*off topic Gotta love when a forum doesn’t have the +1 button and the community enforce there point lol.
Hey nhbeachguy, I wouldn’t be looking for Dreamweaver templates. I used Dreamweaver for around 5 years and those templates sites are just terrible. The ones that can connect to Adobe Contribute….
Whilst they seem simple at first glance and early into web design (you feel you’re working with the very basics) it’s not true. Plus they put their own wrapping on it so it makes it a pain to get rid of that if a new designer only receives the .dwt template files.
If it’s super simple and doesn’t need a CMS (which can also be very simple if you take some early tuition) fire into a plain .html site template and customise as you see fit.
One would argue that a WordPress theme might be even simpler if you don’t want to get your hands dirty in code.
I am not a designer, but a coder, and what i see in your design is that it does not have room for air. It’s very very crowded.
Story of my life thanks for the added feedback, will consider this also when going forward.
It’s taken so long to get it to this stage, but hopefully worth it… even if it’s for client sites.
Thanks for the feedback. Very to the point, will have those areas spruced up shortly. Cheers.
Yeh, new here on the forums but following since day 1. Would hang out in other forums typically web design centric but seems to make sense to hang out more often in the place of work.
I like your designs, very bright and cheery.
Hello man, no problems and nice to meet you.
Can see the frustrations, it’s a tricky one to balance for sure. The World of digital has opened a huge can of worms when it comes to saleable goods and how to guage the support of that.
In an ideal World there would be perfect quality control and I feel your pain especially when you’re spending hard earned beans to feed someone else but maybe sometimes we just gotta take it on the chin. Had it been a builders contract you would have serious grounds to contest.
I’m guessing here with the huge amount of files hosted it can be difficult to get every single option, setting, page template, type etc tested and signed off to a standard of 100% accurate.
Even if it’s 99% fine (the product / theme) and an issue is reported, streamlining that when the Author isn’t available / capable / aware of a solution.
Sure the only sites that have live support online to a relative standard are Amazon, eBay etc. Even web hosts like Media Temple have slower and slower response times.
Maybe that’s our job, to help come up with new and cool ways to help others in similar situations.
Who knows, lol. Hope you get your happy place again.
I’ve joined here today really and caught your conversation here, maybe there’s something I can do to help you get installed, configured and ready to rumble.
If you could point out the issues you have experienced will be happy to provide a bit of support until the Author is ready to reply.
