Overall this design upgrade looks absolutely awesome. Very nicely done Envato!
Here’s the one [big] issue that still remains with the Comments section: Buyers are using the Comments section for Item Support.
Envato will be rolling out the “Support Packages” for all products in the near future, which totally rocks. We strongly feel that the current Comments section is not quite ready for this market-wide upgrade and we please ask to consider our recommendations….Recommendations:
- Make the Comments form “smarter”
- Check what kind of user is attempting to write a comment and adjust the comments form accordingly…...consider these 3 scenarios:
- 1. If a user has not purchased the Item, display the comment form like normal
- 2. If a user has Purchased the item and has a valid Support Package, hide the comment form completely and instead display a warm and fuzzy message with a link to the Authors Support Tab
- 3. If a user has Purchased the item and does not have a valid Support Package, hide the comment form completely and instead instruct the user to purchase a Support Package
Thanks for your great work Envato!
Great article – thanks so much for sharing.
We personally use ImageOptim and TinyPNG.
Here’s from our experience:
TinyPNG saves heaps of filesize and is our first tool of choice. Sometimes however it “distorts” images so just be sure to compare the original and compressed versions. If the compressed version is A-OK then roll with it. (95% of the time it’s good to go)
When TinyPNG does indeed distort an image then we turn to ImageOptim. The filesize won’t be quite as small but you’ll still get some savings and the image is sure to be exact quality as the original.
Lovely idea. Congrats Envato! signed
If you’re not planning on tons of traffic and looking for reliable, affordable service, we highly recommend BlueHost. (approx. $90 for a year of service)
If you’re looking for something with a lot more power, and the ability to expand in the future, we highly recommend a DV4 server from MediaTemple. (1GB minimum, approx. $100 per month)
We use both on a daily basis and have never had any major issues with either server.
I hope this helps
My old title when working at a very prominent marketing firm as the lead web developer and jack-of-all designer was: Creative Strategist
I hope this helps
Best of luck with everything

Words of Wisdom:
Do not try to be better than your predecessors or your peers, just simply try to be a better you.
What does being a “better” author really mean anyway?
Do not seek happiness or fulfillment in man-made things, for they will always leave you feeling empty.
Trust me in these words: Becoming “the best author” will most definitely leave you feeling unfulfilled and wanting more.
I noticed a major increase lately. I’ve been reporting about 2 comments a day it seems.
Yes same here.
We’re disabling and banning accounts as quickly as we’re able. Thanks for helping out by reporting the spam item comments/forum posts.
Thanks so much for all your hard work.
Does the domain name has the word “custom” in it ?
I know this thread is a few months old but we’re running into the same issue and the domain does indeed have the word “custom” in it.
Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
Thanks a lot guys for the kind words. I really appreciate it.
As per any CU3ER questions, you can purchase a ‘template license’ through the cu3er sales team for approx $990 US.
Also not that I care that much, but in response to some of the cu3er flaming, about 90% of our customers are using jquery2 homepage template. Most users don’t even use cu3er.
Thanks again everyone. We really appreciate all the support. We have much respect for all of the talent here on Themeforest. We wish everyone great fortune on all future endeavors.
Blessings from the US.
