blame everyone and everything except .. ADOBE!!!
Let it be known as customers we have options … when an author see’s a blatantly problem and refuse to solve it because (a) He has no clue (b) he already got your money© he just dont care … remember this marketplace needs us the spending customers to buy your theme … and there are others out there …
YAWWNNNNNNNNNNN blah, blah whats new .. he was just like any other CEO ruthless, vindictive, heartless .. he cared for no one not even his own health …. but guess what he made a product(s) and he did not put a gun to anyones head to buy it … the consumers made him and the Apple Kingdom …. unlike the suckers who can file for bankruptcy and tell me .. sorry that 400k that we had in our investment company we don’t know where it is … our file and tell my grandparents that sorry but ur 401k is lost!! .... and so MS fall so will Apple some day .. its a cycle!!
I see where you going and I hear what you say .. but let me ask you this if your competitor starts something new, and you know that the industry is just a set of copy cats , they move with the new fad would you not put yourself in a position to profit … ADOBE had all the time in the world to fix their issues and they did not .. Heck they even said it themselves .. WE DROP THE BALL !! ...
When Apple started to dick them .. they said hey to hell with them we are too big to fail Android will be there guess what its still not reliable on android … so android started to slowly but surly distance themselves …. I lay the blame at ADOBES foot .. no one else!!
Nothing can be compared to Flash right now, but it will only survive if ADOBE starts to get it right … the industry is littered with mobile devices ….. and yet they have not done nothing to fix their mobile service instead they throw in the towel ..
PS: my current phone (htc evo) is faster than my first windows computer 1999 … I was able to view some cool flash sites and yes sites now are much more advance but so is the devices … I don’t think speed is an issue …
Adobe took Steve Jobs head on in a public battle for who had a bigger dick.
LOL !!!!!!! .. that was a good article just show how divided the creative community is ..
All is well and done until a client gets this constantly!! tsafi I like your reasoning and vibration if the clients wants WP give them.. if they want HTML give them .. if they want flash give them… jesus peeps THEY ARE THE ONES PAYING !! .... tsafi pointed out if someone takes away your brushes simple buy another but when the take away your canvas .. then whats the point .. we can all yell curse have temper tantrums .. but peeps ADOBE screwed everyone .. clients dont care about that they want their site to be seen across all browser and media platform including mobile .. so who you blame .. do u build 2 sites to accomplish this or do some extra coding .. the cost going to go up cause u aint working for free .. or u say HELL NO FLASH IS MY BABY !! .. then they find another developer simple .. they have the money .. we work for them not the other way around … I sat and listen to Marc Canter at a workshop the other day and he said the biggest mistake adobe made was not believing the rich content would one day end up being on mobile device when approached about it that they need to start looking in that direction when the first iphone was release the scuff at the suggestion saying the IPHONE WOULD FAIL … well look what happen to them now .. No one here is saying that Flash is not good .. ITS FREAKING AWESOME !! but the peeps who have the power in their hands to make it better have done nothing .. has seen above it still not freaking stable!!
CodingJack back in the day the economy was great … now its in the toilets … all that u say is good and great BUT !!! when a studio can offer one site for all platforms … the clients starts looking at dollars and cent, and the competition is very aggressive … 5 years ago I could do one site and photo shoot and all is well .. that aint happening today .. NO SIR !!
A mean how do u think clients with tech knowledge see that the very tool that we work with the manufacture is basically throwing in the towel ... thats like trying to a car and the manufacturer saying the discontinuing the brand … listen I dont blame authors I blame the source ADOBE !!
From a consumer level .. its hard to even sell flash sites to client these days .. I was In a meeting trying to get a contract … 3 executives .. 2 had ipads, 1 had a samsung galaxy Tab .. they tried to view my studio site .. its was a no go on the ipad, and on the samsung a snail moved faster when it tried to load … I had to let them load our other partner site .. load in like 5sec … then the flood gate of questions started, will the site function on a various mobile device effectively , will it do this will it do that … At the end of the day the client loved the cool effects that flash could give but they where not 100% comfortable .. we end up going HTML5 .. in the last 6 months 90% of the sites I have built have been WP .. So there are the Authors defending flash and the consumers who not 100% comfortable and with ADOBE screwing the ole thing up it makes it even worse ..
But lets be honest you guys really think that over the next 2-3 years its going to survive with the advent of some many mobile devices exploding on the market and why did ADOBE not position themselves to capture that part of the market .. what was it not worth it … and are u guys still reaping a lucrative income like u do 2 years ago and now
PS: Enable I am almost fall off my seat when I see that u say flash dying this coming from a dude who use to defend it … guess its really fading out!
