DK theme support site (ThemeGoods) appears to still be down. Can a staff member please assist? Thanks…
I created the page, and then I added 9 photos using the traditional WP gallery option. So the above link is showing that. The “Template” setting for this page is “Gallery 3 columns.” When I go to Edit Page, the sidebar has an option called “Content Gallery” – but that drop-down list is blank. How can I get my 9 exterior siding photos to appear as a choice in that “Content Gallery” drop-down?
You can see that at the BOTTOM of my current page, I’m getting the nice DK-style c-column gallery of ALL photos I’ve uploaded. I don’t want to see all those photos. But I do want THAT style of thumbnail/lightbox. Make sense?
Finally, when I am in the wp-admin console, I have a left menu section/widget entitled “Galleries.” Does everyone have this? Is this a part of core Wordpress? I can create a new gallery in here. But Clicking “Add New” to add images does not work. Clicking the “Add New” button does absolutely nothing. I turned off my pop-up blocker, so that’s not it. Did this Galleries area of wp-admin come with core Wordpress or did it come with DK theme install? I feel like IF i could build my gallery in here, and add photos to it, THEN I could select it from my Siding page “Content Gallery” drop-down. In fact, I tried. I created a new gallery called Siding Gallery. And it DID then show up in that drop-down. But because I am unable to add photos to this gallery via the “Galleries” section (http://fl.backwoodscompatible.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=gallery).... they never show up on the Page.
Sorry for the lengthy post! Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks in advance for any input!!!
Thanks, Bee. I appreciate the info! Have a great weekend…
Considering purchasing my first theme from themeforest. I’m a small shop web designer and I have a client who likes a theme on here (DK). I don’t want to interrupt his current site, and I’m not crazy about his current hosting environment. I’d prefer to develop on a private subdomain of my site, so he can view progress, test, etc. Then, when the site is ready, I want to package everything up and deploy on his public domain. Are there are any issues with doing this? License-wise, I only want it for the one client, one public-facing website. But I want to develop it “off site” first.
Also, on a related note… given the above scenario, is it OK for me to purchase the theme for use by my client? Or should my client be the purchaser? Guessing I wouldn’t want two clients using the same theme (not very unique), but IF I ever did that, can I buy it twice (for use by two different clients), or does client need to purchase the theme in their own names? Make sense?
