No one Want Help Me Until Now Only Pandaaaa
At first the way i learned was, not to copy our mimic other artists, but to look at their files, and de-construct the way they create layers, the way they code. But that’s just me. i NEVER Read the Manual – i just one day downloaded a free file of the month – and really looked at how it’s made. Then realised i need Optical Flares…So Got into Optical Flares and then got into other 3rd party plug-ins – Trapcode and just basically messed around with the parameters without knowing what i’m doing…..basically ‘Reverse Engineering is a cheap form of learning’.
The problem is – everyone wants to create exciting, flashy, whizzy ‘wooow’ dynamic effects. Quickly. But eventually, the reality hit me – i needed to start with the very basics.
And so, i then discovered Video Co Pilot Basic Training ;)))) And then i discovered Creative Cow. And i did tutorial after boring tutorial. basic, simple keyframe animating. – how to make a ball bounce across the screen. ANd Then i learned how to animate with fluid natural motion. Great. Then i built from there with more advanced stuff. and more advance stuff after that…
And it WAS boring i’m afraid. But once i learned the basics – the Title Safes, The Snap To Grids, The Rule Of Thirds, Render Formats, Aspect Ratios, Null/Adjustment/Camera Layers, 16 bit banding, compression, etc, etc, i found my knowledge increased exponentially. I could … i could do things with ‘expresions’ and scripting hat my creative consciousness could only dream up.
So if a client NOW comes to me and has a concept of making this object morph into this object and shatter into a million glass pieces -i can perfectly execute this concept and envisage how i’m going to design it – because – there is a strong correlation between knowledge, mastery, and efficiency and professionalism. Something that would take me a day to do before (animating 50 layers of blinking text) , can take me 10 seconds now (a quick expression and link layers).
Also, basic training teaches one restraint. It is easy to go mad with After Effects. i.e – just because you CAN use that fancy shiny lens flare, – doesn’t mean you actually should !!!
My Advice? Look at Video-copilot – 10 BASIC steps to get you started – http://www.videocopilot.net/basic/
Also, look at Creative Cow.
Hope this helped
Thank For your advice Panda

Man… you cannot just say, I want to became awesome motion graphics designer. It takes months, even years of learning, watching, working, testing, trying, etc. It sounds like you’re saying: “I want the best candy there is and I want it now!” What my advice to you would be, buy books on amazon.com or some other website on design, colors, composition, motion graphics etc., and learn after effects in the way. Good luck!
Amrtarek saidOn topic: I would recommend sitting down for a few hours a day to just mess with the program, that’s how I did it. I’m not amazing at After Effects but I guess i’m good enough to sell a few things on videohive. However you learn I guarantee that it will take a long time, after effects is not a program you can learn overnight.
