Hello!

Love the theme. I want to use it for separating photo galleries, as well as multiple video galleries. Is it possible to have multiple video galleries? Separating such things as “Demos”, Music Videos”, “Commercials”.

I don’t want all my video’s grouping up on one page because they are categorized as a video in some way. It seems that’s the problem I’m having lately with wordpress themes and video stuff.

Id really like to purchase this theme soon. If you could only answer my question please. :)

Hi there,

glad you love the theme! Thank you for taking an interest in it. :)

As far as your question goes, I am afraid something like this is not available out of the box, unfortunately. It is possible though, but some customization work would be needed to achieve it, and that is most definitely a task for a skillful developer.

Enjoy working with the theme, if you still end up buying it!

P.S. Let me know if you have anything else on your mind, regarding the theme.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi I am thinking of purchasing maybe yin yang. It is so smooth! Want to use it for an update for a couple of sites! But at the moment I have been asked to update a site. I have put together a early prototype mockup. I am not totally worried about where we place the social media but need 4 columns. Guess I could add a plugin for columns. I would really appreciate ur feedback on whether this could work or if I should try another theme?. The original site is kind of ultra boring.. http://sydneydemocracynetwork.org.

Hi there,

glad you like the theme! Thank you for taking an interest in it! :)

Regarding your questions, you can use the following, excellent plugin, to easily insert a slider on a page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ml-slider/. After that, you can use the following columns plugin, to make any order of rows and columns below the slider: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-columns/. With the help of plugins and even default features, WordPress allows you to easily make many possible layouts.

However, please be aware that the header (menu, logo, tagline etc.) and footer are fixed, so if you want to change the layout there, you are going to have to do it through code.

Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it! :)

Hi this theme support woocommerce?

onioneye

Hi there,

thank you for taking an interest in the theme! Appreciate it.

As far as your question goes, I had a few clients, who integrated some e-commerce plugins in the theme, but in all honestly, I don’t know if everything worked straight out of the box for them, or if they had to customize some things, but I guess that with any plugin of this complexity, it might be required to modify some code, in order to make the plugin blend in with the theme, not only by design, but by functionality as well. Having said that, Yin & Yang is mainly a portfolio theme, so I would always recommend buying an e-commerce theme instead, for e-stores, but WordPress is full of excellent plugins that can transform a theme into anything you want, so I guess it’s all up to you now.

I hope this helps in choosing what’s best for you. Enjoy working with Yin & Yang, if you end up buying it! :)

Hi there,

I have a problem with the preview image of one of my portfolio’s videos. I used to upload the preview images easily but today I uploaded a new video and just can’t upload the preview image. I know you are talking about permissions but I don’t really know where to change the permission and how.

I did selected the “file URL” button as you suggested on the doc but it still doesn’t work

Here the link to my web: http://soundripples.co.uk/

Thanks

Chris

Hi! I downloaded and installed the Ying & Yang theme. Everything works fine, but nothing works at Appearance >> Theme options. When I press the save options button, it says “options saved” but then it becomes default mode right away…what can I do? ;(

The latest theme update broke my site. It changes things to rely on plugins (bummer) that were not there before. I installed these plugins but it still broke my site (I use a Child Theme). We need a heads up about changes like these. Luckily I kept the old theme folder but if someone doesn’t do this they will be in trouble. I posted in the support section but I am posting here so others can see before they install. Thanks.

onioneye

Issue addressed over the forum.

For all the rest of the people updating, please have in mind that the previous version of the theme will always be available for download upon request.

Other important things to have in mind:

1) Putting functionality into plugins is the way forward. Too often your content gets lost or broken after you change the theme. Plugins address that by keeping your content intact.

2) The theme is now much easier to use.

3) The quality of the code has improved immensely.

4) This is a big update, so things will have to be re-selected in the admin, to get the same look you had before. However, if you closely follow the new, much simplified documentation, from top to bottom, you should be able to recreate all of the functionality you have in place now, with the old version of the theme.

5) Please keep in mind that the Yin & Yang theme was made in 2011, so big changes were inevitable sometimes down the road, if I wanted to keep the theme running for many years. WordPress and the web in general advance so quickly that the theme can not keep using legacy features forever.

Thank you for your understanding.

after the last update the portfilio isnt shown anymore

Hi. I need a website to use as a html5 game portfolio. Each page will have a gallery, text informations and a game. The visitors will have free access to images and text information, but I need to control access to games by password.

See this example (http://peaksel.com/). After clicking on the image that appears on the home page, open the page of the game. In my case, it will be shown photos and some text will be included with game information and instead of video, the game itself will be shown if the password is entered.

This template is for what I want? Thank you.

onioneye

Hi there,

thank you for taking an interest in the theme!

Can you please explain what exactly you mean when you say that the game will be shown instead of the video? You mean screenshots of the game, or something else?

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Default-user

Hi. What I need is to show a image gallery, text and the game itself on a page after the visitor clicks on the image that appears on the homepage (gallery and game in the same area). However, the game could only be executed if the person has a password that I will provide.

onioneye

Hi there,

that is a very specific feature request (the password on the activation of the game), and as such, I do not believe you are going to find in any theme by default. It is possible to have it though, but some minor development work would be needed from you or your freelancer to achieve it.

By the way, I am not a game designer myself, so I am not sure what is involved in displaying a game on a website (the only thing I can imagine is that it’s possibly built in flash). If I were you, I would make sure that WordPress supports the type of technology you are using with your game.

Hope this helps.

Hi. I downloaded the latest version of the theme and it broke my site a bit, is there anyway to get the older version so I can revert until I get the newest version figured out?

Thanks!

onioneye

The previous version of the theme was just provided to you via the forum at http://onioneye.ticksy.com/.

For any further inquiries, please use the forum because this section is reserved for pre-purchase questions only.

Thank you for your understanding.

I’ve been trying to submit a ticket on your website but it keeps saving my purchase code is not valid. and clearly I did purchase the theme.

onioneye

Apologies for the inconvenience, but this was a problem caused by Envato’s API, which rendered the forum unusable for some customers yesterday. However, the issue has been fixed, so you can go on and submit the ticket successfully now.

More information on the Envato API failure can be found here: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/whats-wrong-with-envato-api/133707.

Hi! I love this design. Would the code work for other sites like Squarespace? Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you love the theme. Thank you for taking an interest in it!

I am not quite sure what you mean by your question. Do you mind elaborating it further? Maybe you meant to ask if the theme works for other CMSs (content management systems) as well?

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Default-user

Yes, I believe that is the correct terminology. I would like to use this theme with a CMS other than Word Press. Is that possible?

onioneye

I’m afraid WordPress themes can not be used for any other CMS, unless they are manually converted for usage on another system. The same goes for any other theme/template built for any other CMS.

Hi sorry to ask more questions before I buy this theme. 1. I may buy a few licences for different people – is their a group rate? (cheeky hey!) 2. if on the home page I have a visual link (category) to video work is there a way to have a link to a separate page for videos? And I notice the blog page has the widgets for social media feeds. I was wondering given this if it was possible to have a twitter feed widget on the footer area? Or would that require some coding?

Appreciate the help. Lovely theme

onioneye

Hi there,

no problem!

To answer your latest pre-purchase questions:

1) Envato, the company behind ThemeForest, handles all the pricing, and I’m afraid they don’t offer such deals.

2) This is not available out of the box, but is achievable with a bit of customization work. It shouldn’t be a tough task for a freelancer.

3) If you check the footer widget area (click the + button), you will see that there is already a twitter feed widget in there: http://onioneyethemes.com/yin-yang/.

Hope this answers your questions! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi there,

I have purchased your theme which I really like. Just would like to ask you about header. As I want to position logo image in middle which means no intro section. I have no problem to cut off intro section just if you could give me any hint how to position logo in middle.

Thanks so much,

David

Hi there.

Can I change the size of the logo in the header? Can I put it in the center?

Thanks :)

onioneye

Hi there,

thank you for taking an interest in the theme.

As far as your questions go, you can upload a logo of any size. However, to center the logo, one or two lines of custom CSS code would be needed.

Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it! :)

Hi there. Nice theme! Two things: 1) why not just include in the directions how to format the Contact option like you have in the demo? It seems like a very common question that purchasers are asking. You can save us time from having to register and log a ticket, and save you time from having to answer a question that is asked frequently.

2) The page sidebar option would be more useful if you allowed several “page with sidebar” options as a page template such as “page with sidebar 1”, “page with sidebar 2”, etc. and then have a widget area for each additional sidebar option. This would help for groups of pages that share the same sidebar content.

Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you find the theme nice! Thank you for your purchase.

To address your issues:

1) The solution has widely been available on the homepage of the forum for a long time now, although there are more opened tickets there recently, so it could be a bit harder to spot instantly.

Since the solution became available, I noticed that the questions related to the contact page were very rare, so I decided that there is no serious need in expanding the documentation to include this. On top of that, most clients were using the demo xml file to emulate the demo content.

Having said all that, I do agree that this is a good idea. Maybe I could have included it in the instructions, but I was lead into believing that it is OK as it is, given that the questions, as mentioned above, were not so frequent.

2) Hm, that’s a very good idea! I am not sure though, but the popular “custom sidebars” plugins may offer just that: https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/

Thank you for your valuable feedback!

My pleasure! :)

Hi,

I have a question about the theme.

On the demo on some of the portfolios categories where there is only 3 items the bottom of the page goes behind the portfolio image. Is that problem fixed in the theme if I purchase it?

Thanks

Chrys

onioneye

Hi Chrys,

that is very unusual. You are the first one who over reported this, out of almost 7000 purchasers and countless of other people interested in the theme. Therefore, I am guessing that this must be something related to your specific “testing environment.”

Can you please tell me which browser (including it’s version) are you to view the demo site, and which OS?

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Would i be able to get all of the codes you used in setting up this website as it is including font, sizes, colors etc?

Default-user

Does it take this long to get a response from the team, 17 hours?

onioneye

Hi there,

yes, by downloading the theme you will get the code exactly as you see in the demo. If you wish to have the demo content as well (demo menu items, pages, posts, images etc.), you can install the xml file provided in the download.

By the way, we are a small team and getting a response both in the forum and for the pre-purchase questions usually takes up to 24 hours.

Thank you for your understanding and for taking an interest in the theme.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi – iI LOVE your theme! But is it possible to do the yin yang navigation the other way up once u have clicked on portfolio item?

ie the portfolio item comes up below the other items rather than above? (to encourage people to glance over more items as they don’t have to scroll down)

my site is hawkevanzeller.co.uk

Default-user

thank you!

Default-user

we will give it a go just because I think it might be more intuitive…we’ll see!

onioneye

You are very much welcome. Good luck with the customization! :)
