when you are starting off doing webdesign don’t try to create something super creative. It sounds weird but it’s true. Before you push boundaries you have to master the current state of the art first. Take this theme for example: http://themeforest.net/item/aura-responsive-multipurpose-template-v181/7786132 it might seem like easy doing a design like that but truth is: it isn’t! Take this or any other more “common” theme on the marketplace and try building something similar – it will help you a lot learning about designing themes. Once you managed to design a beautiful “normal” theme – go ahead and do something unique.
The site you posted a link to here will not be accepted – no matter how much you change or improve on the layout. It has no focus, layout or functionality, sorry
Hope it helps a bit.
definitely an improvement. Not sure about the placement though: The “Just for you” and “Featured” items only rarely. Might be better for exploring the site to show the “New items” on top, right now I need to scroll down quiet a bit to see them.
I have opened a ticket a while ago. Then 7 days ago they “updated” my ticket with the contents of this thread. Since then no movement.
The problem still persists.
Is your support team actually forwarding these messages to the corresponding department, or do requests get lost in the mass of support requests?
Ticket (Request) ID (changed with the new system?) is 9189.
when I read “rejected” I thought of something worse. You can surely improve to TF standards. Here is what I would improve:
-the logo is out of date. Consider buying one on Graphicriver
-menu isn’t very exciting – especially font size and color. The dropdown should have a smaller font size than the main menu and also use a gray that is less strong than the main menu. Right now it’s vise versa.
-get rid of the dark blue stroke around the shopping cart icons and round it corners
-Slider: round the corners of the read more buttons, and make the button – not the font – bigger.
-the slider buttons are too far to the side. move them more to the midle 10-20px
-“Shop Now” and “Sale” text in the circles is way to big. Maybe try giving them some color as well: The Shop Now in a light blue and the sale in a light green.
-read more buttons: text too big, background too small. Also get rid of the stroke and round them more.
-on the subpages you show the title (news, Contast us etc) in a blue header element which looks a bit out dated. Try making it bigger and with a smooth background image or so.
- You need many more blog and page/post page variations! Just check other themes to see what I mean.
- You will also need more flexibility – show that off with homepage variations. Maybe consider using visual composer
Hope that helps!
@staff, could you give us some response if you are aware of the problem and working on an fix?
I tested it in the meanwhile on 3 different iPhone and 4 different iPad types – all are having this bug.
Yes, seems like all mobile devices of apple are having this problem.
Would be great if this could be fixed soon!
on my iphone 5s, I can’t access any page that is hidden behind a drop down menu here on the marketplaces. Make Money, Affiliates and Sign Out / In are working great, but the other ones are not tap’able .
If I tap on forums -> Item Discussion, I instead will be redirected to graphicriver (through the logo below the menu). Same goes for any other item that is overlaying over a link.
This problem occurs for a couple of weeks now. I thought somebody else was going to report it, but it seems nobody is having this issue. Can somebody else with an iphone confirm the problem?

Since you are working on payment options: I know many authors a trying hard and take every chance they can get to get “off” ThemeForest to do their own stuff. Some themes or plugins are so complex and high value now that it seems better to create a dedicated landing page with many more information and purchase options than the envato item pages can offer. So far there is not yet the right way/solution for these attempts but as soon as someone has figured out many will try to do the same.
So from an authors standpoint I would love to see the exclusive requirement to drop and to at least allow sales on the own, private page (not other marketplaces). I collaborated on a top selling theme with another author and I seriously believe it is not getting the attention a marketplace (in general) can offer. Maybe envato can even create a system for “off” marketplace purchases?
