Competitors! Please straightening The Horizon for your photos. It is most common mistake for young photographers and I see some crooked horizons or badly aligned lines.
We would like to discuss about our HARD rejected design, we have made a new HTML template called gadgetine, the demo you can see here http://gadgetine.orange-themes.com/html/
But it was hard rejected with a standard copy&paste phrase :
Our Review team also provided these comments:
Your theme does not provide a unique enough design with the necessary design quality, features and options to compete in the marketplace at this time. As higher quality templates become available in the marketplace, approval requirements will increase to maintain appropriate marketplace quality.
You might consider improving your design with more unique features and graphics in order for it to stand out among other marketplace items. However, a unique design will be a key factor for approval.
We know it’s frustrating to be rejected citing uniqueness but recently, we’ve gotten a large number of template with the same overall features and presentation and we have to draw the line somewhere. However, we do accept themes with similar structure but in condition it provides better quality in terms of aesthetic or features.
The last years on themeforest we have specialized on magazine themes, and many our customers appreciate that. We believe that in magazine theme the most important is the NEWS content, and not a big slider, or infinity theme loading by every page load.
But the last month rejections made us a bit angry, because there is no legitimate reason why it’s been rejected, no seriously take a look at few last accepted themes like the Magazine theme in magazine section, the design is really poor and most important there is NOTHING unique, but it’s accepted.
btw here you can see on of our rejection reasons for previous theme
This isn’t serious, by seeing some of the last accepted “unique” themes we start to feel like the reviewed doesn’t review the theme but spins a wheel of fortune, and that shows him a reason why to reject a theme. Also as you can see most of the last “unique” themes have really low sales, because the “unique” often looses the usability of the page and it’s not any more visitor friendly.
Right now we think it’s so that some authors also doesn’t like what they need to make, just because themeforest wants it and they need to get a theme in to earn some money.
Well I have something to say too.
There should be an appropriate supporting system provided by ThemeForest, not the comments. In the title it says “Comments” not “Support”. If Envato will provide us – Authors a working support system, then 70/30 would be appropriate, because a lot of us provide and maintain our own support systems and i don’t see why Envato should receive any commission in that case.
I respect sales commission from 50/50 to 70/30, I’m completely fine with that, because ThemeForest has exposure that is so valuable, but support and support systems are maintained by us – Authors, not ThemeForest. So I want to ask Envato, to provide a support system for all Authors and then, just then as money for item support.
Also we – Authors will face blackmailing with a 1 star rating a bit more than usual. Clients don’t even have to pay for support, they just have to put 1 star rating and tell us what we have to do for them in order to get rid of that unfair rating. My advice is to review low ratings before making them public, just like it’s being done with theme reviews. If rating is blackmailing of unfair, get rid of it / if the rating might be true, then ask them for more detailed information, so we can fix the problem.
In TL;DR case, read just only highlighted text
This is really similar to this theme http://themeforest.net/item/smartstart-wp-responsive-html5-theme/2067920
