Steven Melin is an award-winning video game, film, & television music composer based in Atlanta, GA. He has previously assisted industry veteran composers Garry Schyman and Penka Kouneva and is a writer for Vision1 Music, one of the leading music suppliers for ABC, CBS, & NBC television networks.

With a specialization in fantasy orchestral and chiptune music, Melin blends classical and unusual instruments with electronic synthesis to produce gripping soundtracks. As a multi-instrumentalist, he frequently records live instruments from around the world into his music, including his own creations.

Melin is also an educator. He teaches private piano, strings, and composition lessons and frequently hosts guest lectures and master classes at schools, universities, and conferences.

Melin is a graduate from Columbia College Chicago with a Masters in Music Composition for the Screen, where he studied under Hollywood film composers David McHugh and Gary Chang and is a graduate from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelors in Piano Performance.

As an outspoken supporter of video game music, Melin also performs video game piano covers under the YouTube alias VGPianoMan. He is an active member of BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.).
