Strange problem with my theme. could be Cufon

Hi! My new theme was accepted today. I’ve checked it in all browser, it was ok, but some users have that kind of problem http://images.pure.pl/images/mozscreens.jpg . I have no idea how to fix it, because on every computer I have access to in works fine.. So please, if you can check http://rzepak.pure.pl/themeforest/purecorp/ and help me somehow, I would be very grateful.. Maybe one free copy of all my themeforest items will be some reward for a person who will help me find a problem. Thank you

    sIFR, Cufon and @font-face licenses

Edit: Sorry for the misspelling in the title. For future reference, the titles here don’t support the ó character.

Hey everyone, I thought I would take a second to clarify some of the license restrictions when using custom fonts in sIFR, Cufón, @font-face, etc.

    1) If there isn’t a clear license available, you need to contact the author of the font and get explicit permission to use the font in the way you intend.

    2) If you plan on using the font in a template here at Theme Forest, you need to request explicit permission to use the font in a commercially redistributed website template and clarify with the author whether or not you can include the font in the download files or if your buyers will need to download the font themselves via a provided link in the documentation sources.

    3) If you convert the font to be used with Cufón and you include the font javascript file, that is essentially the same as including the font itself. If the font license doesn’t allow for redistribution, don’t include it in any way in the download files. Contact the author and get permission to do so first.

    4) Include a copy of the license with the font files and in your template documentation (or a link). This makes it much easier for the reviewers to check it and will take less time to review your files.

    5) Telling us that another author has used the “free font” you want to use and that you should be able to use it too does not mean you can use the “free font”. The other author may have obtained explicit permission directly from the font author or something else. If one author obtains explicit permission from the author, that applies only to that author. Everyone else will need to do the same thing until the font author provides a new public license.

    - -

All in all, if you aren’t sure, just get permission from the author anyway. Using fonts in some situations can be a grey area, especially if we aren’t familiar with the license or if the license isn’t very clear. To speed things up, getting explicit permission from the font author (and providing proof) removes your situation from the grey area zone.

If you guys have any questions, please ask. That way if we don’t know the answer, we can find out and speed up the process later. :-)

    Cufon replaced fonts

    I’m confused -

I’ve seen some templates use commercial fonts (like Myriad Pro), and those .js files have Adobe copyright in the header.

    How is this allowed?

    Use cufon or @font-face?

Title explains it, whats better to use?

Certainly @font-face is better than using any javascript alternate, but then @font-face is only recognized by new versions of browsers (except ie, which has it since ie4)...

    What do you guys prefer?

And btw, atleast IE was ahead in something…

    Cufon hover doesn't work

    Hi

I’m having for the first time a problem with Cufon. SO normally to make a hover possible with Cufon we need to add this code:

    Cufon.replace('element', {hover: true});

    Right?

Well this time it won’t work :(, here’s the demo: Demo

I’ve also got a little jQuery script that will remove the class ‘active’ when clicked and add that class to the clicked anchor, this one doesn’t work either, I think it’s because the Cufon isn’t working like it should ? Anyone got an idea?

    cufon vs. @font-face

So, what you think? Obviously will depend on what are you looking for, the functionaly, design, and many more. But, which will be best in a common/middle situation?

    @Font-face vs Cufon

    Hey guys,

I was just wondering what do you prefer to use for font replacement?. Is it @Font-face or Cufon? Also which one is better? which is better for SEO , Browser compatibility and loading time. I believe that cufon is based on javascript so it wont work if javascript is disabled on your browser, right?

I would like to hear yo suggestions :)

How to prevent Cufon replacement flashing of content?

    Hi,

a buyer is complaining about Cufon replacement being slow in IE8 …

I’m not sure how to deal with this – do you have any idea how to prevent font replacement from flashing? Is this some variation of ‘Flash of unstyled content’?

    Thanks, FT

Cufon help. WTF is going on with this?

I have never had any issues with Cufon until now. For some unknown reason cufon seems to replace all the text on only dated archives.

    check this link

Everything else is perfect. I tried everything I could think of and have not figured out why it does this.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cufon Security

    Hello,

When you create cufon files you are supposed to limit the use of the file by entering domains into the security field.

How do you guys do this regarding the files that the buyer receives?

Do you simply not enter any domains into the security field? Or do you tell the buyer how to create the file in the documentation?

    Thanks

    Cufon fonts license

    Hi

Do i need to buy a license for a font used in my HTML template with cufon?

I have this doubt in my mind, who pays the license the buyer the author. Are there fonts that are safe for use without worrying about legal issues?

Including cufon JS font files in templates

When using an embedded font with something like cufon are we allowed to include the generated javascript font file? Or do we have to explain in the documentation how to create the font file with cufon for the user to insert themselves?

Also I saw a thread recently about embedding Myriad Pro. Some people were saying it’s fine to embed but others were not… From what it says on the Adobe site it looks like it’s legal to embed but is there anyone here that is selling a theme with it that can say for certain?

    Cufon+IE8+jQuery+animate+opacity = Problem

I’m working on a slideshow and I’ve found a little problem that only comes in ie8. Rest of the browsers work…

Apparently if I use cufon and I want to fade the text to 0 (by setting the opacity to 0).. everything works except the cufon text.

    Code example:

    $(’.class’).animate({ opacity:0 },500,’swing’);

The cufon text is working properly and is in a h1 tag inside the .class div tag… like so:

    Small Title Goes Here

Lorem ipsum quod cotidieque id nam…

    The p and a tags fade… the cufon h1 tag does not…

Anybody know a fix (had this problem?) ?

    Century Gothic font via Cufon

    Hello,

I’ve seen here several WP themes use the Century Gothic font via Cufon.

Is it legal? Or do they simply not include it in the final download file & instead instruct the buyer how to purchase this font and/or another font?

It’s a very beautiful font I’d like to use!! I don’t mind purchasing it, but I’ve read that for each user a fee must be paid… =/ Which is of course out of the question.
