Actually, something like this would be great if it was customizable!http://codecanyon.net/item/runa-financials/10834159
Hello CC, I’m looking for a plugin or something similar that will allow me to create my own custom calculator, and I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for on the site. I’m hoping that someone will be able to point me in the right direction, as I’m sure something like this already exist.
Ok, so basically, I’ve created a custom calculator in OS X numbers (Apple’s answer to Excel). It’s got defined formulas that I’ve created, and the results are displayed based on the users input.
I would like to have something that does this: User inputs data. Code calculates data and displays to user. I would also really love the ability to set conditionals, such as “IF x>0 Make text Green”, “IF x>0 Make text Red”. That sort of thing.
Now for the really big challenge:
I want to be able to group this data and display it in usable ways. Such as: Output A * Output B / Output C = a graph, or chart of some sort.
If you guys know of any plugins like this off of the top of your head, I’d really appreciate some feedback.
Thanks so much everyone! Have a great night.
Thanks again guys. This has been great for me to understand things better.
I wrote a few of the top authors and started asked, I’ve had one response that was like “Of course!” lol … So, this is looking like it’s going to be a great thing.
I would love to show demo sites CanYigit. I just have to be careful not to list one’s with “BUY THIS THEME NOW ” lol… because I promise, people will buy them, then be lost, and I’ll lose them as clients….
BUT … light bulb just went off. Instead of trying to pass it off as something I’ve done, Maybe change “Portfolio” to “Sites” then put a small text that says, “Here’s a few sites that I could possibly create for you.” ...then screen shot and link to the demo. This way, it’s not me saying, this is what I’ve done. It’s me saying, If you want X site, I can make that happen for you.
I’m not trying to re-sell, or anything strange. I’m sure (must of) you have been there before when getting started. I just need to have something up there long enough to get the first few clients, then I can start using my own work in the “Portfolio” section. Infuse01 had a great point too. Maybe make 2 sections on the site. Like have the listed theme, then after I make a site using it, show it completed for client next to it to show the exact work done. ....I don’t know….. It’s time to get creative though, because it’s sink or swim time now! lol.
Thanks everyone, I really do value everyone’s input.
I’m going the TF right now and looking for themes that I could potentially use for this. I figure about 10 or so should do the trick.
Again, thank you all for the clarity.
I thought it might be, but I figured, what the hell, I better ask to make sure.
Thank you guys so much. I wish Jeffery or any of the other Envato guys would step in here, but I’m sure they’re going to say the same thing, as long as the author ok’s it.
Thank you guys for understanding my request and responding so fast. I’m very appreciative.
@infuse01 Thanks for the advice. I’m just moved back to Louisiana, and people around here have no idea why they need a web site. I know that’s where I come in. I would charge more but here’s what I noticed my problem was. ...
Person: I need a website that shows off my work.
Me: I can do that.
Person: How much?
...Do some discovery...
Me: For something that size, $800
Person: Do you have anything you can show me?
.....This is the point where things fall part...
Me: Well, I’m still building up my portfolio, and I don’t really have anything to show right now.
I have went to school for web design & development. But I had to drop recently due to finical issues. So, I know my way around some code, and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty to make something work for someone.
I just figured that because no one knows who I am (I’ve been gone for over 10 years, so no contacts, no leads), and I have no portfolio, no one will want to pay me anything. So I dropped down to $300 for now until I can start getting some sites listed in my portfolio. Then it hit me! “I wonder if the TF guys would mind if I use a few images (or links) to promote myself?” This way, I can find costumers faster, and hopefully start charging more, and I would be buying far more TF files… so, I thought it was win/win. I’m sure there are other people doing this, but I’ve been around TF long enough to know, “Don’t piss off the authors!” lol You guys are the freaking magic makers as far as I’m concerned.
But all jokes aside, I’ll send you my personal info infuse01. Thanks guys. Anyone else, please feel free to chime in.
Why not a link to the theme?
Actually, if I comb through TF and find a few nice themes that are fully fleshed and don’t have the “Buy this theme” link on them, I wouldn’t mind doing that if it’s allowed. Like I said, I’m just trying not to step on anyone’s toes here, and would like to make sure that I’m going about this the right way.
Because I don’t want to miss out on possible clients to people that think they can do it themselves lol. I always tell people that I’m using themes, and they always raise their eyebrow. I feel like if I’m not there to hold their hand in explaining to them why using themes is a great choice, then they’ll feel like they’re getting ripped off. I’m currently charging $300 to “make” a site for someone. Minus the cost of the theme and minus the cost of my hosting… So, I’m only making around 200-240. I think that’s more then fair for this. I’m not trying to rip anyone off. I’m just trying to get more work. I need something to hold me over for a little while until I can become an author here one day myself. But right now, every day is a struggle.
Hello Envato family. I just thought of something and I figured it would be best to ask here before taking any action.
I’m currently flipping wp sites in my local area for small/local businesses. I would like to know if I can take screen shots of peoples themes and put them in my portfolio. Only screen shots. This way if someone see’s a portfolio site for example, and they want it, I could then come to TF, buy the theme from the author, and make it for the client and everyone wins.
I think this is a good idea, but I’m sure I’m not the first person that’s thought of this. I do fully respect this community and wouldn’t do something like this before I get the go ahead from authors in the community, and Envato themselves. Because it’s only a screen shot, I figure, theres nothing to lose, and if anything it’s a way to promote sales.
Any feedback about this would be great. Thank you all.
