Geesh, some people! Did they really think they were going to get away with it without anyone noticing? Hope the issue gets sorted soon!
Sorry the situation went sour for you. I’ve been burned myself in the past. That is why I never take on a job without at least a 30% deposit (usually 50%) and a short contracting detailing the work to be completed and the consequences for not paying. The money has to be in my bank account before I start any work!
Good luck, hope things work out for you!
When it comes to theming, Shopify is the best system, hands down! I’ve been developing for Shopify since its early days, and you truly can have an online store up and running in minutes just like they claim!
Magento may have lots of features, but you honestly won’t use half of them and all they serve to do is bloat the system. And I’ve heard it’s a royal pain to theme.
My only concern is that if tags are going to be required and items rejected for the wrong tags, etc. shouldn’t there be some sort of list of acceptable tags? Doesn’t seem fair to penalize authors if there aren’t any guidelines in place to begin with…
Just my 2 cents!
I also vote for Valonia! Mandarin is cool to, but it doesn’t necessarily read as an “a”...
And sometimes it’s merely to discuss the correct price, category, etc!
A few changes I would like to see made to the Marketplaces in the New Year, big and small, include:
- Revamp of the Review process. Seems like it has issues on a few different points, all of which have been discussed before
- More Social Media connection options
- Seller profiles with widget/module capability so you could turn on and off sections to display in-progress files, Collections, maybe recent external blog posts, etc.
- More leveling of the playing field by maybe introducing a feature to discover new and up-and-coming sellers with great files, but haven’t been here long enough or have been overlooked over in some way
There’s more I’m sure, but that’s a good starting point!
I applied, not sure if I’ll get in or not, but one can hope! So glad Envato is finally doing a photo marketplace!
