the size of the logo? This is the exact template I want if I could have a responsive logo that is larger on the desktop and gets smaller for mobile. Is that even possible?

iKreativ

Very easily actually. You can just add width/height for the logo in the media queries in application.css

Hi, I’ve purchased the writer theme a few days ago. I’m still struggling with the blog feature How can I assign the articles to that blog page. By now (blog) articles are assigned to the home menu. Thanks for your quick help. Best,

iKreativ

This is a default Wordpress setting. Go to Settings > Reading. There you can set the page to display for Home and Blog.

Ok, thanks for the quick feedback. It’s a helpful hint but doesn’t resolve my problem. I’ve created pages that I use as the headers in the menu. No I’d like to add article to the blog category (as you use it in your sample http://themes.ikreativ.com) 1) What’s the category (page, article, portfolio) of your blog menu 2) How do I assign an article to the blog menu 2) How can I remove the part under an article saying “this article is xy words long” Thanks again for your quick help. Best

iKreativ

I don’t think I understand.

Create a page for home and a page for blog, from settings > reading assign those to the relevant sections then create posts as you wish, they will go into the blog page.

To remove the info open index.php and remove the include for postinfo.

Mmmh. Ok I try to explain it again: On my website I have a menu (all pages) including about, work, contact, etc.). 1) On the home page I’d like to show my logo (a .jpg), the menu and a picture. If I change this article to a home template (instead of standard), the picture looks different (incl. home in a black box) and it’s not responsive anymore. Beside that I don’t need our latest projects. 2) How can I create a blog page & how can I assign articles that they should appear under blog and not under work, etc. There is no such option. I have seen the seetings>reading assign but this doesn’t solve my problem. Thanks again for your support. Best.

iKreativ

The home page template uses the slider to display your images. You can disable the latest projects from the Builder panel.

For your blog, create a page, use the default template and then assign that page as the blog from Settings > Reading.

Thinking of buying this but on large screens the slider image aligns left?

iKreativ

It depends whether you’re just resizing the browser or using a device/resolution that it’s mean’t for.

I’m on a 1920×1200 resolution and it will look the same down to iPhone. If you just scale your browser up/down then it will move until it hits the next media query.

Default-user

Doesn’t work for larger resolutions, Im on an iMac 27 inch. Can you make it scale for that ?

iKreativ

You can just duplicate the media query for the largest and just change the width on the query.

Default-user

How?

iKreativ

In application.css scroll to the last media query at the bottom. Copy paste in UNDER itself then change the width in the query from 1599 to suit.

It’s kinda hard for me to test as I only got a 24 but I will do my best to help you with this as I can add it to the theme as an update.

Default-user

No doesn’t work :(

iKreativ

Take a screenshot of it in browser and email it to hello[AT]ikreativ[DOT]com

Was so nice I bought it!

For the social media icons at the bottom, I only want twitter. I’ve managed to get rid of them by editing the css but how can I center just the twitter icon? The off centerness is killing me and I’ve tried to find the correct css to edit it but can’t find it.

iKreativ

Haha nice!

application.css #social, just give it a fixed width and margin: 0 auto should do it.

Great theme!

Anyway, i noticed that the contact form is a bit off to the left, on a white background you cant really see it but on a black one yes. Is there any way to fix that? It’s visible in your demo as well if you look hard enough ;)

iKreativ

I don’t understand what you’re asking? Screenshot?

Hey, sorry for that…

What i meant is that the fields of the contact form are a bit off (moved to the right) when compared to the dotted lines under the menu and the footer, it’s like the whole contact form is moved to the right a few millimeters and is not in line with the menu and the footer. You can see it in your demo as well…

I’ve sent you an email with a picture showing exactly what i mean, thx a lot

iKreativ

Ahh gotcha, yeah looks like padding is off ever so slightly. I’ll put it in the next update.

You’ll get an update notification in Builder options panel when it’s ready!

Thanks.

Hi! I just downloaded this theme, I love the simplicity! I just have a few questions and I’m hoping you can give me some suggestions.

1. I would like to know if it’s possible to edit the slider transitions at all. If not, is there another slider that would ‘play well’ with the theme. I tried adding a couple in as plugins but they seemed to throw off the layout.

2. I would like to add social share icons for pinterest/FB like to the bottom of each post but I would like them to match the simple design of the existing social icons. Is there a plugin you would recommend, or should I do this manually?

3. How can I change the normal text font? I went into the CSS and tried to replace ‘SP Sans’ with another Google web font but it didn’t work. Is there a simple fix for this?

4. Is there an easy way to increase the entire width of the posts content (inserted images & text) so that they can be as wide as the Featured Image without creating issues with responsiveness, etc?

Thanks for your help! I’m still learning!

iKreativ

1) It uses Nivo Slider so yes, open /inc/slider.php check Nivo’s site for full options.

2) I’d say manually.

3) Yes, whatever you change the font to in the CSS you need to change in header.php too so the font is loaded for use: http://d.pr/i/eQ7B Change ONLY the PT Sans at the bottom.

4) Not unless you modified the responsive queries too.

Love the theme! Newer user to WordPress here, quick question about getting updates for the theme. You mention and Ive noticed the updates part in Builder. And it mentions to go to point of purchase in order to download update. Just wondering where the heck do I go for the point of purchase/update?? Thanks so much in advance!

iKreativ

Where you bought the theme, it this case here lol. Go to your downloads.

Thanks for the response!

I was able to change the slider transitions. However, I couldn’t find the css to get rid of the overlay box on the slider. Even when my slides have no caption, there’s a little grey box showing up at the bottom left corner of the slider.

iKreativ

If you’re using captions on some but not on others the best way would be to use and if/else statement to add the captions or you’d end up hiding them all via CSS .

If you’d like to hide them via CSS look in application.css for #slider .nivo-caption and add display: none!important; to that rule.

For some reason my slider isn’t showing up. I added a New Slide, set it as the featured image and saved it using a title that would show up as the caption. So… why isn’t the slider showing up?

Many Thanks for your help in advance!

iKreativ

Create a page for home, set it to use the home page template and then from settings > reading set that page as home.

Thanks again, I figured out the box on the slider, I actually had to change the background element in #slider .nivo-caption to ‘none’ because even after I did .nivo-caption display: none;, the box was still showing up.

I have two more questions :)

1. The slider seems to be scaling up my images and cropping them off even though I’ve sized them proportionally to the slider and they are all the same size. I looked into ZC settings from Timthumb and tried to modify those but the crops were not changing. Here is the url for reference: http://www.birdandbeeweddings.com/kap/

2. Should there be a widget area option in the builder? I’ve seen it several times in the files but I don’t see any widget options on mine. I would like to add widgets on the footer area if possible.

Thanks!

Daniela

iKreativ

1) It’s upscaling because your original image is either too small or you need to select ‘fullsize’ from the uploader when setting the image: http://d.pr/i/ZQ8g

2) No, this theme doesn’t have widgets, you may see widgets referenced in the files but this is simply because I don’t strip out functionality from Builder even if it’s not used.

Developers sometimes like to use stuff that the theme was not mean’t for, hence leaving CSS and stuff intact.
