Hello Mike Contact the author of the plugin. You are writing in a public forum Go to the authors profile page and contact him. I’m sure he will help you (if you have a valid license).
Take a look at our portfolio and you will find what you are looking for!
are these for valid item-purchase-code verified installations? maybe there is a set of item purchase codes that make up the majority of these installations? could be someone sharing their item purchase code along with the package. we’ve found a few leaked codes when installation numbers spike and we disable new installations/updates for those particular codes.
We sold 2,010 copies of this plugin, but as we have “update notification” in the plugin we know how many times it has been installed. We don’t restrict the usage of the plugin trough the license key. I believe that if you do this then someone will just “crack it” and distribute it without.
Better provide extra content free stuff – if you enter the license key. However I think that each plugin would get installed less times if we could offer a developer license or discount on multiple purchases.
Unfortunately it doesn’t seam like we will ever get a solution on this issue!
I have some interesting stats on one of our popular plugins, which a lot of customers use for their clients websites. As we are not allowed to do self promoting I won’t mention the name of the plugin, but it is a plugin that lets you customize the wp-admin in WordPress. This is something that is very useful when you create websites for clients.
The plugin has been sold 2,010 times, but we know for a fact that there is currently 13,096 copies of the plugin installed.
My question is could this have been avoided that for every copy of this plugin sold it is on average installed on 6.5 websites? Could the number have been lower if we were able to offer discount on multiple purchases or offer a developer license that would fairly priced?
@Yatek it is definitely a bad idea to include your own jQuery or force the use of a specific version. As OriginalEXE says WordPress includes its own jQuery.
This is one of the most common errors we experience with plugins and themes. Whether you want to help your client and fix the error, so your plugin works is up to you!
We do help our customers even though the error is not in our plugin
@mchelle .. should the user be able to upload only one image at a time and set the title and caption or upload multiple images ?
The problem with allowing uploading multiple images is that users would be able to completely flood the gallery!
We have created a plugin that works with our Easy Visualization Tools for WordPress, so that you can use the Google Chart Tools to visualize your earnings. Check out the plugin on our website. Or send us a PM and we can send the Envato API plugin to you.
Please notice that this is a public forum. You should contact the author of the item. I’m sure he/she will help you. Go to the authors profile page and send a message.
I spoke with Collis personally a few days ago and brought this up. He said that that is definitely not true, and if it is, it shouldn’t be. Authors are more than welcome to include auto updaters. I include auto updaters in all of my new plugins.
I’m glad that you were able to get an answer from him. Maybe they can make it official because I’m really tired of not being able to get an answer. This is the latest of many emails I’ve received from Envato concerning this.
It does say that an approval is on the way, but still nothing official. We’ve only been asking for this for 12+ months now.
However this is good then we can get started implementing auto updaters in all our plugins.
