How many rows of work can be displayed in the portfolio section?

onioneye

Hey there,

you can display as many rows of portfolio projects as you want. :)

Just bought the Theme yesterday and I really love it, it’s so intuitive and very visually graphic – a real home run!

Had just one quick question, I am trying to find the contact form response code. I’d like to 1. Customize it. 2. There is actually a little typo on it – “You/’ll get an answer as soon as possible.” The backslash found it’s way into You’ll! Anyway, I would love for you to point me in the direction of the file that commands this response.

Thanks again, for a wonderful theme and your first rate support!

Best Regards, Grace B.

Hi,

Thanks for buying the theme! glad you love it, including my support! :)

As far as the contact form is concerned, its files are found in the /yin_and_yang/function-includes/theme-shortcodes/contact-form-shortcode/ directory. Feel free to customize them as you wish, but keep in mind that many of the shortcode’s useful options can be modified directly on the shortcode, instead of changing the source code. You can read more about it in the docs, under the “Shortcodes” section.

I hope this helps! :)

Have a great day,

I am interested in your page. If you enter the page http://www.variartevalencia.com, paragraph products, see all I have to do. The customer wants to add prices, but that only become visible to registered customers. Also, if you are not registered, you will only have access to view only a few pictures. Is it possible? thanks

onioneye

Hey there,

thanks for taking an interest in the theme! :)

The things you mention are certainly possible. You can modify the theme into anything you want, really. It all comes down to your development/design skills.

Have lots of fun working with Yin & Yang, if you end up buying it! :)

Thank you very much for your reply. I have another question: The customer wants access to most of their products is with a password. Is it possible? That is, a first page with a few visible products worldwide and a private access password to view the rest of the catalog with prices included. I have taught my client their website and liked a lot. If we can solve this, no doubt, will be the Elected thanks

onioneye

This is certainly possible; however, it is not something which is included out of the box, so some degree of development is required of you to make it. It is most definitely a task for a developer.

Sent you an email regarding an Equilibrium-like homepage with a slider. Also support for Typekit… or is that something I’d have to do by myself?

Ok answered, thanks.

Please can you tell me where I can edit the form settings like field size and font colour on the slide down menu? And where I can edit the title ‘Project URL ’ on the individual portfolio pages?

Thank you very much in advance – I’ve been looking everywhere!

Loving the theme!

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you are loving the theme! Thanks for the purchase! :)

You can edit both the form field size and the font color of the drop-down menu in the style.css file. The styles for the first one are found under the “Forms” section, while the second can be modified under the “Site Navigation” section.

As far as the title is concerned, you can edit it in the single-portfolio file and the theme-functions file.

I hope this helps! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hey – just bought and installed this theme and can’t because the stylesheet is missing. Any help? Thanks.

Edit: I fixed it thanks. Jennifer

onioneye

Hey Jennier,

thanks for buying the theme! I truly appreciate it! :)

For your information, whenever you buy and download the zipped folder, that contains the theme files, don’t upload it to your WordPress theme directory immediately. Instead, first unzip the mentioned folder, and then upload the theme folder, found within the main folder. Reading the documentation, prior to installing, won’t hurt either. :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

After creating a custom menu, and setting the main menu to this new custom menu, I can not get the menu to show up as the top nav on the home page. I have read the documentation attached, as well as the wordpress link in the documentation and everything is done correctly…help?

onioneye

Hey there,

let me get one thing clear: you save the menu and then you select it under the “Theme Locations” box, but its reference gets erased, when you navigate to another page in your WordPress admin panel? If that’s the issue, then you should know that this is something unrelated to the theme, and that other people in the WordPress community are also experiencing the same thing: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/theme-locations-menus-not-being-saved

Somebody that had the same problem as yours, found the solution. I hope it works for you: http://getsatisfaction.com/livelylabs/topics/custom_menus_not_saving

By the way, can you send me your login credentials and a link to your site, by using the contact form on my profile page, so I can check things out by myself, if that’s not a problem?

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hello,

Great theme! I am new to wordpress and having issues figuring out how to navigate users to the portfolio. I uploaded portfolio pieces and made a “page” for it under wordpress, but am wondering how you navigate the portfolio content to correlate with a menu button. Ideally I would like the portfolio page to be the home page.

I am also wondering where you input the text “Award winning digital agency. We bring a personal and effective approach to every project we work on, which is why our clients love us and why they keep coming back.” that you used.

Thank you!!

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you like the theme! Thanks for buying it! :)

I understand that you have found the answers to your questions, but I just want to urge everyone to read the documentation, where these, and many other important questions about the theme are answered. Installing and completely setting up the theme is going to be so much easier, if you follow the directions in the docs, instead of trying to figure things out by yourself. That especially goes for the people who are new to WordPress.

Enjoy the rest of your day,

OnionEye

Is there any way the contact from from Equilibrium can be added to this template? Please let me know. Thanks.

onioneye

Hi,

the contact forms are basically the same in both themes. They are just presented differently. Maybe you want the form to open in the modal (popup) window, just like in the Equilibrium theme?

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Default-user

Yes, exactly! How can I get the contact form to pop up on this template, like the Equilibrium theme? Just trying to figure out which one I would want to get, I like both, but like Yin & Yang more if I can accomplish this. Thanks.

onioneye

Since this is not something which is available out of the box, some degree of development would be required of you to make it. This is most definitely a task for a developer.

By the way, my personal favorite is Yin & Yang, but it all comes down to which one you like more. :)

Have lots of fun working with Equilibrium or Yin & Yang, if you end buying any of those two! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

I figured out the comment above so please disregard it. THank you!!

onioneye

Couldn’t completely disregard it, so I wrote something that could help other people too. :)

Ok. Sorry – I have most of this theme figured out except for the contact drop down. getting it to look like yours has proved challenging. the shortcodes don’t look like yours, – I’d appreciate a tip!

Thanks.

onioneye

Hey,

there’s no need to apologize, if you need help. :)

Here’s the content of the demo’s contact page, that goes in the HTML view of the content editor, if you want to have the same formatted page as the one in the demo. You just need to change a few things, such as the email address and some other data.

Darn it! I meant to reply to your last message to my comment and accidentally wrote it as “report” instead of “reply”. Gaaahhh. Anyway, I just was gonna tell you that I’m already following you on Twitter as well.

Looking forward to the update this week!

Thank you, Jessica

onioneye

No worries, Jessica. Everything is in perfect order. :)

Stay tuned for the update,

Hi there… We’ve just purchased this theme, so far it really looks great :)

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you like the theme! Thanks a lot for buying it! :)

Have lots of fun working with Yin & Yang! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

This may be me not finding it, but in the Appearance>Widgets section, there is no Twitter widget. How do I insert this, like your demo site?

PS—fantastic theme.

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you find the theme fantastic! Thanks for purchasing it! :)

The custom widgets that come packed with the theme are installed separately. Please refer to the docs and follow the directions there, to do this quickly and easily.

Sorry, I meant – where do I change the colour of the font within the contact form? I’ve tried changing all the colours within the style.css file (‘Form’)?

Thank you very much

onioneye

You can change the color with the following CSS code:

input, button, textarea { color: *your desired color*; }

Is there a way to add Google Analytics to the site?

Thanks

onioneye

Sure thing! You have a bunch of plugins in the WordPress plugin repository for that. You should be able to easily find one through your admin panel. :)

+1 for the Equilibrium-like homepage for YinYang

Is there a way to implement this easily? (basically the 1liner, the banner with images and the latest blogpost slider)

I have thorough knowledge of wordpress and html, but it is nice to see if some code can be re-used and if it is allowed. (I bought Equilibrium too btw)

onioneye

Hey there,

you should actually be looking in the enqueues.php file to see which files/scripts/stylesheets are called in which pages, and then include them in your own site. I’m pretty sure you should be looking for the slider scripts.

Sincerely,

matuvunu Purchased

well i thoroughly looked, but the only thing i cannot find is the script that enables the ‘latest post’ rotation. i don’t see a reference to ‘latest blogposts’

i guess i’m somewhat confused: the script in enqueues says:

if ( ! intval( of_get_option( ‘slider_disabled’, ‘0’ ) ) || intval ( of_get_option( ‘latest_articles_enabled’ , ‘0’ ) ) ) { }

function eq_add_homepage_slider_js() {
if( is_page_template( 'template-home.php' ) ) {
    wp_enqueue_script( 'slides', get_template_directory_uri() . '/js/slides.min.jquery.js', array ( 'jquery' ) );
    wp_enqueue_script( 'slides-options', get_template_directory_uri() . '/js/jquery.homepage.slider.options.php', array( 'jquery', 'slides' ), of_get_the_file_version( 'js/jquery.homepage.slider.options.php' ) );
}
}

it mentions latest articles enabled, but the 2 scripts loading are for the homepage slider and not for the latest posts.

i added them both, but it doesn’t change a thing for my latest blogpost slider…

i’ve added justom.js too with the latest articles slider http://system.matuvu.nu/our/wp-content/themes/yin_and_yang/js/jquery.custom.js?ver=3.3

still it is not showing anything…

onioneye

Hey there,

you have some errors in your jQuery code. Please inspect them via tools like firebig, or chrome’s web inspector, to identify and fix them.

Tip: make sure you are using the latest version of jQuery scripts from the Equilibrium theme.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Are there any plans for a full width blog option?

onioneye

You already have this option in the Theme Options panel. ;)

I was about to buy Equilibrium when I just came across Ying & Yang.. few questions:

1) Are there any slider options for the homepage on Ying & Yang?

2) I LOVE LOVE LOVE the blog layout/style of Ying & Yang.. can I import that style into Equilibrium or would you be willing to offer the code for it after I purchase Equilibrium? (however that works)

3) The portfolio option to CONTINUE viewing the whole portfolio, while honing in on the project selected is AMAZING .. any way at all to put that as an option in Equilibrium?

If these two themes combined just a tad, we’d have the perfect theme on our hands.. please offer whatever options we have as buyers.. I’m eager to get my site rolling..

thanks so much OnionEye!

Default-user

Thanks a ton Onioneye.. this is awesome news! I should be getting started right away..

My post on your Equilibrium page had a separate set of questions, however.. sorry for the confusion.. whenever you’re able, I’d love the answers to those as well.. Again, thanks so much, and awesome themes!

onioneye

Glad you see you are excited about working with the theme! :)

As far as the question posted on the Equilibrium theme is concerned, I thought you were not interested in the answers anymore because you like Yin & Yang more.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

onioneye

Just answered the questions posted on Equilibrium’s forum. :)

Thanks for your response! Can you post a link to the full width blog index and full width single blog post pages?

onioneye

Hey,

You are very much welcome! :)

Unfortunately, there isn’t a link to the full width blog pages. However, I do have a screenshot of the options, that control the layout of the blog.

http://www.diigo.com/item/image/1mr8l/d1ok?size=o

The full width blog pages are basically the same as the ones with sidebars. It’s just that the content of the post is a bit wider, including the margins.

Sincerely,

OnionEye
