wonderfull theme.. I like it very much !
Just to know :
It seems that I cannot plug “column-matic” and “collapse-o-matic” from Plugin Oven (http://plugins.twinpictures.de/plugins/collapse-o-matic/)
Is there a conflict between their jquery and yours ? or other thing ?
Can I fix it ?
I didn’t saw the problem arrives… damned !

Also, before asking for help, please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the terms and conditions of the forum.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
I’ve been checking out this template and I really dig the look of it. One thing I wanted to know before I purchase, is can I change the maximum amount of portfolio items from 5 to say 8 or 9 with relative ease?
If so, i’ll definitely be purchasing this fantastic template.
glad you find the theme fantastic! Thanks for taking an interest in it!
As far as your question goes, you can actually put up to 10 images in the slider of every portfolio item you make, but there is a solution to easily expand that number to any number of images you need.
Have fun working with the Yin & Yang theme, if you end up buying it!
Excellenté. Purchased. Thanks
I’m probably overlooking something quite simple here, however, within the portfolio, i’m having trouble displaying both images & video. Everytime I embed a video in the folio, none of the images within the portfolio display. Is there a work-around for this, or am I simply overlooking something simple?
Great work btw, i love this template.
Fantastic! Thanks for your purchase, and the amazing compliment about the theme!
As far as your issue goes, there is a simple solution provided on the forums, found here: http://onioneye.ticksy.com/ticket/44681/
By the way, if you have any further support questions, please post there because this section is only used for pre-purchase questions. Thank you!
ah, ok. Thanks so much onioneye – great work!
We already post a message at the support forum, but no answer yet.
Our problem is: the portfolio at the homepage is sometimes refusing to open. We don’t know how to fix this. Clients can not see our projects, which is quite important.
Please send us a solution. Thanks!
By the way, great theme!
first of all, thank you so much for your purchase! Glad you find the theme great!
Now, as far as your issue goes, I am not sure how you haven’t noticed by now, but I acutally responded to your ticket more than two days ago. Here it is: http://onioneye.ticksy.com/ticket/102155/. Please provide your response as well, so we can continue our discussion over at the forum. Thank you!
Hi, really like this template and would like to purchase it, however there are a number of features/questions i’d like to clarify to ensure it meets my requirements:
1) In the demo version, there is a sliding footer that is hidden by default. Is it possible to change this to either a) disabled completedly or b) have it always visible by default?
2) With regards to the general font/typefaces and colour scheme in the template, can I change them to fonts/ colours that fit my site branding instead of using the default ones in the template?
3) I’ve seen in other templates where each porfolio item and also each blog post has the ‘like/heart’ option. I believe these are just Wordpress plugins. Can I add this plugin to the template if I wish? Will it be a conflict with your current code?
4) I would like to add sharing plugins to each blog post (i.e. ability to pin images) and also share the blog post to Twitter, FB, etc.. Can these be added in via plugins without conflicting with your current codes?
Apologies if these are quite stupid questions but I have not bought a wordpress template before so I wanted to be sure that the customizations I want to add to the template is possible before purchasing it.
Looked through some of the old comments and found out the answer to question 2) that I can change the fonts and colours via CSS.
Just wanted to add one last question I forgot earlier:
5) Is there an option that I can turn off the slider/slideshow of the portfolio items and instead have the images one after another?
p/s: I’m going through as much of the comments as I can to see if I can locate the answers myself in the meantime…
glad you like the theme! Thank you for taking it into consideration!
To answer your questions:
1a) Sure thing. You have an option in the theme to completely disable the footer overlay. Ease peasy for anyone.
1b) Having the overlay always visible by default isn’t available out of the box, but making it so shouldn’t be a tough job at all.
2) There are ton of excellent WordPress plugins, which will do the majority work for you, regarding the fonts, but some additional minor CSS adjustments would probably needed to make everything just right. Anyone with even the beginner’s knowledge of CSS shouldn’t have a problem with this, however.
3) By my knowledge, most of these are actually built into the theme, but I can not guarantee that, just like I can’t guarantee that any plugin you use will fit into the theme perfectly. That said, please bear in mind that the job of us authors is to ensure that the theme’s code is written in a way that minimizes the chances of conflicts with third party code (that of plugins), but that we can’t guarantee 100% compatibility with each and every plugin out there because there are literally tens of thousands of them. Testing the theme against every plugin would be next to impossible unfortunately.
Having said all that, if the plugin does not work, there are certainly other means of integrating your desired feature into the theme.
4) There are so many plugins of this kind available, so I am confident that most of them will work perfectly fine.
That’s it. Hope this helps in making your decision! Good luck working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
Thank you for the detailed response! Appreciate it.
I think you have missed out my original reply though that I have found the answer to no 2) and the additional question 5) Is there an option that I can turn off the slider/slideshow of the portfolio items and instead have the images one row after another?
Indeed, I missed out on the last one. You just need to omit the portfolio image fields, and put your images straight into the WordPress content editor instead ( the big text area that appears when you are editing your posts), and you should be fine!
Hello again, excellent!! Thank you ever so much for the quick response. Love the theme and am very excited to buy it and tinker with it soon (getting a new domain and webhosting sorted first…)
No problem! Glad I could be of some help.
Enjoy working with the theme!
Hello, Thanks so much for the theme ! Its wonderful ! Anyways, I am facing one slight problem. In my portfolio, where it says “ALL” the count should be the total of all my portfolio items but currently it is 0. For all my other portfolio items, the count is exactly how it should be. Please can you help ! What change shall I make to the code? Perhaps I had changed it around earlier thats why its showing up as 0. Not sure.
Thanks a lot
glad you find the theme wonderful! Thank you for your purchase, and your compliment.
As far as your issue goes, I responded to your ticket on the forums a few hours ago, so I would appreciate it if you could keep posting there because this section is only used for pre-purchase questions. Thank you!
I don’t know how to create a miniature on the portfolio !
Quick question about the blog single page and posting an image in a post.
When using featured image it tends to put the same size image in both places.
I want a thumbnail on the blog page, which I can scale, or not, and then a full sized image on the single page. Is it difficult to do this with your theme?
thank you for taking an interest in the Yin & Yang theme!
As far as your question goes, I don’t think that this should be hard to achieve in a lot of themes. In Yin & Yang in particular, only a few lines of custom code would be needed to implement this.
Hi I’ve been searching the comments for the answer to this question. I love this theme and I really want to use it for a food blog. I had two quick questions before purchasing..
1) Can the thumbnails on the main homepage (that displays multiple portfolio pieces) link to blog post items instead of portfolio pages (i.e. get rid of detailed portfolio page completely)?
2) Would you say this is a relatively easy theme to monetize, seo etc?
thank you for taking the Yin & Yang theme into consideration!
Regarding your questions:
1) This is potentially possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, and that is most definitely a task for a skillful developer.
2) Monetization is a bit vague. It mostly depends on you, but if you are looking to put some ads on your site, or something like that, then I don’t see why this would pose a problem. Regarding SEO, you can use a plugin like http://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/ to easily boost it.
Hope this helps! Enjoy working with the theme, if you end up buying it.
Quick question: “Can I update to WordPress 3.6.1 without any problems?
Yes, the theme is fully compatible with the latest version of WP, so there should be no problems. However, in the future, please direct your questions over to http://onioneye.ticksy.com/, as this section is only used for pre-purchase questions.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi! I’m interested in buying the theme, is it responsive? will it be responsive? can it be responsive through a plugin?
thanks for taking the Yin & Yang theme into consideration!
When it comes to your questions, the theme is unfortunately not responsive at the moment, but it should be perfectly usable on mobile devices, such as tablets.
There aren’t any plans at the moment to make the theme responsive, but that can easily change sometimes in the near future; however, I can’t really promise anything right now.
If you are explicitly out for responsiveness, and you like Yin & Yang, then I suggest you check out my latest theme, that is supposed to be available for sale later this week. It’s quite similar to this theme, but fully responsive and retina ready.
I wish you the best of luck whatever you choose the do!
thanks a lot, I’ll wait for the new one
You’re welcome! The new theme, codenamed “Tao”, was just given a green light by the review team behind ThemeForest, so I reckon it will be available for sale tomorrow, or after the weekend at the latest.
I’m a Chinese graphic designers,i like this theme, because the name like the asian culture.great!
glad you like the theme! Thank you for your purchase.
I am fascinated by eastern philosophy; therefore, the name behind the item.
Enjoy working with Yin & Yang,
By the way, if you like the name of this theme, then you are going to like the one of the latest theme as well, that is supposed to be out for sale this week. I named it “Tao”, after a Chinese concept.
Be glad to discuss with you the oriental culture.
However, I read a lot of books and found that Taoism is the ruling class use.
But everything is double-sided nature.
I’ll go watch your new theme!:)
I recently read some books written by Alan Watts, a man who popularized Eastern philosophies in the west, and was fascinated by the concept of Taoism, even though I have to admit I do not know the ins and outs of the subject. Anyway, the theme has just been given the green light by themeforest’s reviewers, so I reckon it will be visible in my portfolio tomorrow, or next week latest.
All the best,
Love your theme. Can I change the color? Yours is in black/white.
glad you love the theme! Thanks for taking it into consideration.
As far as your question goes, you can certainly change any colors in the theme, but this would require some development work on your behalf, since this is not available out of the box. You can always hire a freelancer to do this for you, if you are still interested in the theme, but don’t have any CSS knowledge.
Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
why don’t you create more color styles for this theme? Only in black and white will not be suitable for some requirements.
Simply because I didn’t have enough requests for a dark theme, and that applies to all of my themes. Besides, when you are making a WordPress theme, you can’t possibly cater to every single need of thousands of different people. That’s where customization services get in; to customize the theme to your liking and needs. Hope this clarifies things a bit.
Superb and easy to manage theme – great for any creative professional!
I had a little difficulty during the setup process, but my issue was quickly resolved by OnionEye via the support forum. Thanks!
thank you so much for the wonderful compliments about the theme! If you like it so much, then please consider rating it on your downloads page. It only takes a few seconds to do, and would help me out a lot as a developer!
Here is a screenshot depicting how to rate an item on ThemeForest, if you are not sure how to do so: http://www.diigo.com/item/image/1mr8l/py93?size=o
Hello Onioneye! i just purchased your theme, it looks awesome, but, I have a problem with the demo, i don’t a have a demo file, does it come with it? am i doing something wrong? please let me know
Here is the demo content file, in case you are in a hurry: http://ge.tt/6LiIzHH/v/0
Hi!. This theme looks perfect for what I will do. I just have a couple of questions:
1 – Can you choose to have a static start page? I don’t want the portfolio right from the start.
2 – Can you have multiple portfolios? I will need to divide the portfolios into commercial work and artist work, and I can’t rely on just the filtration.
thanks for taking the theme into consideration!
1) No problem. You can choose any page as your homepage, really.
2) Sorry to disappoint, but multiple portfolios aren’t available out of the box, meaning that some customization work would be required of you to make this happen.
I was wondering if it is possible to place an image or images in the DIV#intro-section of the site? I would like to instead of txt.
I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you, but all support is strictly handled via a dedicated support forum, available at http://onioneye.ticksy.com/, so please head out there to submit a ticket, and I will do my utmost to reply in a timely fashion, and help you out the best way I can. downloaded the theme, really love it, I do not know where the contact page is and how to make it appear on my homepage. How would I go about implementing the contact page.
I have a real important question:
Do you have a HTML5 template version of this? (a template you can use for personal website instead of WP theme)
If not, how do you convert it?
thank you for taking the theme into consideration!
As far as your question goes, I am a WordPress developer, and I only develop WordPress themes, so I unfortunately do not have an HTML Template version of the Yin & Yang theme.
In order to convert it, you would have to do it yourself, by going through the theme’s files and adjusting the code, or hire someone to do it for you.
Hope this helps. Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
Support forum used to be decent, but now it’s almost impossible to find answers to the simplest questions.
sorry to hear you are disappointed by the support forum. The tickets out there are growing exponentially every day, so I am giving my best to only show the most important comments on the homepage, that would benefit as many authors as possible. However, if you absolutely can not find an answer to your question, please feel free to post another ticket there, if your question is in line with the rules set in the terms & conditions section of the forum, available on the homepage as well.
There is no way to browse the support forum anymore. The link to archives has been removed. The only option is the search, which is worthless unless you have the exact matching phrase, and even then the search results deliver 3 or 4, usually unhelpful matches. I don’t know why you would purposely make the support forum LESS effective, and intentionally cut off users access to previously answered questions. Isn’t that what a support FORUM supposed to be? Now, it’s basically a help-desk ticket system. I’ve raised this issue in the “support forums” and your answer seems to be “Yes. That’s the way we are doing it now.”
Forgot to point this out too: 6400+ sales and if you click on FAQs in the support forums, there are exactly ZERO frequently asked questions. I wouldn’t say that is “giving your best to show the most important comments… to benefit as many authors as possible. The homepage shows exactly 15 questions, most of which are over 6 months old. I don’t understand how you could possibility imagine that the current support “forum” is useful to anyone.
there is a HUGE misunderstanding here; I didn’t remove any single thing. Ticksy, https://www.ticksy.com/ the forum/ticketing system, is developed and maintained by Justin Scheetz and his team, and I, like hundreds of other authors on ThemeForest, use it for providing support. That said, please read the following page on TF forum, to get a better idea of what’s going on with Ticksy: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/ticksy-support-your-products/53411?page=24. Also, please post there on the “Missing Archives” issue, to see if we can get a response from Justin on that matter. I will do so too now.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused, and I thank you for your understanding.
Justin just said that the Archives page has been fixed. You can read about it here: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/ticksy-support-your-products/53411?page=25
Oh yikes, yes definitely a big misunderstanding. The TF thread explains a LOT. I apologize. I will address the issue on that thread.
No problem, really. I’m actually glad you brought this up, and that Justin is now working on solving this.
How do I change the “portfolio” slug in this theme to say something else?
For example on my page TourOrDie.Com it displays as “tourordie.com/portfolio/[state name]” and I would rather “portfolio” be “events” in that URL.
What would I need to do to change that?
