Profile

“Anto, better known as Tenshi Anto to fans of his band, Summerline, is an amazing musician and vocalist and has the talent to do anything he wants to do and to go anywhere he wants to go.” – Mark Lewis, Rock Over America

At the precipice of releasing his second solo EP, “Broken Pieces”, Anto is excited. “I have a new vision of making sound. It flies from a kind of an orchestral sound with soundtrack influences to pop/rock music with electro melodies that gives it that kind of originality that carries you inside the deepest side of yourself. Basically it’s an introspective trip through this reality with no filters, no jokes, just pure truth.”

Music kept calling out to Anto but it wasn’t until he was sixteen that he got his first guitar. “I don’t think it left my hands for months. My fingers hurt so much from learning to play but I never wanted to stop.” With a couple of friends, he put together a hardcore punk band called No Sim and was soon playing clubs in and around Milan, Italy. “I think that music found me, not the opposite. What I did was just listen to “her” voice, calling my name.”

His musical style shifted as his influences changed and in 2006 he joined forces with Alexander Valencia, Andrea Marullo and Francesca Lucrezio to develop a new sound and new band, Summerline. Infusing pop/rock with a hint of celtic flavour and mixing it with the sweeping drama of movie soundtracks, “the main idea was to create a kind of atmosphere that could create pictures in your mind, not just emotions and melodies.”

Music wasn’t just a passion; Anto wanted music to be his life. He taught himself to play piano, to compose music in different genres from punk to pop to orchestral pieces for soundtracks, and to work an audioboard to enable him to produce the exact sounds he heard in his head. He became fluent in English and when music kept calling to him, he walked away from his second year at the University of Milano-Bicocca where he was studying Biotechnology.

In 2008 Summerline signed with the famous German studio, House of Music Entertainment and were soon collaborating with director Robert Broellochs (Melanie C, Shaggy, The Cure etc.) and other industry professionals. One of their songs was featured in the music film documentary, “God Smoked”.

It was with sad hearts that Summerline parted ways but in its afterglow Anto embraced the freedom of a solo career. He teamed with writer Christine Noels and found new inspiration to create songs that reached further inside, where lyrics and expression are brazenly real. Anto’s voice is intimate and deeply emotional and he manages to sing with both strength and vulnerability.

His first solo EP, “Whisper My Name” was a bold move with Anto stepping into the role of producer. It was a decision that worked brilliantly, getting high praise from reviewers and fans alike. Now, with more experience under his belt, he is ready to launch his second self-produced EP, “Broken Pieces”. With the video for the first single, “Back in Time” it’s easy to see the charisma that is so large onstage.

Anto’s music reflects his belief that everyone can rise up to be a better version of themselves – to be true to their own road, to change their own little world and to fight to create an extraordinary life. It’s a belief that Anto embodies with each step he takes down his own road.

“WOW this is brilliant one of my favorite artists so far…image is wicked, vocals great, songs excellent, hooks all over the place, with a strong production… I am amazed at the tone of the vocals, can’t wait to hear more, Anto has a huge future if handled right.” – Andros Georgiou, AGE
