so sorry, commented on the wrong theme page
please ignore my previous message.
Hi there,
no worries. Everything is A-OK. I wish you the best of luck with the theme you purchased.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Dear Yin & Yang, I bought your theme and its great! But there a problem, wen install it. my page starts up like a ugly blog page. You can see it here > www.luisconforto.com I wold like to install it just like the live preview and start customizing the theme from there. Thanks
Hi there,
glad you find the theme great! Thanks for the purchase.
Please read the documentation, that’s found in the main folder. It contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme, just like in the demo.
By the way, here’s demo content, that includes things such as the demo pages, posts, comments, menus etc., if you want to import it into your WordPress: http://ge.tt/6LiIzHH/v/0?c
Sincerely,

Hi:
1. How do I remove the categories including ALL from appearing in the portfolio main page? I just don’t want to display them.
2. How can I customize the stuff on the right panel of project pages? Project URL has no use for me, but there are stuff I want to have instead. I tried modifying the theme-functions.php and single-portfolio.php files. Am I missing something or does it require some other file to be modified?
Thank you!
Hi there,
thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it.
To answer your questions:
1) You can remove the filter either by modifying the code in the template-home.php file, or by using the following CSS code:
The code can be included at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.
2) You can remove the things you don’t want in the item’s sidebar, by modifying the two mentioned files, and possibly the style.css file as well, to make everything look good. However, if you wanted to add something else in there, which is going to be variable from item to item, then more development work would be required of you.
The additional file you would have to modify is portfolio-metaboxes.php. By the way, this is most definitely a task for a developer.
Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Thanks, OnionEye. That was helpful.
You are very much welcome! Glad I could be of some help.
Hi Onion Eye:
I am looking for a workaround for the second problem I mentioned above.
I am trying to include just one additional set of values in the sidebar. Is it possible to have one set of categories displayed as ‘categories’ and another set of names as something like ‘skills? Thanks!
Hi there,
in that case, you would have to register a new taxonomy for “skills” in the custom-post-types.php file, and proceed to modifying the theme-functions.php and the single-portfolio.php files, to show the skills in every item. Once all that is done, you would finally have to modify the main stylesheet (style.css) as well, to make your newly-inserted HTML look good. As I already said it before, this is a task for a developer.
By the way, I would appreciate it if you could reply to your thread, by clicking the “Reply” button, found at the start of the thread, instead of opening a new one every time. Utilizing the reply button makes it easier for me, and for other people out here, to keep track of your comments. Thanks!
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hello.
I purchased and successfully installed Yin & Yang, and am very happy with how it looks, and how easy it is to customize (http://www.wordsinspace.net/urban-media-archaeology/2012-fall/). However, because I’ll be using this theme for a class I’m teaching, I was hoping to be able to display all the students’ blog posts on the homepage in the same gridded layout you use for the portfolio (http://themeforest.net/item/yin-yang-clear-and-slick-wp-portfolio-theme/full_screen_preview/634395). In short can I make my blog posts adopt the portfolio layout?
I’d appreciate your help.
Thanks! SM
Hi there,
glad you are satisfied with how the theme looks, and how easy it is to customize it. Appreciate the purchase very much.
As far as your question goes, I see that you sifted through this “forum,” and managed to find your answer. Thanks for that!
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Follow-up to previous post: Just saw your response to ensari here. here. So apparently it is possible to feature the blog posts in a grid pattern on the front page; I just need to find someone to help me do it. Thanks again for the lovely theme.
Hi there,
in addition to the answer I provided to ensari, you might want to check out the following, great site, based on the Yin & Yang theme: . The awesome crew behind sublvl. seems to have managed to do what you are after.
By the way, thanks for the compliment about the theme!

Hi Onion Eye,
Thanks for the help last time. Do have a couple of questions more. =)
1. In portfolio section, when you click on project and it takes you to the image and the info at the right ” Project title, Categories, Date ” etc. Is there a way to remove the border lines on that section? And also there is a slight hint of grey at the dates information and client info etc. How do I remove that to white. Want to do the same thing with the Categories titles too. Help?
Thanks!
Hi there,
you are very much welcome! Glad I could be of some help the last time around.
As far as your latest questions go, the following custom CSS code should work for you:
You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Thanks! that did it.
One more thing and I will let you go.
The border line at the top that is a part feature for the meny items. Is it possible to remove that too? So when mouse over, only the text should be highlighted.
Hi there,
you are very much welcome. Glad the code works for you.
As far as the animated border goes, the following CSS code should help in removing it:

Hi. Great theme! I purchased it and would like to know how to remove the Categories and Date from the sidebar of the portfolio items if possible. Thank you!

hello onioneye first thing congratulations for the work! very nice and flexible! I wanted to ask if it was possible to create different portfolios in different pages. for example: main menu: home, biography, work (here I put all the work into production with a second portfolio 2) 1 menu portfolio: design, graphics, illustrations … thanks good job
Hi there,
thanks for congratulating me on the theme, and for the purchase, of course! Glad you find the theme nice and flexible.
As far as your questions goes, having multiple portfolios is possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, and that is most definitely a task for a developer.

OnionEye
Hello,
I have two questions:
1. I can’t get the preview image in portfolio to show on my home page, the click icon is blanc.
2. I don’t know how to ad the CONTACT drop down menue. I have tried to find the info about this.
3. How do I install the demo you posted above?
Thanks for a great theme!
Hi there,
glad you find the theme great! Thanks for the purchase.
To answer your questions:
1) Please read the “File Permissions and Image Resizing” section of the docs, to battle this issue to the ground.
Also, please make sure the “File URL ” button is selected, when you are setting the images in the media uploader.
Screenshot of the “File URL ” button: http://www.diigo.com/item/image/1mr8l/sjb1?size=o
Note: you only have to click the File URL button once, and it will be active for all other images set in the future, but you are going to have to go back and reselect the images that have already been set.
2) Here’s the content of the demo’s contact page, that goes in the HTML view of the content editor, if you want to have the same formatted page as the one in the demo. You just need to change a few things, such as the email addresses, and some other data.
http://snippi.com/s/jb0f22cBy the way, once you are done with editing the page, be sure to select it in the “Top Drop-Down Page” option, found inside the Theme Options panel, and you should be good to go.
3) Navigate to Tools -> Import -> WordPress, in your WordPress admin panel, where you will, after installing the WordPress importer, be able to import the demo content.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hi again!
Thanks for your fast answer but I still can’t get the preview images to show.
I can’t remove the widget menue at the bottom either, the (+) in the left corner.
Do you have any idea what may be the problem?
Best!
Hi there,
you are very much welcome.
Can I please get a link to your portfolio page, so I can inspect things? Oh, and you can disable the footer widget area (+), in the Theme Options panel, which is found under the Appearance tab of your WordPress admin panel.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Thanks, I disabled the widgets at the bottom, don’t know how I missed that
Please check www.campodesignlab.com
Thanks!
Hi there,
you are very much welcome! Glad I could be of some help.
As far as the thumbnails go, you are trying to embed the images from an external source. For more information, please check out the following link: http://campodesignlab.com/wp-content/themes/yin_and_yang/timthumb.php?src=http://media2.campodesignlab.com/2012/08/1.jpg&h=190&w=220&q=90
If you want to enable the site in timthumb, then you need to edit the timthumb.php file on your server (you can do that under the Appearance -> Editor tab of your WordPress admin panel), to allow your external source to work.
Hint: look for the following code within the file: http://snippi.com/s/wiyq4jb and replace it with this: http://snippi.com/s/ahax2ne
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Thank you soooo much! It worked
One more thing! It’s probably an easy thing to do but I’m new to this. How do you change row spacing? If you look at My Brands on my site the web links are very far apart.
Thansk!
Hi there,
you are very much welcome! Glad it worked.
As far as spacing goes, please switch to the HTML view of the content editor (large text area), that appears when you are editing the page, and remove the
tags wrapped around the links. That should do the job.By the way, please consider rating the theme on your downloads page. It only takes a few seconds to do and would make me very happy.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
5 star rating, check!
I’m sorry but I can’t find the area you are referring to?
Best,
Hi there,
thanks a lot for the five star rating! Appreciate it very much.
As far as your issue goes, please navigate to the edit window of your “My Brands” page, under the Pages tab of your WordPress admin panel. Once you get there, you will see the big text area, and the “HTML” tab to the top-right corner of the area. Click it, and then remove the tags I mentioned.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
My pleasure
Yes I have been looking through the HTML code but I just can’t find the tags you are talking about.
Anither question is: How do I remove the widget text to the right ounder MY Brands? I have’nt found any option for this.
Thanks!
Hi there,
if the mentioned HTML tags are not there, then just make sure you delete the spacing between the links, by clicking on the empty line, and pressing backspace on your keyboard.
As far as the widget area goes, if you don’t want the sidebar, just select “Full Width”, under the “Template” option, when you are editing the “My Brands” page.
Once again, I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hi,
I’m thinking of buying the theme. What are the options of changing the background with my own seamless pattern?
Hi there,
thanks for taking an interest in the theme!
As far as your question goes, you have an option, that will let you easily upload your own background pattern, so you don’t need to worry about that.
Have lots of fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hello! I purchased your theme back in October of 2011, and was wondering where I can download the updates to the theme? I didn’t see it in my wordpress admin or on this site.
Thanks!
Hi there,
I apologize for the inconvenience this might cause you, but I only offer support via accounts, with which the theme has been bought, so you are going to have to login with that account, and send me an email via the contact form on my profile page, or post your questions here. Once you do that, I will be more than happy to help you out.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hello, Thanks for such a nice theme
I have a question about the header section.
How do i reduce the height of the whole section? After I uploaded my logo, there is a lot of white space between the logo and the “border-img.png” image.
Thanks!
Hi there,
glad you find the theme nice! Thanks for the purchase.
As far as your question goes, the following should work in reducing the space between the header and the main content area:
You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Another question…
2. How do i put the social media icons at the header section (beside the logo) instead of at the bottom?
Thanks!
Hi there,
you would have to modify the following files, to achieve that:
Basic PHP /HTML and CSS are a must for this task.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hi,
Excellent and beautiful theme. Been having fun working with it for a few days now. Wondering how to change the custom logo link. I’d like it to go to a URL , not the install home page.
I think it’s this line in theme_functions, but not sure exactly how it should be changed.
echo '<a href="' . get_home_url() . '" title="' . __( 'Return to the homepage', 'onioneye' ) . '">' .</a>(It can continue to say “Return to the homepage” that’s fine).
Thank you for your help.
Marg
Hi Marg,
glad you find the theme excellent and beautiful! Thanks for buying it.
As far as the logo link goes, replacing the following code with your URL should work:

Just bought this theme (LOVE IT), what code do it put in the css style sheet to position my logo image in the centre of the page?? thanks
Hi there,
glad you love the theme! Thanks a lot for the purchase.
When it comes to positioning your logo the desired way, I am unfortunately unable to provide custom code for modifications beyond one or two lines of code, and yours definitely requires more. In these cases, I can only provide the files that need to be modified, to achieve what you are after, but it is up to you to customize them. If you don’t know how to do so, you can always hire a developer to do it quickly for you, by finding someone on the forums, or Envato’s freelance marketplace, http://freelanceswitch.com/
Having said all that, the files you need to modify are header.php and style.css. I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Thanks for the advise, will try to get around it. Also just a quick question, would there be a way to reposition the thumbnails (preview images) of the gallery of portfolios after I upload every projects and images?
Hi there,
you are very much welcome.
As far as your latest question goes, you can reorder the portfolio items, by changing their publishing dates, in the Publish settings box, when you are editing existent, or making new items.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hallo, i purchased today and i just wanted to ask how i can get the portfolio view as my homepage?
thank you very much
Hi there,
thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it.
Please read the documentation, that’s found in the main folder. It contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme, including the homepage.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hello, I’ve just purchased and am so far loving working with your theme.
I’m trying to turn off the information to the right of portfolio section. So when in a portfolio page, the image is displayed cleanly with the description under and nothing to the right (title, date, tag, lines etc).
I’ve had a look through the comments but I can’t find reference on how to do this exactly, so apologies if you have already answered this question.
Thanks for your help!
Hi there,
glad you are loving the theme! Thanks for buying it.
Removing the mentioned section is certainly possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, and that is most definitely a task for a developer.
Hint: the files you would have to modify to achieve what you are after are theme-functions.php, single-portfolio.php, and style.css.

Hi!
Congratulations on your theme, it’s amazing!
I’m creating some kind of portfolio for an Model Management Agency based on your theme, and I would like to know about this problems.
1) Is there way to create more than one portfolio? They would like to have the models and the other kind of events they manage separatedly. If not, I guess the my best chance is to make different categories, and hide the “categories” breadcrumps, am I wrong?
2)In case the previous point is negative… It is possible, in the custom menú i’ve created, in the Gallery buttón (that is a drop-down), to make the sublinks to link to the portfolio WITH a category enabled? To work-around a solution to the 1st problem.
Hi there,
glad you find the theme amazing! Thanks for buying it.
To answer your questions:
1) Having multiple portfolios is possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, and that is most definitely a task for a skillful developer, given the complexity of the task itself.
2) This is possible as well, but once again, it is unfortunately not available straight out of the box, so some development work would be required of you to make it happen; however, this should an easier task, but it is still definitely one for a skillful developer.
Hint: the main thing to do in this case would be to make a taxonomy.php file, that would handle the display of items, related to the specific categories.
By the way, if you are not a developer, but absolutely must have this feature on your site, then my best suggestion for you is to turn to the forums, or Envato’s freelance marketplace, http://freelanceswitch.com/ to find a reputable freelancer for the job.
Hope this helps!
