Hi Igor,

glad you find the theme nice! Thanks for buying it. :)

As far as the portfolio page goes, please read the documentation, that’s found in the main folder. It contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme, including the portfolio.

Dear OnionEye,

To paginate my portfolio page items which parts of the code should be edited? (please give me just some directions to the php files) Should I install any plugin for for the pagination, like WP Paginate plugin? Thank you!

Hi Vlad,

you asked the same questions in your previous thread just yesterday, so I provided an answer for you there. Please check it out. :)

By the way, I would appreciate it if you could refrain from posting the same questions in multiple threads, as that will certainly not speed things up. Thank your for understanding.

Hi OnionEye,

Thank you for letting me know how to reorder the portfolio items! Worked so well for me! I apologize for making you feel upset but I thought I’m asking a different question in the current thread: direction to the exact segment of your code and plugins needed to solve the pagination problem on the theme I bought. If your answer still is “find a developer” – well I’ll definitely do that. Thank you for your support anyway!

Hi Vlad,

you are very much welcome. I am glad the solution worked well for you.

If you check your previous thread, you will see that you asked the same questions there, but no worries about that. Everything is fine. :)

Thank you for apologizing and for being so full of understanding.

Hi,

thanks for great theme, I’m sure you have already answered this but i wasn’t able to find it in the previous comments or documentation:

is there a way to remove the widgets section along the bottom of the theme so there is no toggle and nothing in the footer? thanks so much!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you find the theme great! Thanks for buying it. :)

As far as your question goes, you can easily disable the widgets section, under the Appearance -> Theme Options tab of your WordPress admin panel.

Hi,

is it possible to add Xing to the social networks?

Thanks.

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

As far as your questions goes, it is definitely possible to add Xing to the collection of social networks, but some custom development work is required of you. After making your icon, and uploading it to your server, you should modify the following files:

  • theme-functions.php (the “eq_get_the_social_networks” function)
  • style.css (the “Footer” section)
  • options.php

Sincerely,

Hi,

is it possible that you generate a logo for Xing? Because it has to fit to the other icons…

Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

you have the PSD file for the icons, in the “psd” folder, that’s in turn found in the main folder, which you downloaded, when you bought the theme, so you can generate the icon yourself. If you don’t know how to work with photoshop, you can always hire someone to complete the job quickly for you.

Good luck! :)

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you find the theme great! Thanks for the purchase. :)

When it comes to the submit button, you can change its look under the “Forms” section of the main stylesheet (style.css), and its HTML in the contact-form-shortcode.php file.

Hi OnionEye,

I love the theme – it’s beautiful! Just wondered if there are any shortcodes for inserting columns, line breaks, etc.? I can’t seem to locate them anywhere…

Thanks in advance.

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks for the purchase. :)

As far as the shortcodes go, please refer to the documentation, to find out how to use them.

By the way, you can use the br HTML tag for the line breaks: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_br.asp

Welcome. I purchased your template some time ago. I have a question. I wish that the portfolio showed a picture in three rows, and others were displayed on a pagination.

Can you tell me in some way to help, or possibly prompt me to do it.

Thanks!

Hi bandolero I have found how to make changes with portfolio items as U want to make! Its not difficult. Write to me via email if U want. pietkiewiczigor@gmail.com

Hi there,

Love the theme. I am in the process of editing it and adding my portfolio but I noticed when I navigate the website as a simple user not loged in to Wordpress I press an item in the preview image and it seems to not open the image to show the item info and other images included. It shows that it loads but than it simply does not open.

When I log in to WP it works perfectly though.

The website is www.constantinpotorac.com

Hi there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks for the purchase. :)

As far as your issue goes, I see that you managed to solve it, by reading your latest post. Congrats!

Oh, and by the way, nice portfolio! :)

Hey about the comment above… I fixed it. It seems for some reason the link changed inside Wordpress Settings to 4 wwww. instead of 3 www.

It is a weird bug as I know I did not changed that. Anyway just putting this out here in case someone else has this issue.

onioneye

Hey,

once again, glad you got this working. Thanks for sharing your solution with the rest of the people out here. :)

Hello,

Thank you for all of your help. I was able to get it working where i have multiple versions of your theme on my site (two to be exact) so that I can have more than one portfolio. There are some drawbacks, so i still may go with a developer on a single theme. Be assured if i do use more than one theme instance when i go live, i will purchase a second license. I have a few more questions though:

1) For the portfolio view, there is a place to enter the ‘item URL .’ How does this work? This leads to my next question

2) Where it says date right now for a particular portfolio item, i’d like to replace it with a Facebook Like button, Pinterest pin it button, and a Google +1 button. What files and where do i need to edit to do this? If someone hits ‘like’, will they have the right link (per question 1)?

3) Is there a way to change the order of portfolio items? If not, is there some hack or quick thing to do on the backend (either on the filesystem or via the wp-admin panel)?

Thanks, Jas

onioneye

Hi Jas,

you are very much welcome! Glad I could be of some help. :)

To answer your latest questions:

1) If your project is can be found on another URL , then you can just copy and paste this URL to the “Item URL ” field, and it will appear in the item’s sidebar.

2) A user by the name of “lllaria” managed to import the social sharing buttons in the site, so be sure to check out her post on the 15th page of the theme’s forum.

3) You can reorder the portfolio items by changing their publishing dates, in the Publish settings box, when you are editing existent, or making new items.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi onioneye,

As always, thank you for the wonderful response! Your support is first class! I do have some follow ups, and i thought i originally posted 4 or 5 questions, but i see above it only has 3. Maybe i accidentally deleted them before hitting submit. So i will ask again. First the followups:

2) Her instructions said edit single-portfolio and theme_functions php files. Can you tell me which is more specific to the bar on the right and which is specific to below the portfolio item? I’m trying to eliminate the date category on the right (and of course replace with social)

New Questions: 4) Where can i change the icon and name of where it says ‘Portfolio’

5) do you happen to have a soundcloud social networking icon that matches all of yours below?

6) is there a way to search these comments? i feel like you must answer questions several times. but is there a way for me to do a keyword search across all comments?

Thank You, Jas

onioneye

Hi Jas,

you are very much welcome. Thank you for the compliment about my support. :)

To answer your latest questions:

2) The code that you find in the single-portfolio.php is the same as the code in the first function of the theme-functions.php file, so you basically need to edit the same code in both files. However, I can’t tell you what exactly to edit, since I can only give you the name of the files, for more complex modifications, that span beyond one or two lines of code.

4) The text can be changed in the template-home.php, and the icon in the style.css file.

5) Unfortunately, no.

6) Once again, the answer is an unfortunate no. This forum has no search functionality, and us authors and buyers are still patiently waiting for ThemeForest to implement it.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hello,

I installed your theme last night. I seem to be having problems with one of the actions. When I click on the portfolio thumbnail it doesn’t open up to the full page about the portfolio item.

How do I fix this. www.digitaljellyfish.tv

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

As far as the portfolio items go, it seems that you have some kind of an URL redirection setup on your server, which causes the AJAX requests to fail, and return the 302 (Moved Temporarily) HTTP errors.

You next step would be to contact your host, and tell them about this. They should know more.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Good afternoon. We bought you a theme Yin & Yang: Clear and Slick WP Portfolio Teme. Activated the theme, and then saw that the theme does not support the Russian localization. As of control in all the inscriptions unreadable characters and gives the error:

Warning: [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in on line 42

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at in / var / www / karandashdes / testsite.karandashdesign.com / wp-includes / option.php on line 563

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at in / var / www / karandashdes / testsite.karandashdesign.com / wp-includes / option.php on line 564

Tell me what to do.

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

As far as localization goes, the theme does indeed support it. Here are the instructions for it:

Please check out the “Language Files” section of the following article, to get an answer to your question: Internalization and localization of a WordPress theme. Also, make sure you read the “Translation” section of the docs, and follow these directions, after you are done with making .mo and .po files:

Please create a folder named “lang” inside the theme folder, and upload the .mo and .po files there. After that is done, just replace the following code in functions.php file:

load_theme_textdomain ( ‘onioneye’ );

with

load_theme_textdomain(‘onioneye’, get_template_directory() . ’/lang’);

and you should be fine.

I hope this helps! :)

However, if you are talking about the fonts, that might not support all Russian characters, then I suggest changing the theme’s fonts to some other fonts.

When it comes to the error, it is actually not an error; it is rather a warning, and has nothing to do with the theme. It is either directly caused by your WordPress, or one of the WordPress plugins you have installed, so I suggest you try deactivating all of your plugins temporarily, to see if anyone of them is the cause of this.

Hello,

One more question onioneye :-)

I have a custom logo image. It seems to be left-justified at the moment. is there a way to make it center justified? if not, is there a width i should make it so it appears centered?

thanks, jas

onioneye

Hi Jas,

depending on how exactly you would want this to look, you would have to modify the style.css file, and possibly the header.php file as well.

Good luck with this, and all the rest of your modifications! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Sorry, last question of the day!

Is it possible to add a comments section for each portfolio item? Much like there is in blog?

Thanks, jas

onioneye

Hi Jas,

this is possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you. This is most definitely a task for a developer, given the complexity of the task in hand.

Hi,

Just bought the theme. I like alot.

I was wondering how to change the portfolio thumbnail text. When mouse over, the project title appears. How do I change the font size and color. I want to remove the frame around it too.

Help?

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

To change the text that appears on thumbnail hover, you would have to modify the template-home.php file. As far as the style changes go, you would have to edit the “Home Template” section of the style.css file. By the way, this is most definitely a task for a developer.

How do I change the text to white for example? Thanks. If possible how do I remove the frame around it.

onioneye

Hi there,

the following CSS code will work for you:

.project-link .project-caption { background: none; border: none; color: #fefefe; }

You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

Hi OnionEye,

Hello again Onioneye! I’m trying to change three things in the theme without success and i need some help. The first is to change the location of the navigation menu and put it under the logo. The second is to reduce the blank spaces that are above and below the logo. The third is put on every page of the site (portfolio, biography and contact) an image that is equal to the portfolio, a little gem and the name of the page. www.franlorenzon.com

I really appreciate your help and Im waiting your contact.

Best regards

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

Regarding your modifications:

1) You would have to modify the header.php file, including the style.css file as well, to make this happen.

2) The following code should reduce some padding (40 pixels in total):

#logo, #intro-section { padding: 0; }

You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

3) You would have to modify the page.php and the template-home.php files, to achieve this.

By the way, the first and the third tasks are most definitely tasks for a developer.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Is this theme optimized for mobile devices?

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for taking an interest in the theme!

As far as your question goes, the theme does not have a responsive layout, but should still be very much usable on mobile devices, like the iPad.

Have lots of fun working with Yin & Yang, if you end up buying it! :)
