Hi again All,
Firstly, I wanted to say a huge thanks for all the constructive feedback and suggestions on the new statement. There are some great ideas coming through. Some of these we had considered including, and some which we hadn’t thought about. Color coding is something we should be able to get our design team to take a look at, now we have the new version up and running.
As I mentioned in my original post, the major focus of this piece of work was an overhaul of the back end of statements and how they are modeled in our system. We had a little bit of scope to implement some user facing features, and we chose the ones which we thought would deliver the most value to the widest range of users (including authors, buyers and affiliates) in the time we had to spend.
Secondly, I wanted to offer my sincerest apologies to those who have been adversely affected by the fact that these changes have broken some third party tools.
We still have a good deal of “behind the scenes” work to do in Finance Dev, which is necessary for the marketplaces to scale gracefully as we continue to grow. You may not see many shiny features coming from us in the short term, but the work we’re doing will allow us to build much better financial tools and reporting inside the marketplaces down the track.
I hope this gives you some understanding of what we’re up to, and why
Thanks again for all your feedback – it’s really great to hear from you all.
All the best,
It’s Kat Grant here, Systems Analyst and Product Owner in the Envato Marketplaces Finance Development team. Most of the work we do in Finance Dev is not user facing, which is why you don’t hear from me much.
Today is special for us though We are excited to announce the release of some improvements to your My Statement page, which we were able to make as a result of some significant reengineering of how statement transactions are modelled behind the scenes.
This change is part of the Financial Tools piece that Collis wrote about in his blog post on the Marketplaces 2014 Roadmap last month.
Our wonderful community ambassador, Dzinc, has put together a great write up of all the new features on our blog.
We hope you like them!
Kat and the Finance Dev team.

Here’s quick update on what’s happening with your sales:
Yesterday around 1pm Melbourne time, we reprocessed the majority of sales.
There are a small number of sales (less than 40) which we will be reprocessing tomorrow (Friday March 14th, Melbourne time).
The only sales we will not be reprocessing are the ones where the buyer had already logged back in and repurchased your item.
The licence keys for the reprocessed sales are identical to the licence keys the buyers received when they originally made the purchase, however the timestamps on the sales will be the time they were reprocessed.
We will be in touch via email with all affected authors once the reprocessing is complete.
Thanks for your patience, and sincerest apologies.
