Envato is detached from reality. Their funny invoices are just invaluable piece of digital paper in my country and they think that their MOSS VAT ID is enough for proof that we paid VAT, but it completely isn’t.
I didn’t talk to accountant yet because it’s saturday but I know tax law in my country and there’s no other solution than keeping it as it was before.
No, VAT will be collected and remitted under Envato’s MOSS registration, not an authors name.
In EU we’re forced to give authorities VAT declaration (in my country – every month). Envato’s MOSS VAT ID completely doesn’t have value for tax authorities in EU and can’t be the proof. Collis, please make reference to this.
clarecomm saidWhat’s more, that invoice is illegal in most UE countries because it doesn’t contain full details of an author. I completely don’t understand why they can’t keep it clear and Envato say they’re re-seller but there are certain facts they are direct seller.
Besides all that…in what country of the world is it legal to issue an invoice in the name of another entity?
There’s no other solution than issue an invoice every month for the money Envato withdrawed, just like before. At this moment I can’t show to authorities that kind of invoice which Envato does because it’s illegal in EU, otherwise Envato pays taxes so how can I prove that VAT was paid by them or me? That’s ridiculous and I hope they’ll clarify everything…
Sure, but I’m afraid they won’t give clear response. There are many important questions without answers.
If Envato will pays VAT in each country for us then how may I prove ahead my Polish IRS that VAT for invoice like this https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/201999434-System_Invoice_Author_to_Buyer.png is already paid?
If Envato pays taxes then Envato is the seller and they’re affected by MOSS, not authors. What Envato will “tell” our IRS? “Here’s 1000$ of VAT we’re paying for John Doe”
There’s possibility to move back removed theme. I had similar problem with DMCA – someone’s copied my theme here, then I sent DMCA. After Envato removed that template we talked with that author and and came to terms with him (he made magnificent changes to the template). Then I sent support ticket about that, DMCA was cancelled and template was again available.
But it was about 2 years ago, so I’m not sure how things looks now.
Imho. Envato doesn’t remove ratings at all.
This is rating that I’ve received a week ago:
Extra comments from the buyer:
Always disappointed by these websites that appear as Wordpress customisable and then you discover you just bought a HTML version, so not Wordpress compatible, Not transparent!!!
and here’s response from Envato regarding to my ticket about that rating:
Although you might not always agree with it, honest and unhindered buyer feedback is valuable and a great way to get insights into over all improvement.
The ratings comments are private and for your eyes only and we hope you will consider all reviews and ratings with an open mind and that it will contribute to the future success of your business as an author.
I’m not even sure if that customer reffered to me or Envato.
You can calculate earrings by downloading CSV file from ThemeForest.
Hi allITPassionates said
Envato please help!
We hear you, and accept that there are currently some flaws in the ratings / review system. It’s something we’re actively looking into, although it’s a big project and one we need to get right.
We’ll reach your ticket within a few days. In the meantime, I don’t think we need a new forum thread each time an Author receives a < 3 star ratingChristian
I’ve 11 one star ratings and usually I don’t care about them but this one is just silly.
