Looking forward to hearing from you,
I’m developing a website and I would like to make Yin Yang theme as a base theme. Does this theme support a child theme? Is full customization allowed (new theme color and some layout changes)?
glad you find the theme great! Thanks for taking an interest in it.
As far as your questions go, the use of child themes is supported, and full customization is allowed.
Have fun working with the Yin & Yang theme, if you end up buying it!
We already bought the theme.. thanks!
Great! Thanks a lot for the purchase. Appreciate it.
hi i love this theme, just a quick question does this theme have font options?
glad you love the theme! Thanks for taking an interest in it.
As far as your question goes, the theme doesn’t have any font options built into it, but that’s what WordPress plugins are therefore; to help you easily change the fonts. Having said that, you can utilize the WP Google Fonts plugin for example, which lets you embed hundreds of different fonts from the google webfonts repository. It does almost everything for you, but some further, very minor adjustments to the CSS of the theme might be needed to get everything like you want it to be.
Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
I would really like to purchase the theme, but I got one question:
As a motion designer, I often have a video together with some “behind-the-scenes” pictures for every portfolio page.
In the examples I see either only one video (without any navigation) or only pictures (with the nice point and arrow navigation on top of the picture)
Is it possible to navigate between a video and pictures in an individual portfolio page?
thanks for taking an interest in the theme!
You can have both videos and images in a single portfolio item by embedding your videos straight in the content editor (large text area), while including your images via the options included in the theme. However, the videos are going to appear below the image slider, and not in the slider itself.
Enjoy working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
Merry Christmas mate!
Have one question:
Oh, and Merry Christmas to you too!
If i buy this theme I have the install package?? I mean, the installation the get a page like in the demo.
Sorry for my english…
As far as your question goes, you will have the manual available, once you buy the theme. It contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme itself, but if you still get stuck somewhere, you can always contact me via the forum (http://onioneye.ticksy.com/), and I will do my utmost to help you in the best way I can.
Have fun working with the theme, if you end up purchasing it!
Great theme, very happy that I purchased it
Just one question, is it possible (and if so where?) to edit the actual title of, “portfolio” within the php coding? Instead of it saying, “Portfolio” on my home page, I was hoping to change the text to something else.
Also, when I use the “add new” section under portfolio, if I add a video it automatically overrides the photo and a large picture will not appear. Instead it’ll be just the thumbnail and the video.
Thanks for your time! Again, awesome job!
Hi Onion Eye
First of all, thanks for designing this theme. It’s fantastic. I bought this for my portfolio website.
I have 2 Questions:
1. On the home page, below each portfolio item, I want to add a title and subtitle to it. Is there an easy way to do that?
2. On the project details page, before the first image, I want to include some text about the project, the problem statement etc. How can I do that?
Thanks a lot!
This looks like it might be what i’m after. Does the theme support multiple portfolio pages (eg three pages – home page, video page, and a design page – each with the corresponding portfolio items)?
As far as your question goes, having multiple portfolios is possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, and that is most definitely a task for a developer.
By the way, if you are not a developer yourself, but absolutely need to have the mentioned feature available in your client’s copy of the theme, then my best suggestion for you is to turn to the forums, or Envato’s freelance marketplace, http://freelanceswitch.com/ to find a reputable freelancer for the job, if you are still willing to buy the theme, of course.
I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do!
I am interested in buying your theme but I have a question:
Can I have flash (.swf) files in my portfolio? I have a few flash games that I want to showcase.
I did go to http://onioneye.ticksy.com but since it is only for purchasers of the theme, I could not submit my question there. It would be great if you could answer this.
As far as your question goes, you can definitely embed flash files in the portfolio items via the object tag. For more information, please visit the following link: http://perishablepress.com/embed-flash-and-video-via-the-object-tag/
Is it safe to update to WordPress 3.4 or higher
By the way, thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it.
All the best,
my galley photo in the portfolio does’nt work ..
What do i need to do ?
Just added Pinterest icon and link to my client’s Yin & Yang theme based website http://www.lauraorchant.co.uk
thanks for the share! Good luck to you and your client’s website.
Hi, I am loving the theme, but I have two things I need some help on. I saw on the live preview site that you could have descriptions of that portfolio piece.. I must be missing something as when I write the description in the description box when I upload an image, nothing shows up on the site… suggestions? Also I must be missing something when I view my site on my android, my portfolio shows up for a split second and then disappears. any ideas to why this is, I viewed the preview site on my phone and it worked just fine.. HELP! this kinda needs to be viewable!
Hi there onioneye,
I had downloaded your theme a considerable time ago for a university project, and although a lot of bug fixes have been released mine still persists regardless of whether I have the updated or older version.
Basically when myself or a user tries to load the portfolio section, after clicking on an individual project, the text loads but the images however do not, unless the user selects one of the small circular thumbnails. I know you have said to a lot of users about logging out of wordpress as admin etc however I have tried this with no success.
Could you tell me how to resolve the issue, whether this has something to do with the code or my image sizes etc??
Any help would be much appreciated.
Where is the snippet of code I can delete and remove the portfolio dates (month and year)? It does seem to be on the “theme-functions.php” file as mentioned. Any help is appreciated!
First of all I would like to congratulate of creating this awesome WP theme. Not only y&y, but also Equilibrium and the others.
I slowly editing some stuff inside the theme to make it more suitable for my needs. Right now I try to implement the customized Google Map inside Contact form – You know, the colored one with things like that.
My bad I havn’t noticed this one earlier.
Thanks for the info. I’ll check your support forum asap.
You are very much welcome! Thanks for the compliment about the theme, and your purchase.
Looking forward to seeing your on the forum,
for the first like to say fantastic theme, awesome work!!!

Y&Y looks like an awesome theme and I’m considering it for a project. Apologies if you’ve covered this question before, but I’m wondering if there is a plan to make Y&Y responsive. I don’t see responsiveness in the feature list and the live preview doesn’t appear to be responsive.
Thanks in advance, and thanks for a great-looking theme!
glad you find the theme awesome! Thanks for taking an interest in it.
As far as your question goes, the theme itself does not have a responsive layout, but should still be very much usable on mobile devices, like the iPad. As far as the plans for making the theme responsive go, I’ve been thinking about it for quite some time now, but to be completely honest, I still haven’t come up with a definite decision, so I unfortunately can’t promise anything at the moment. I guess I will have to decide, once I finish working on my latest project.
My honest advice for you is to actually question why you are keen on a responsive website in the first place; just because it is trendy, or because your site already gets, or is expecting to get a lot of traffic from mobile devices?
Responsive is cool and dandy alright, but it’s far from a perfect solution for delivering content on mobile devices, and on top of that, I met a lot of people who want it, just because it’s cool, without actually needing it.
Having said all that, I wish you the best whatever you decide to do, and a lot of fun with the theme, if you end up buying it!
Thanks so much for the reply. I did a little digging around and found support for your notion that the responsive feature isn’t always necessary. One post says that it’s good for highly-interactive sites (like ones where folks upload pix from their mobile phones) but that it’s unnecessary for most sites. I’ll show Y&Y to my client again we’ll see where he wants to go.
you are very much welcome! I am really glad to hear you did your research, and that Yin & Yang is seriously being considered for your client’s project.
Once again, I wish you the best of luck, whatever your client and you decide to do!
