It’s my script. It merely suggests rating, and doesn’t ask for it, not does it require a rating to continue to function or any other such stuff. This is how it functions:
- The pop-up occurs 1 week after installation.
- It occurs only in the control panel of the specific product
- It saves a flag in the database so it is only ever displayed once.
- It contains this EXACT text:
Firstly, this is a once off. Once you close this popup, you’ll never see it again. Secondly, I would like to thank you for purchasing Facebook Gallery.
If you like the script, I would really appreciate a positive rating on the CodeCanyon page for the script. Ratings & comments can mean a lot to new buyers. It doesn’t take long! Click here to go to CodeCanyon. (Links to the product page)
If you’re having any trouble with the script, please do not hesitate to contact me for support via my user profile page on CodeCanyon (links to my profile page).
I got the idea for this pop-up from many many apps on the iTunes store that show a pop-up asking for a rating. Even Facebook does it. It appears to be a very common implementation.
That being said, it really didn’t occur to me that within that time frame a client of the purchaser might see it, and I apologize for that.
I would like some sort of acceptable method of this. Perhaps during the installation, but issue is that many people will use the product and not rate the product. In my eyes, when I developed it, 1 week was time for them to become accustomed with the script and form an opinion on whether or not they liked it. Also I did want them to know that there is support available if they are having a problem with the script.
For now I’ll remove it and resubmit my scripts (Website Gallery also uses the same functionality).
How am I gonna ask for support now? Crap. I’m going to write him.
Don’t worry about it mate. You’re just trying to right what you see is a wrong. No harm. I’ll still give you support and will reply to your request as soon as I can.
Just saw this thread. This was me just before and after I shaved. Yes that’s a real mo beforehand.
Just saw this as I updated a product. This is fantastic news. THANK YOU!
Woo it’s the best feeling. Good luck!
Hey all! I hope this doesn’t count as self advertising. If it does, mods feel free to lock or delete as needed. I just am excited I got to feature complete on it and want to show it off!
Here is the demo video: http://www.screenr.com/XcE7
To explain, it’s a wordpress photo gallery plugin. You can get images from a number of sources and user a number of display methods. Future versions will increase both the number of image sources and image display methods (I plan to integrate it with some of the most popular sliders here on codecanyon).
Anyway, I’d like to hear the reaction from people here. Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll also be adding features to it rapidly, so if you have a request for something in a wordpress gallery, let me know!
I understand it, and sounds pretty cool. Basically like a live webcam, but instead of video, takes pictures and puts them on Facebook as the event is happening, so others can see the pictures right as they happen.
Based solely on the idea, I’m not sure why it was rejected. Perhaps it was rejected due to the interface?
You can always reply and ask them what specifically about the product they thought wasn’t quality enough.
Sydney, Australia I took this picture from a friends place, then I moved to viewing distance of the city, and below is the view from my place now:
