I’ve got another question
I would like to reshape the thumnails to a 295×166px dimension, and have only 3 placed on each line.
I’ve read some old posts here, changed the $desired (with and height) definitions, and experimented with the GRID section of the style.css – I can get the thumbnails working on my desired size but the list always breaks with the websites defined width and I cant get them to be correctly aligned with the website’s width.
Is there any easy way to get this working?’
thanks
Hi there,
once again, thank you for your compliment about the theme, and for the purchase.
As far as your latest question goes, in order to achieve what you are after, you would have to modify the grid, and adjust the code in multiple files, which is most definitely not an easy task, given its complexity, so my best suggestion for you is to hire a developer, if you are not sure how to make this modification happen, but absolutely have to have it in your copy of the theme.
Having said that, the exact files you would have to modify are the following:
By the way, please check out the first post from the top, on the 94th page of this forum, posted by a user named “sublimegraphic”, as that might give you a better idea of what you have to do.
Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
OnionEye
I’m sorry, asked to many questions. Not fair of me. Have worked most things out now so thanks and appologies.
Just a few things, how to i remove the icon in the circle next to the “portfolio”.
Remove arrow pointing right next to after “categories” in the portfolio and remove the “Current” icon that comes up over the portfolios.
Wheres is the jquery.header.custom.js file ?. How do i find it so i can make mods to it.
I hope this isn’t to much trouble and thanks, love the theme
Hi there,
glad you love the theme! Oh, and no need to apologize. Everything is A-OK.
To answer your questions:
1, 2) The following custom CSS code should help:
You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.
As far as the arrow goes, you would have to remove it manually from the theme-functions.php file, found in the /yin_and_yang/function-includes/ directory on your server. Hint: look for the following piece of code and remove it: http://snippi.com/s/9iemkbk
3) The mentioned file is found under the /wp-content/themes/yin_and_yang/js/ directory on your server.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Don’t worry removed the round icon next to “portfolio” manged to delete the right code. Answers to the others would be fab. Thanks so much
Hi there,
too late; already provided you with the code for that, but it’s OK. I also provided you with the answers to the rest of your questions, so please check them out.
All the best,
OnionEye
Hi There, How do I add the contact form?
Cheers
Hi there,
thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it.
Please read the documentation, that’s found in the main folder. It contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme, including the contact form.
By the way, the contact form shortcode goes into the “HTML” view of the content editor (large text area), which appears when you are editing an existent, or making a new page.
Sincerely,
OnionEye
hi folks
can i change the client logos at the bottom to be a testimonial section – remove the logos and have some random testomonials in and out
also the navigation doesnt seem to have the same layout as the demo site – i dont get the thin black bar above the text ?
and also – its a great theme layout – well done
Hi there,
glad you find the theme great! Thanks for buying it.
To answer your questions:
1) You can certainly change the client logos section into something else, but since this is not available out of the box, some development work would be needed of you, which is most definitely a task for a developer.
Hint: the main files to modify in this case are template-home.php and style.css. Other files are subjected to change as well, depending on how exactly you want your modification to work.
2) The thin black bar is definitely there; it’s just that you don’t see it because the admin bar is covering it up, when you are logged in your WordPress admin panel. Either disable the bar, or log out, to see the mentioned part of the theme in action.

hi folks
I am tryingto embed the contact form plugin into the portfolio section of the site and the shortcode needed is simply displaying and not displaying the actual form….
please help – i am loving the clean fresh approach of this theme – just a few little issues which i know you will be able to sort out for me
Thanks
Hi there,
glad you are loving the theme! Thanks for the purchase again.
As far as the contact form goes, you are almost definitely not embedding it right. It’s possible that you are maybe missing some required characters, like the closing quote for example, so please make sure the form is correctly formatted, and put in the “HTML” view of the content editor (large text area), instead of the “Visual” view.
Here is an example of a properly formatted contact form shortcode, for your convenience:

Hello, Small question
Is it possible to disable the date (in the portfolio)?
if so, how?
Thanks SO MUCH
Hi there,
thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it.
You can remove the date with the following custom CSS code:
The code can be included at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

hello !
I managed to print, on the bottom of every portfolio thumbnail, the name and category of every specific item. It works just fine but, just like I was thinking, I cant make the php ‘echo’ of multiple categories for a portfolio project, just the first one.
This code was written at template-home.php , right after the project-content div.
<h1><?php the_title(); ?></h1> <?php echo '<p>' . $term -> name . '</p>' ?>I’m sure there’s a easy way to solve this
thanks in advance!
Hi there,
please have a look at the “eq_get_ajax_project” function in the theme-functions.php file, which controls the layout of the opened portfolio item, to get an idea how the categories that belong to a certain item are outputted properly (the categories are put in the $terms variable, and then echo-ed by using the foreach loop).
Hope this helps!

Hi,
I’m having an issue with the theme whereby when the users visits the homepage for the first time they can’t view the videos. Only if they navigate to another page and come back to the homepage do they re-appear.
Have just re-installed the default theme and when testing on the lastest version of chrome on windows and mac after deleting the cache the videos on the homepage don’t display, the black ajax loader appears and then another smaller image but the video doesn’t appear and literally freezes the screen.
Any assistance with this would be great.
Thanks,
Liam

Thanks so much onioneye. one more thing, is there a bit of code to remove the “CURRENT” icon that hovers over the portfolio being viewed. And a way to remove the sliding white tab above the menu at page top.
Cant thank you enough. Have a great day.
Hi there,
you are very much welcome! Glad I could be of some help.
To answer your latest questions:
1) Sure thing. The following should work for you:
2) The sliding bar can be removed with the following code:
You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.
By the way, I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you, but I regretfully can not provide anymore custom code for you, so if you have any further modifications you would like to make to the theme, you will have to do it yourself, or alternatively hire someone to do it for you. Hi there,
I am currently using this theme but am having trouble removing the dates in the portfolio section. I have inserted the code specified previously in an earlier post and that had worked, but when I had to remake the site (I got too bold) I inserted the same code again but the dates remain?? Also how would I go about removing the 3 dotted lines that goes across the portfolio page?
Many thanks
Hi there,
thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it.

1) Please make you way over to http://onioneye.ticksy.com/ and repost this question, while making sure you post the URL to your site as well, so I can see what changes you made, in order for the code to work properly with the modified copy of the theme.
2) The dotted border can be removed with the following custom CSS code:

Hi, I amazing theme! Congrats.
Is it possible to have separate portfolios? For example, a page that only shows “x” categories, then another page that only shows “y” categories. Instead of the filtering system that is currently on the live preview. If this is possible, I’ll buy the theme as this is close to suiting all my needs
Hi there,
glad you find the theme amazing! Thanks for taking an interest in it.
As far as your question goes, separating the portfolio on different pages is certainly possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, and that is most definitely a task for a developer.
By the way, if you are not a developer yourself, but absolutely need to have the mentioned feature available in your copy of the theme, then my best suggestion for you is to turn to the forums, or Envato’s freelance marketplace, http://freelanceswitch.com/ to find a reputable freelancer for the job, if you are still willing to buy the theme, of course.
I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do!

Hi there,
I recently transferred the template/site to a new host. Got everything working ok, although when I try and send an email from the form I get this error… ‘There has been a mistake while sending the message. Please try again’.
Can you think of a reason why the contact form isnt working anymore?
Thanks in advance,
JM

Answering as we speak…
Hey- really great theme. I just had one concern with changing over to the portfolio style theme from pages
-my google analytics isn’t tracking which portfolio items are being clicked.. Am I setting something up wrong or is it just incapable of this at the moment? Also, will the portfolio items be crawled the same way by the google bot as ‘pages’ are ? Thanks-adam

I really like this theme (and your others ones too), but have fallen for this one – so would like to know if you’re considering making a responsive version of it? Thanks, Designerbird
Hi there,
glad you like my themes! Thanks for taking an interest in them.
The Yin & Yang theme does not have a responsive layout, but should still be very much usable on mobile devices, like the iPad. As far as the plans for making the theme responsive go, there aren’t any at the moment, unfortunately, but that can easily change sometimes in the near future; however, I can’t really promise anything right now.
My honest advice for you is to actually question why you are keen on a responsive website in the first place; just because it is trendy, or because your site already gets, or is expecting to get a lot of traffic from mobile devices?
Responsive is cool and dandy alright, but it’s far from a perfect solution for delivering content on mobile devices, and on top of that, I met a lot of people who want it, just because it’s cool, without actually needing it.
Having said all that, I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do!
Sincerely,
OnionEye
Hi,
I absolutely love the theme, it’s really customizable. Just one question: I want to remove or change the .view-button, (The ”+” image when you hover over a portfolio item). Is it possible to change this, or delete it completely including the circle?
Thanks in advance, Casper

hi there, i am thinking about buying this theme as it looks great. however, i need to have video on the homepage in order to showcase my video work. is it possible to set a post like this as the homepage:
http://oi46.tinypic.com/fk1it1.jpgThanks, look forward to hearing back from you
Hannah
Hi Hannah,
thank you for taking an interest in the theme! Glad you find it great looking.
As far as your question goes, WordPress doesn’t allow you to set a post as your homepage, so I am afraid some development work would be needed of you to make this happen. However, if you just want a video somewhere before the portfolio items, you can put its embed code (fetched from Vimeo, for example) directly in the template-home.php file, which controls the layout of the homepage. That should be easy peasy for anyone.
Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it!

Hi if i buy this can you install for my hosting account, is that free of charge.
Thank you Naushad.
Hi Naushad,
thank you for taking an interest in the Yin & Yang theme!
As far as your question goes, WordPress theme authors provide you with the full documentation, which contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme, so it’s usually up to you to go through this process, but in case you are not fond of that, you can always hire a freelancer to do it for you.
