I got a few photos rejected and a couple that need updated (model release on one, removal of a logo on another, etc) and a few that were accepted and noticed that a few of the rejected ones were (in my opinion) better than the ones accepted.
However, I’m fairly new to photography and since I don’t really feel like trying to compete at the larger sites like istock, I decided to upload my photos here.
I am not looking to make a million dollars off the photos, I just want to learn, have fun & make some cash while I’m at it.
Most people will end up using search, rather than looking at photos on the main page only, so if someone uploads 200 photos, I don’t think it’ll effect people finding your photos if you tag them right and write a good description.
I’m hoping this site takes off. fingers crossed
1.) I’d love to make music full time. I see the AJ site growing larger and larger by the day, so by keeping a consistent flow of music uploads, I’m sure it can happen one day. Music has always been a passion of mine, so even one sale (what I currently have) is more than enough to make me happy – not that having a full time income wouldn’t be awesome though!
2.) No real success story, except I’ve sold one download of my first audio submission. I’d love to know who bought it and what they did with it. Inspiration comes from many things. I generally just sit down, open up the programs on my computer and start messing with different sounds until something sticks. No real “emotional pull” when I open them up – if I’m angry, it doesn’t mean I’m making angry music – I might actually make calm music to help me relax a bit
3.) Not yet
Welcome! I’m fairly new here as well (uploaded one track so far a few months ago but am getting all of my old hard drives out to bring out the other work I’ve done).
As far as contacting buyers directly, I am sure if you put in your profile that you’re open for custom orders, the people who are interested will contact you. I’m not sure if it’s allowed or not, but in the zip that people purchase/download, you could also put a txt file in and let people know you’re available for custom work (for this, I’d check with the staff first to make sure).
checking the blog post out now. Born to be Big audio works perfect with that video. It’s definitely inspiring to see these. Makes me want to start making more audio files
the links in this forum post though do not work
If you don’t sell the source files, you can always show them if need be, and prove you made the work. If the person who lifted the mp3/wav can only show an mp3/wav, they will lose. I’d also recommend what Mijai_Sorohan said. it’s been the “bootleg copyright” for years and does work.
definitely a cool interview. I use FruityLoops and Adobe Audition as well – it’s good to see I’m not the only one
Nice work too. I like the bassline on In the Yellow Jungle
Sons of Anarchy
That’s the only show I watch. It’s on FX every Tuesday evening at 10pm eastern. It’s on track to top the Shield in every sense. Written by the same guy too.
wish I had a before shot, but my g/f HATES me without a mustache/goatee. so it looks like I’m out. good luck to everyone though.
How about showing how to use a file to create a design. Something like the tuts you already do, or multiple ways it can be used like bamag.com.
I’ll second this.
That, and maybe some extra tips on different types of files that haven’t really been submitted yet (you could even hold a poll for the users here to vote on what they’d like to see more of).
