Sorry I’m not trying to remove the black areas unfortunately.Im trying to find the playing area if video adds black around.
I tried the logic like a- Height of container
b- Height by aspect ratio( assuming width will be full width)
Offset = a-b
But it doesn’t seem to work well because in some cases black areas can be above video , some cases above and below.
Yes its hosted on amazon s3.If the container for video element is not maintaining the aspect ratio it adds around black area.Another example when it happens is if you do fullscreen it adds black area.
@OriginalEXE- I need to place some elements relative to video play area.
@doru – Tried a few methods and searched through google but couldnt find anything
Is there a way find the dimensions of video playing area without black arounda.I am looking to find this dimensions or may be the offsets.The black area is different on different resolutions or different sizes of container.So I am looking for a way to find offset or the dimension.
Example html5 video with black area on top and bottom http://cl.ly/image/3A0F0C1m3u0d
Please let me know if there is anyway to find
1Password – its super cool.

Thanks everyone.Found the issue finally . The iframe src page was having script tags in head when i moved it to end of budy tag its fine now
Thanks a lot for all the help
It looks like you said you tried this already, but I would think hiding the iframe until it’s fully loaded seems like it should work.
<iframe style="visibility:hidden;" onload="this.style.visibility = 'visible';" src="../examples/inlineframes1.html" > </iframe>
One thing I would suggest trying is making sure your caches are cleared when trying different methods.. I have had experiences in the past where it just kept pulling from a cache/memory rather than applying my newest changes… so I would get frustrated that nothing was working, all the while, I was never really seeing my changes take affect.Hope you get it worked out.
No its not cache
