In my opinion there’s been great strides this past year with increasing the communication between staff and authors. We may not always love every feature, and there are certainly lots of features most of us would still desperately like to see, but once upon a time we might have had one, maybe two staff members posting in the forums. Now there’s a whole bunch of staff participating in the forums, which means more and more staff have their finger on the “community pulse”. That doesn’t mean every suggestion we make is going to be acted upon, but I don’t think there’s any question our voices are being heard more than ever now. So let’s keep the new features rolling, keep voicing our requests, and start looking forward to what’s possible in 2014
Thanks CodingJack! We are all spending more and more time on the forums. We learn a lot from you all here. More planned in 2014 and really feel like the teams are ready to kick it up another notch again. We will work to ship more, grow more and talk more
Congratulations to you both, a huge achievement and amazing of you to acknowledge the help you’ve had from the Community along the way. That is the magic, that and good ol’ hard work huh?
VF saidAt Envato Marketplaces, we are definitely listening to all your feedback, the good the bad and the ugly
Kriesi saidHope staffs doesn’t see the entire community feedback this way! I think at some point, a single comment may appear biased but if we follow the pattern of comments on same thread or follow the commenter, it will bring better understanding. Of course it is almost impossible to grasp real motive behind any suggestion / complaint when the thread has 100s of comments!
DS says that the profits from a few here are unheard of on any marketplace, I just provide the numbers and show that this is not true and that Themeforest is actually a nice place to sell. Also I think you give people to much credit ;D I would argue that most complaints start because authors are not happy with their sales and then try to find a reason why this is the case. Or do you really think that if the thread creators latest item would have sold 100 times on the two days of the frontpage he would have opened this thread? ;D
We are working on many aspects of the sites you’ve raised in this thread and many others and your discussions provide great input. So does our own data, like for example our extraordinary traffic growth and sales growth as a community. When we make site changes we also check total sales conversions, total sales, as well as individual stats to make sure the results are good before rollin out fully. If we are worried we roll back.
We are listening, and will keep working to improve your results as fast as our fingers can type code and our marketing campaigns can run out the door
VF saidHaha! That’d be the truth-reader badge.
Coriiander saidBadge title: “Passed our quiz at 13th attempt”
Will those who passed the quiz, which they studied really, really hard for, receive a QuizMaster-badge? Badges, it’s all about the badges.
Thanks for sharing, I feel better about all my attempts at the quiz!
We’ll be watching the queues closely guys
Big shout out to Scott for starting and running this thread, it has been FUN!
Andy aka Parallelus, thanks so much for your kind words, we LOVED meeting you and everyone else in the community. We’ve returned to Melbourne and our other many locations very inspired to do more to help you and create an ever greater place to introduce buyers to our incredible authors work!
Howdy, partners! Some strange cowboy folk in town today, causing all sorts of trouble. Sheriff’s not gonna be happy when he finds out ‘bout all the hootin’ and hollarin’ going on in Rawhide town. Them Envato boys and girls sure do look kinda funny! Yee-haw!
Some of these photos need a caption contest don’t they?
Ah that sounds awesome! Should of just shot the video while you were giving the speech I was worried that ‘strangers’ were getting the info and ‘the family’ wasn’t
Looking forward to it!EDIT: What’s the author update email…. not sure I’ve ever had one of those?
And as promised, here is a blog post including the slides: http://notes.envato.com/trend-spotting/pressnomics-special-latest-wordpress-trends-revealed/
I hope it is useful to everyone, family comes first
Hey Scott – it would be really useful if that talk from Helen re usage and trends was shared with your authors also Will this be happening possibly?
Yes, that was out thinking Jonathan We are writing it up (and may even get a video of it together) for a blog post and will share in the author update email too was our thinking…hopefully that would be cool?
