Hi,

I have 2 more questions.

  • Is it possible to have a sidebar on the homepage/portfolio and decide how many columns there will be?
  • Is it possible to open with the first project on pageload default? Now you first have to click to have the detail view. So e.g. in your show template’s case, I would like to see immediately Quality estates investments open with the details and then be able to navigate with the arrows.

Thank you

Hey,

no problem, Spiv. I’ll be glad to answer all of your questions. :)

1) This is possible. However, unfortunately, it is not something which is included out of the box, so some degree of development work would be required of you to make it.

2) Sure thing! You can make any of the projects visible by default on initial pageload. Every project has its own link, that, when followed, shows the opened projects. For example, check out the first portfolio item, by following this link, to see how all this works: http://onioneyethemes.com/yin-and-yang/portfolio/quality-estate/.

I hope this helps!

Have lots of fun working with the Yin & Yang theme, if you end up buying it! :)

Hi,

So i tried the new theme and i love it, only i have two questions:

• Why doesn’t the menu appear on the top? • Can you change the colors of the portfolio items, now it is yellow, i would like them to be magenta.

Site to visit is www.buroseven.be (still working on it for the moment)

Thnx

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks a lot for buying it! :)

To answer your questions:

1) You probably aren’t setting the menu properly. Please read the “Custom Menus” section of the docs, and follow the directions there, to make it work.

2) Of course. You can change the background color of the active filter links in the style.css file (line 599). The selector is the following:

#filter .active a, #filter .active .term-name, #filter .active a:hover .term-name, #filter .active .term-count

I hope this helps!

By the way, the site is looking good at the moment. :)

OnionEye

Hi! Very nice theme!

can i ask you where i can modify the name “ALL” that appears in Portfolio?

Thank you very much!

Chris

onioneye

Hey Chris,

glad you like the theme! Thanks a bunch for buying it! :)

You can modify the mentioned text in the template-home.php file.

Best of luck,

OnionEye

Great theme! looks amazing. what font was used for the logo?

onioneye

Hey,

glad you find the theme amazing! :)

The font used for the logo is called “Bebas Neue.”

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi – LOVE the theme and will be purchasing in the next few days but had one quick question – in the blog the date images (circles) when you hover the colour changes to orange – is it possible to change the rollover colour?

Thank you

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you love the theme and that you’ll be purchasing it! :)

As far as the rollover color is concerned, changing it in the main stylesheet is a piece of cake.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi, I’m interested to buy your theme, but before that I have some questions: What if I have a lot of pictures? Will there be a second page, third, fourth …? Will I be able to determine the number of images that appear on every page?

Best Regards,

onioneye

Hey there,

thanks for taking an interest in the theme! :)

The content that you see when you click on a preview image/project is loaded via AJAX , meaning that it is not loaded together with the page, when somebody visits the site. Therefore, you can have lots of projects and still have the theme load very fast.

When it comes to pagination, it never shows; i.e. all of the projects are displayed at once on the homepage. However, this shouldn’t be a problem, but let’s take the following scenario to prove it:

Let’s say you have 50 projects on the homepage. The only thing which is loaded on the initial pageload is the item’s preview image, which weights somewhere about 8 KB on average. That means that 50 projects would cost you some 400 KBs in size, which adds almost nothing to the page loading time, unless you are still stuck with dial-up to access the web.

I hope this helps! :)

OnionEye

ibrandstudio

Hi, thanks for your answer. But I want only display 30 project then the other is on the second page, third page… Can I do that?

Because I plan to use this theme for a showcase design inspiration. And it could reach more than 500 designs.

I really hope it can.

onioneye

Hey there,

this is definitely possible. However, it is not something which is included out of the box, so some degree of development work would be required of you to make it. It shouldn’t be a problem at all for an experienced developer.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

I bought the template but hit a snag on the install. After successful install of zip into wordpress I got this msg:

PLEASE HELP ?

onioneye

Hey there,

Thanks for buying one of my themes! I truly appreciate it! :)

As far as your problem goes, you are not supposed to upload the whole folder, that you got, when you bought the theme. Please unzip the mentioned folder first and read the documentation within, that will guide you through the installation and the setup of the theme.

Good luck! :)

This did the trick. I had to ftp upload it to my server (used cyberduck) and then uploaded the zip in wordpress. Thanks!

onioneye

You are very much welcome! Glad to hear you got it sorted out! :)

Have lots of fun working with the theme.

Very nice theme, I’m very interested in buying, just 1 question.

Is there a way to change the fonts though-out the theme, NAV , Text, etc… to Helvetica or some other font?

Thanks.

onioneye

Web safe fonts like helvetica work because they are already installed on your computer. However, local fonts, such as the one you are trying to install, don’t work that way. Please use google web fonts to easily embed your fonts into the website. Read one of the following posts to learn how to do that:

http://www.wpinsite.com/code-snippets/how-to-add-google-fonts-to-your-wordpress-theme/ http://www.evolutionarydesigns.net/blog/2010/05/20/how-to-use-google-web-fonts-on-wordpress-and-other-sites/

Got it, got everything to chance besides the headline at the top, can you please help me change it to HELVETICA .

Thanks.

http://vladches.com/wordpress/
onioneye

Excellent!

To change the font of the headline, look for the following line of code in the style.css file, under the “Headings” section, and set the font to Helvetica in there:

#main-headline { text-transform: none; color: #333; margin: 0; padding-bottom: 9px; float: right; letter-spacing: normal; font: normal 15px/22px 'Merriweather', Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; }

By the way, nice lookin’ site you got there! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi there!

I do have to commend you on what looks like an incredible (and beautiful) theme! I was wondering two things:

1) Is the “Clients” section easily editable/hideable? We do not have many big name clients (yet!) and so is that something we could replace with something else?

also,

2) Can that portfolio easily be put on an inside page rather than the homepage?

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you find the theme beautiful! Thanks for taking an interest in it! :)

To answer your questions:

1) Sure thing! The “Clients” section only appears if you decide to include the logos of your clients in the theme.

2) Once again, sure thing! You can put it where you want, really.

Have lots of fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it! :)

Sincerely,

Hello,

Nice job!

But I have 2 problems.

1/ Thumbail doesn’t appear. I have already change the permissions but it doesn’t work.

2/ Images into the portfolio doesn’t appear: with this message warning:

Warning: Division by zero in /homez.168/clementdw/www/blogwordpress/wp-content/themes/yin_and_yang/function-includes/theme-functions.php on line 54

Thank’s a lot

onioneye

Hey there,

thanks for the compliment and for purchasing the theme! I truly appreciate it! :)

To answer your questions:

1 and 2) You have probably worked on your localhost first, or on another domain, and just moved and left everything as it is, right? That’s why the image resizing script can’t read the details of the images, such as their width and height, causing them to not display. Please update your portfolio images, and everything should work just fine. :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Thank’s a lot.

Everythings is ok right now! Great!!

Congratulation for this template.

onioneye

Hey,

you are very much welcome! Glad you got it all working! :)

Have lots of fun with the theme!

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi!

IN your download, I don’t have this folder “cache” /wp-content/themes/yin_and_yang/cache/

IS it normal?

Thank’s

onioneye

Hey,

of course it is. The image resizing script automatically creates one, when the theme is activated and visited for the first time.

By the way, please read my answer on your previous comment. Oh, and just one more thing: can you please respond to your own threads? It makes it easier for me, and for other people, to keep track of the comments. You can do that by hitting the reply button, found at the end of the first comment in the thread.

Thank you! :)

Hi OnionEye,

I bought it and can tell you and others the WPML plugin works well. A few minor details that I need to adjust and localize per language, as for instance the portfolio ALL counts now the total items from all languages :)

Concerning the opening of a project on default homepage:

What would be the string then to always call the first project in the portfolio? Because in your example http://onioneyethemes.com/yin-and-yang/portfolio/quality-estate/ you always call that specific item and would need to adjust it after uploading a new project.

Then it leaves the question where & how can I actually set this up in the admin?

Thanks

S

onioneye

Hey there,

glad that the WPML plugin is working out great for you! :)

If you are just occasionally going to add a new portfolio item, then updating the link and using something like URL rewrite, to “pretiffy” the URL of the first item should not be a big problem. However, the permanent solution for both occasional and frequent addition of items would be to make a new template that would almost be identical as the one for the portfolio items (single-portfolio.php). You would just insert the template name in there and adjust the code a bit to show the first item from the portfolio. Once that is done, you would just make a new page, assign the mentioned template to it, and set it up as your homepage. Quite honestly, a developer could do this pretty quickly and on the cheap as well.

I can see the shorcodes? I am trying to contact section and do not know how. Thanks

onioneye

Hey there,

You have the detailed instructions in the documentation on how to use the theme’s shortcodes.

Here’s the content of the demo’s contact page, that goes in the HTML view of the content editor, in case you want to have the same formatted page as the one in the demo. You just need to change a few things, such as the email address and some other data.

http://snippi.com/s/t459bls

Once you create the page with the mentioned content, you need to select it in the Theme Options panel, under the “Top Drop-Down Page” option, and voila, the tab containing the page will show up on your site! :)

Hello,

I absolutely LOVE this theme but before I purchase it I have a few questions regarding customization:

1. For my needs, the header on the main page (with the logo and description) is too large for my liking. Is there a way for me to decrease the size of that section?

2. In your EQUILIBRIUM WP THEME there is a photo slider at the top. I would like to feature some of my posts in this way, is that possible with this theme? (I would use the Equilibrium theme if it had the jquery functions this theme has)

3. The thumbnails on the main page – is the size customizable? I was wondering if I could get them a bit smaller.

4. When you click on a thumbnail, that thumbnail’s section appears. On the right side there is a sidebar listing the date, category, etc. Is it possible not to include the side bar at all and have the image centered on the screen? Also, in the case of having a video and not an image, can you upload more than one video in the same way you can with images?

Thanks ahead! I look forward to installing these theme :)

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks for taking an interest in it! :)

Here are the answers to your questions:

1) Of course. This section expands and detracts based on the size of your logo and the introduction text. You can also modify its margins to make it significantly smaller. Piece of cake even for a beginner CSS coder.

2) It is certainly possible; however, this is not something which is included out of the box, so some degree of development work would be required of you to make it. If I were you, I would look into WP plugins for sliders, that can be easily integrated into the theme.

3) Sure thing. If you know how to work with a bit of PHP , it shouldn’t be a problem for you to customize it.

4) Again, all of this can be achieved, but some degree of development work is required of you. As far as the videos are concerned, currently the theme supports one video per one portfolio item.

I hope this helps! Have lots of fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it! :)

First of all, great minimalist theme! I really love it!

I have three questions for you:

1) On your demo page, I see “CLIENTS” section at the bottom of home page (portfolio page). Is there an option to not show “CLIENTS” section? Or is this something that can be removed only if I play with codes?

2) On your demo page, there’s the “” sign. When I click on it, a hidden page(?) shows up with four columns of widgets. Is there an option to have that hidden page off…so that I won’t even see the “” sign on home page?

3) Is it possible to turn off the hidden contact page at top and just add a normal full width contact page?

Thank you so much for reading my questions!

-Jessica

onioneye

Hey Jessica,

This is your lucky day! :)

You will be glad to hear that none of these three sections are mandatory. The “Clients” section and the top drop-down page are not displayed, unless you want them to be. On top of that, you only need to turn off the widgetized area in the Theme Options by selecting one of the checkboxes there, and everything will be just as you desire! Piece of cake, I tell you! :)

Awsome!!!!! :) Thank you so much!

onioneye

You are very much welcome! ;)

Hi there, would i be able to use it as a product display page? For instance, all of the products will be displayed on the front page, and can be also arranged by category.

In this case, would I be able to control the number of items displayed when its under ‘ALL’ ?

Cheers

Jackie

onioneye

Hey there,

thanks for taking an interest in the theme! :)

Everything already behaves the way you want it to, but I’m not sure what you are getting at with the “All” filter button. Can you tell me how exactly would you like it to behave?

Looking forward to your answer. :)

Great theme. I bought it and it’s really easy to follow the documentation. One question: Can I change the portfolio icon and the word “portfolio” to something else?

onioneye

Hey,

glad you like the theme, including the documentation! Thanks for purchasing! :)

You can change the mentioned word in the template-home.php file, and the icon in the second line of the code, found under the “Home Template” section of the style.css file.

I hope this helps! :)

Hi,

I purchased your awesome theme. Do you by any chance have an HTML version?

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you find the theme awesome! Thanks for buying it! :)

Unfortunately, I don’t have the HTML version of the theme, neither do I plan to release it in the future. I’m only focusing myself on WordPress themes. :)

Is it possible to disable the slider animations, button animations for the portfolio section, and the logo animations? If this is possible I may have to scoop this up.

onioneye

Hey there,

the button and the logo animations are done in CSS3 , so these could be easily removed by modifying 1-2 lines of code in the main stylesheet. I think you can also do it for the slider, by modifying its options, but make sure you check its documentation first, just in case: http://slidesjs.com/

Have lots of fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it! :)

OnionEye

Amazing web designing, coding, and drawings (I draw too). This theme is excellent for my website, it’s very flexible and user friendly for both sides of the world (staff + visitors).

1. How can we keep the logos look the same design (color + size) listed under the clients section? For example, I take the Nike logo and make it turn grey, do we have to do that ourselves?

2. Instead of using clients logos under the clients section, can we use text/keywords/cloud with or without text hyperlinks?

-s350

onioneye

Hi,

thanks a lot for the wonderful compliments! I appreciate them very much! :)

Here are the answers to your questions:

1) I mainly took the logos in the png format, and simple changed the color of their layers in photoshop, and maybe their opacity as well. I also resized them to make them the same size.

2) Excuse me, but I’m really not sure what you meant by that. Can you elaborate it a bit more?

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Default-user

Sure.

Cloud tags, that’s what I mean. Also, I have an excellent idea of a logo design I’d like to have on my website. Can you design it for me? Obviously business will come first.

-s350

onioneye

Thanks for explaining it further. :)

You can upload any image you want in the clients section, via the Theme Options panel, but if you want to have anything else in there, you are going to have to write a few lines of your custom code in the homepage template.

As far as the logo is concerned, unfortunately, I’m currently buried with work, so I don’t have the time to make one for you now. I suggest hiring another designer for this task.

Have lots of fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye
