Can you post screenshots of the full width versions, if links are unavailable?
Sure thing. Here they are:
What a breath of fresh air this theme is, really, really good!
I would like to turn off all font face stuff and just use normal fonts for this theme. Could you tell me how to go about it please?
Once again thanks for a great theme!
thanks for the wonderful compliments! Glad an experienced buyer like you finds the theme great!
To turn off the external fonts, just remove the links in the header.php file, under the “google fonts” section.
Very good theme. I have a question is there a way to change Project-link to just regular text and not a link so it can be used just for info?
of course there is a way. This should be pretty easy to achieve. A modification of 2-3 lines of code tops.
Thanks very much. I ended up purchasing before I saw your screenshots. I’m trying to make some modifications to minimize the space that the big date circle occupies. Can you show a simple way to remove it (and replace it with a more conventional date/meta under the post title in the main blog feed)? Similar to what the single post w/ sidebar looks like.
thanks for purchasing! Appreciate it!
If you want to remove the date circle, but keep the date, you need to move the post-meta section of the index.php file to some place under the post-content section. After that you would adjust the grid classes in these elements, and some of their CSS under the blog section of the main stylesheet (style.css). This is most definitely a task for someone who is proficient in CSS and HTML .
I hope this helps!

I allready set the permission of this file to 777. Any other ideas?
no worries about this. You are just chmoding a wrong file. The file you should actually give full permissions to is called custom.php, as stated in the docs.
oh cool! one other question: I don’t use the Portfolio on the Homepage, but on a Ppage called portfolio. And as I am using some custom ajax to reload the page and the menu also when clicking a link the “Home” menu get’s highlighted after loading a portfoilo item. cause it appends something like this to the root domain ”?portfolio=testitem”. So in the browser bar this appears “www.domain.com/?portfolio=testitem”. I want that theres the page name in front so like this “www.domain.com/portfolio?portfolio=testitem” is there a place where I can say to put it in front? Hope you get me… :-/
I have to correct myself: I have created a page “portfolio” and choose the template “Home” for this, so the portfolio itemas are shown on that page. When I click on a portfolio item it directs me to this page: www.domain.com/portfolio/itemname. The problem is, that allthough I am on the page “portfolio” the “Home” page is highlighted in the menu. Have You any idea how to fix this?
thanks in advance
can you please tell me which browser you are using?
Google Chrome & Firefox & Safari all on mac.
I don’t understand how you get that URL . Did you disable the AJAX effect, to enable the portfolio items to open in a different page?
Yes I am using a script to ajaxify the page loading. So yes, it’s like opening the in a different page or reloading the container. So it’s like sending someone the link to a specific portfolio item. why is the home menu item highlighted and not the current page menu item?
If the portfolio items are opening in another page, then your site is not in fact not using AJAX to load the content of the items. The home link wouldn’t be highlighted in the first place, if the AJAX effect was in place. Can you please send me a link to your site, so I can check things out by myself?
By the way, I’m leaving the town today, so expect to see my answer either tomorrow, or on Sunday.
Thanks for your understanding!
ok thanks, I fixed the problem on my own. one last question, ist it possible to change the thumbnail dimensions of the porftolio page. I want them to be wider. I have a liitle experience in coding, but i have to now wich files to edit. thanks in advance!
As far as the portfolio thumbnails are concerned, the file you need to modify is called “template-home.”
thanks, i get it working. for anybody who’s interested. you have to change the number of items in jquery.quicksand.init.js as well to have the sorting function working.
one last thing. I knwo, that your file is not compatible in the internet explorer 7 and down. i viewed your theme in this browser and it’s completely thrown togehter. is there a way to avoid the user from using this browser? are there many users using this browser?
thanks again for this great theme!
glad you got this sorted out! Congrats!
As far as IE7 is concerned, it all depends on your user base, which you can keep track of, if you use web analytics, like google analytics: http://www.google.com/analytics/
According to statscounter, IE7 ’s market share is pretty low, and is diminishing rapidly with each and every month: http://gs.statcounter.com/#browser_version-ww-monthly-201011-201111
Can you tell me how to do this?
Very good theme. I have a question is there a way to change Project-link to just regular text and not a link so it can be used just for info?
You need to remove the anchor HTML element, under the line of code where “Project URL ” text is found. After that is done, you would just echo the $project_url variable in the same place.
All of the mentioned code can found in the single-portfolio.php and theme-functions.php files.
ok the link its not there anymore but the text that I want there as a regular text comes up like this:
there is no spaces and the http:// shows it things its a link
How can I fix this?
thank you so much
Ah, yes. The URL is escaped in the portfolio-metaboxes.php file (code line 289). Just unwrap the esc_url function around the $_POST variable, and everything should work fine.
Hi, i love his theme. But when I’m going to edit the codes, I got an error message that says; The theme you ask for does not exist.
I have uploaded the theme as i should ?
Pleas, can you help me?
this was just a small issue caused by an ampersand in the title of the theme, making it impossible to edit the code through WordPress’ text editor. I provided a fix for this a few hours ago, along with some other minor things, and extended the portfolio items to hold up to ten images each, instead of just five.
Please head to the “Downloads” page and get your fresh copy of the updated theme!
Just purchased your theme – GREAT !!!
1. Where can i change the words of my contact-form? i want to change from «Message» to «Leave your Message here»
2. Where can i change the settings of the portfolio «hover-actions»? i don’t want, that the titel of the project appears on the thumbnail.
Many many thanks in advance!
glad you find the theme great! Thanks for purchasing it!
Here are the answers to your questions:
1) The labels of the contact form can be changed in the contact-form-shortcode file, that’s found in the /yin_and_yang/function-includes/theme-shortcodes/contact-form-shortcode/ directory.
2) You can change this by modifying the code in the template-home.php file (“project-link” section), and the style.css file (“Home template” section).
Such a clean, beautiful theme.
Any chance of multiple portfolio page support?
Also, any estimates on when the increased image per post (more than 5) update will be ready?
glad you find the theme beautiful!
The update arrived a few hours ago. Now you can have ten images per portfolio item, instead of just five.
As far as the multiple portfolios are concerned, I don’t think they will be coming anytime soon.
I attempted to install this on WP and got the following code:
Warning: fopen(/home/dluxr/nice.com/wp-content/themes/yin-yang-clear-and-slick-wp-portfolio-theme2/style.css) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/dluxr/nice.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4339

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/dluxr/nice.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4345
That said, how do I resolve the issue?
you are not supposed to upload the whole folder, which you downloaded, when you bought the theme. Please unzip it first and read the documentation found within, that will guide your through the installation and the complete setup of the theme.
You are very much welcome!
just purchased your theme, congrats for the nice job by the way.
I would like to get almost the same contact panel than the one on your live demo but cant manage to get it. I published the contact button and panel slide properly, i put the short code [one_half] but i cant make it work and looks like yours. Is it possible to get the html code for this? or is it possible to import somewhere some files to get exactly your live demo website and tweak from there? Cheers.
glad you like the theme! Thanks for buying it!
Here’s the content of the demo’s contact page, that goes in the HTML view of the content editor, if you want to have the same formatted page as the one in the demo. You just need to change a few things, such as the email address and some other data.
By the way, once you are done with editing the page, be sure to select it in the “Top Drop-Down Page” option, found inside the Theme Options panel, and you should be good to go.
This theme crashed my blog, could’nt log in after i logged out and i cound’nt change anything in the css or php files (I had to juse FTP and edit this things via filezilla) ? Can’t figure out what’s wrong, I installed it like every theme I try. Now I had to get help fron my host to set the theme back to default, and delete this one…
I want help, because this theme is so beautiful!
I’m really glad you find the theme beautiful!
Looking at your previous comment, I see that the theme was working before. Are you sure you haven’t installed a corrupt plugin, or something like that? Anyway, please grab the updated theme folder from your Downloads page, and follow the directions in the docs to properly install and setup the theme.
Thank you for your tips, It’s posible that I have a plugin that is corrupt. Is there some way I can figure out wich one it is?!
Thank you, Thank you! I had a plugin that was corrupt, now my blog is perfect!!
Have a nice christmas time, hugs Jorid
you are very much welcome! Glad you removed that pesky little plugin, and managed to get your blog up and running by doing so.
Have a nice Christmas time as well,
OnionEye *hugs you*
I figured it out, since I befor had a much larger blog – my some of my pictures was 700px. I made a code that auto resized all the bigger pictures to 500px width. An offcourse all pictures got smaller! Now, I’m about to edit the pictures manually.
Thank again, JK
Awesome! Congrats on figuring it out!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Hi Im thinking about purchasing this theme. Can you use video in the portfolio posts?
Of course you can. You can look at the examples in the demo, to see how the posts with the videos look like.
Have lots of fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
I have just bought this Wordpress theme. Do you have the PSD files for each page? I was so shocked when I only saw the icon files under PSD file.
I am expecting the PSD files for each page, so I can customize a bit.
sorry to hear you were shocked about not finding the whole mockup of the theme in the PSDs.
The main reason why the mockup isn’t included is that the theme is so minimalistic, that only its icons, and the background patterns were needed to be made in photoshop, as everything else related to design is so plain simple, that making a whole mockup would be a waste of time and resources.
The other reason is that I don’t do my website design mockups anymore in photoshop, even though I consider myself proficient in that piece of software. With the advancements of web technologies such as CSS3 and HTML5 , I’m able to do my mockups straight in the browser, skipping photoshop, and thus saving large amounts of time and resources in developing a website. So you see, CSS3 and HTML5 enable me to do everything what photoshop can, when it comes to these sites that don’t require heavy, or should I say complex graphics. Those are the reasons I made and included only the layered PSD files for the icons.
I hope you understand.
Once again, I’m honestly sorry you feel let down. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if I can assist you with anything else.
I love your theme! It’s just about perfect. The one thing I would like to know if it can be changed is the transition when clicking between portfolio items… the menu slides up and down. Is there any way to not have this transition between every portfolio item? It’s making me a bit dizzy.
glad you love the theme!
The transitions can be easily changed in one of the jQuery files; namely, the jquery.header.custom.js file.
Is it fairly easy to change the jQuery files to adjust the transition? Can it be adjusted to just fade in the next portfolio item? And can the roll over transition also be adjusted?
Also, any possibility you will have a responsive/mobile theme available?
it is possible and fairly easy to change the mentioned transitions for someone who’s proficient in CSS and jQuery.
As far as the responsive theme is concerned, I will deploy one more fixed theme, and then I plan to fully transit to developing responsive themes.
I wants to show the categories my blogposts are labeled in, instead of my name in the end of the posts.
My author code is:
Can you help me rewrite this, so my readers can see the category instead ?
thanks for saying such nice things in your previous comment! Appreciate it!
The following code should help you achieve what you are looking for: http://snippi.com/s/ctff6f4
By the way, please respond to your own threads. It makes it easier for me, and for other people, to keep track of the comments. You can do that by hitting the reply button, found at the end of the first comment in the thread.
Thanks again, now www.joridkvam.com is perfect.
One more little problem, I can’t get the images in portfolio to be 700px. I reduce the images in photoshop, but after I uploads they are smaller.
glad you find it perfect!
As far as the images are concerned, they aren’t resized at all. The timthumb script is not going to resize the images smaller than 700 pixels in width, as that would ruin their quality; i.e. make them blurry. You need to upload images of exactly 700 pixels in width, or more, if you want them resized to the proper size, but never less than 700.
I have tried to upload a 700px image, before all my pictures on the blog was 700px. But when I upload the picture, it dont fill the whole width of the portfolio.. Hmm! Take a look: http://www.joridkvam.com/inspirasjon-og-bilder/
now I see it. I also see that you changed the code of some parts of the theme as well. Try temporarily reverting to the original files, while storing the modified ones, to see if that works.
In home page, the portfolio menu automaticly goes on “ALL” category. I would like to preselect another portfolio category in list. How can I do that?
you need to find a way to remove the “active” class from the li element, in the template-home.php file, and assign it to another li element, that represent a specific portfolio category. This is most definitely a task for a developer, especially because the categories are dynamically outputted.
Hi, amazing theme!
When I set mailto:email@example.com in the contact info shortcode the text disappears. If I remove the mailto link it appears.
Quite honestly, I’m unsure if additional HTML is permitted in the shortcode attributes. Please try editing the contact-info-shortcode file, found in the /yin_and_yang/function-includes/theme-shortcodes/ directory, to see what you can come up with.
very nice man, i love the cool layout and clean concept. great theme indeed.
Thanks! Glad you like the theme!
Ive just bought your theme ! and im very happy but a little perplexed ! I would like to have firstly drop down menus on the top of the screen, like you have on the screenshot but cant work out how !
also i would like my portfolio pages to show up on the front page like your screen shot but also cant work out how !
Please bear in mind i have no idea how to do HTML !
please read the theme’s documentation, found in the main folder, that will guide you through the installation and the setup of the theme. Especially make sure you read the part on how to setup the homepage and the menu, as that will give the answers to your questions.
