Thanks infuse01, my question was more along the lines of “what styles in styles.CSS do I change?” Is there a wordpress standard for this, or does it vary from theme to theme?
Thanks Pixfee, I’d just be looking for a code snippet of CSS that you could email me to apply because I can’t figure out what to change. What would your fee for that be?
I am trying to customize the header color to match my logo (white background). I go into personalization, and set the header background to #FaFFFFF and it changes, but it becomes white with black/grey stripes instead of solid white. additionally changing the border color to #FFFFFF does not help.
Any suggestions as to why and how do fix? Do I need to customize the CSS ? I could not find header background color there so pointers would be appreciated.

I want to change the menu colors of my theme. The top part of the page is black background, and I want it white. (My logo is white background, you can see at http://www.teamworkcentral.com.)
It looks like I can go in and customize this with #primary-nav in style.css. Is that right? Is there an easier/better way I am missing?
Also, how do people generally handle CSS , should I just modify style.css and upload, should I maintain a separate file that inherits/overrides? Other?
My site is http://www.teamworkcentral.com if that’s helpful in answering.
I recently purchased the confidence responsive theme. Installation is failing:
Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-2210079-confidence-responsive-blog-magazine-theme.zip Unpacking the package… Installing the theme… The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.
When I look inside the zip, I see a style.css, it is in this directory: Confidence Package\Theme Files\confidence\style.css
